  1. It is not you. I have the same issue on a different product. I have tried on different PC's and browsers, so I have to assume it is a problem with Staples checkout process.
  2. Can anyone comment on the general price trend of Laptops this time of year? In other words, I don't want to get sucked into making a purchase now just to use a coupon or discount if there will be similar deals over the next several weeks leading up to Christmas. If I remember correct, I made an impulse buy on a desktop from Staples least year at Midnight on Black Friday only to see the price drop lower in the week after Cyber Monday. Will there still be great deals to be had over the next couple of weeks as retailers fight for customers?? Thanks.
  3. Anyone else looking at monitors for Black Friday or online? Wondering what your thoughts are as to the best deal. Looks like it is Best Buy, Dell Home, Office Depot and Office Max with the only advertised deals. Any thoughts on AOC? I've never heard of this brand.
  4. Does anyone know anything about Asus Laptops? I have been seeing what appear to be decent deals on them, but really don't have any knowledge of the brand.
  5. For any of you who are current on Laptop technology...what is a good deal these days? I don't know much about current component technology since I have not purchased a computer for 5 years. I'm looking to spend under ~$500. Computer will be strictly home business use...no gaming. I'm thinking I would like a minimum of 3GB RAM or 2GB expandable to 4GB (seems like all software you buy these days suggests 1GB RAM). Hard drive probably 320+. Are the cheap computers found at Walmart and similar places any good? Or am I better off waiting for a good online deal through NewEgg or similar retailer? Are there any particular strategies for picking up a great deal on a laptop?...Besides standing in line on Black Friday? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Just another thought on a way to get a great deal on a TV.... If you have a rewards program through you bank, check out the gift card rewards. Many of them offer eCertificates to Amazon. I exchanged about 23,500 rewards pts for $235 of eCerts last night...which were them IMMEDIATELY emailed to me. I took these and purchased a 32" LG for my bedroom. It was originally a $450 unit and I got it for $95 out of pocket considering the black friday price, no tax and free shipping. I accomplished all this in 15 minutes from the comfort of my home. Amazon has a better selection than almost anywhere else...and also offers free return shipping if necessary. My bank rewards (Wells Fargo) also offers eCerts to Crutchfield. Good Luck.
  7. One possible suggestion for researching TV's...you can purchase a one month online subscription to Consumer Reports for $5.95 and access all thier current HDTV ratings. I have found it very useful in my current search. Just make sure you cancel before 30 days...because they will autorenew each monthly billing period. This is not to say that people on here don't give good advice...but each person just gives their own opinion based on their individual experience/research....and this certainly does not make them wrong. However, Consumer Reports findings are generally based on extensive testing and overall warranty claims for specific units/brands. I would agree that Samsung and LG are generally the best overall, but even for specific units under these brands you will find negative reviews. Regarding some of the comments on Vizio TV's. I am considering one because they get consistently high ratings from Consumer Reports. They are not just a "Walmart" TV. They are sold through many channels and are one of the fastest growing brands. I would not consider them an offbrand like Dynex, Curtis etc. Vizio has definitely gained market share in the last few years mainly because of the lower price point. The jury is still out on L-T reliability.
  8. After some research, I'm leaning towards the Excalibur line of dehydrators. They do have a horizontal airflow system...which I think is imperative for even drying and to eliminate tray rotation. They are definitely a bit more spendy than Nesco or the other cheaper brands in retail outlets, but I generally adhere to the theory of you get what you pay for.
  9. I'm in the market for a food dehydrator. Can anyone provide some insight into a reliable brand/model...or any current good deals. Thanks.
  10. My Best Buy matched Sears on a 42" Panasonic Plasma 1080P prior to Black Friday. Sears had it on sale for $1199 and Best Buy had it for $1399. They matched the $200 difference AND matched an additional 10% off for opening a credit card (which I did not have to use). I ended up paying $1199 - $120 - $40 (for Best Buy rewards pts) for a total of $1039 + tax on 18 months interest free. Anyway, the moral of the story is that you will never know unless you ask. If they are hesitant, work on them nicely and tell them you prefer to shop with them as you often do. They will probably find a way to make it work for you.
  11. I was able to get Best Buy to price match the $1199 and also agree to give me an additional $150 back if I applied for the BB Mastercard (which I'll cancel). Throw in the $20 of reward zone certs ($5 per $250 spent) and an additional $15 they threw in for their personal holiday promotion ($15 for purchase over $500) and I purchased the TH-42P77U Full 1080P set for $1084!!! BB also had a 3 yr no interest deal on all Panasonics. I have found Best Buy to be very reasonable on price matching if you have full documentation from the other retailer. Needless to say....no waiting in line for me on BF!
  12. I just came back from my sears and the 46" Bravia is indeed $1399 for full 1080. You can then either select 18 mths no interest or another $150 off by using a sears card. If you don't already have a sears card, you can open an account and get 6 mths no interest and then use the card for the $150 off. Price would then be $1249.99 + tax. They also have a 42" Panasonic 1080p Plasma for $1199.99 + tax. Using the $150 rebate, total cost in MN with 6.5% sales tax is about $1120. Sale ends today on this one.
  13. If you link through from the doorbusters add, it specifically says it is the following: Sony 46 in. LCD Full HD (1080p) Television, BRAVIA Sears item# 05771687000 Mfr. model# KDL-46V3000
  14. Regarding pricing from above....... $2299.99 original price -$300.00 price drop -$500.00 instant savings $1499.00 -$150.00 MIR $1349.99FINAL PRICE If you go to sears.com right now and put this item in your cart, it comes up as $2,199.99. Take off $300, $500 and $150 and you come to a final price of $1,249.99. This appears to be the best deal I have seen on a 46" Bravia...which is one of the best quality LCD's IMOH.
