    Kmart Layaway

Repeating what achesley said, I know at the K-Mart I work for, if you know you're going to be late on a payment, call a couple days in advance. If you call, we write your name down on a list with the day you'll be able to pay by. I don't know how often they do the $1.00 layaway, but whenever they do, its in the ad, so keep an eye out for that. When it comes to layaway, at our store, you make payments every two weeks for 2 months. So if you put things on layaway, you might want to do it a day or so after payday for you. That way, when it comes time for your next payment, it will be easier since you just got paid.
  2. Oh and actually, surprisingly enough, it was the other way around, K-Mart bought Sears. Don't ask me how though! :)
  3. I work at K-Mart and they started that card thing about 2 months ago or so. You're suppose to scanned them, but even if you don't they still get counted for. As for Kmart being crappy, I don't know about other stores, ours is pretty friendly, I love everyone I work with, however corporate pretty much sucks. Everything always is a mess because they never give us enough hours. You're lucky if you have two people to cover one half of the store. (Like they have one person to cover all of appeal, which includes fitting rooms and jewelry as well.) Any ways, back to BF, I haven't heard anything yet, but if I do, I'll keep you guys posted. :)
  4. K-Mart is open in my town on Thursday, I know because I have to work. I don't know anything about the Thanksgiving sales being available on Wednesday.
  5. The K-Mart I work with doesn't. It might just depend on your location. I would call the K-Mart you plan on buying things from.
  6. I work at K-mart, I only started a month ago so I have no clue what their policy is on this. I agree that on limited items (where they only have like 10 or so) that employees shouldn't be allow to buy those items before the doors open up. If they were, their probably wouldn't be any of those items left which would mean it would be false advertising. Now on items that they have a several hundred or whatever I think they should be aloud to buy. They are the ones that are going to have to deal with all the crabby people all day. Yes, it's there choice to work there, but at the same time there's no reason for customers to treat them like crap. We deal with people like that all day long, we deserve a little break. Someone has to work in retail.
