  1. We just did this last night. Went in to get a new Epson printer that was priced at $279.99, got to the counter and asked for the price match and showed the clerk the online price at B&H for the same printer with free shipping for $179.00. The only slight issue was that it took 4-5 minutes for a manager to arrive to approve the new price but other than that it was easy and pain free. Saved $100.99 for 5 minutes time, I prefer to buy in store and if they continue this policy then I will start buying from BB again.
  2. Starting Wednesday night keep an eye on websites, the past 2 years we were able to get great deals, the first year it was the same TV from another location for about $50 more and last we got the doorbuster deal online at the same location for the same price on Thursday afternoon. I would pay and extra $50 any day to not have to sit in line for 8-10 hours and then fight the crowd.
  3. May be a little off topic, but there is actually a reason the new Wii is not called the Wii 2... because 2 in Japanese is Ni (pronounced knee). So it would be called the Wii-Ni.... just a little useless but factual trivia.
  4. If you are looking for a W/D deal or other appliances then keep an eye on homedepot, the last 2 years they have had great deals on everything. We did W/D first year and complete kitchen the second year, not only are they on sale but if you buy multiple pieces you get extra discounts ($50 for 1 item, $100 for 2 items etc.) and it includes free delivery, setup and haul away of old. We saved about 40-50% on the packages. And they very best part is that even thought its in the BF ad they starting selling them in stores and online on like Monday or Tuesday before, so you buy early and go somewhere on BF.
  5. I still think the way WM 24 hour stores (or at least ours) do it works the best. All the products are placed on pallets throughout the store and then ropes are placed around the products. A walmart employee or two stand around to keep an eye on things and at 5am (or 4am) they say go and then they start to hand out the items to those in line. No running, pushing or shoving. nobody gets hurt and most importantly... if you are number 20 in line and there are only 18 laptops then you move on, no need to waste time waiting on something you know you cannot get. This would work even for stores that are not 24 hour stores. Just open the doors several hours before the sale starts and let people line up inside near the item they want. It also elimantes the hoaders like you get at BB, first ten people in line get one of everything and the rest of the crowd gets a thumb drive for 50% off. You cant be in 2 lines at once so now everybody get something and nobody get everything. When my kids were younger and we were getting tv's, laptops, toys and whatnot we did this every year and it worked out perfect, never once have seen a fight break out or somebody even get knocked to the ground.
  6. I think the hours getting earlier and earlier is going to backfire on these big box stores pretty soon. The thought is that the first guy to open wins... but that may not be true. If a person is waiting in line for target to open at midnight then they are not going to be shopping at walmart at 10pm. And of course the opposite can be said that if you are shopping walmart then you can wait in line at target. I think they will figure out in the near future that having there sale times 3-4 hours apart will help them both. Either way customers are going to shop at there stores for the sales and everything will be gone by noon anyways so why keep trying to out do the other guy. You dont see best buy opening earlier each year to try to be out walmart/sams/target electronics sales.
  7. Black Friday 2015, starting Monday at 12 noon. :)
  8. I for one am glad to hear this, I get tired of staying up all night in line till 4-5 am and then getting home at 8-9 am and going to bed after being up for 24-28 hours straight.. now I can just line up at 6-7pm and then be home by 1-2am and get some sleep and then hit the malls at 8-9 in the morning. Even for those who want to do WM or BB you can still hit target first and then move on down the street. I also like it because if WM or Sears or somebody has something I want it gives me a chance to hit more than one store, in the past it was always Target and then get the leftovers at the other stores, and then home for some sleep.
  9. The last Christmas Circuit City was still in business we did it with a TV. It was a top model Samsumg that was regular priced like $39xx.xx and was on sale in the flyer for something like $28xx.xx and my wife told the saleman we would buy it if they took an extra 10% off. He quickly hunted down the manager and without any second thoughts the manager approved the sale and sent us on our happy way. 10% on a $3k item was a big savings, and all it took was to ask... it never hurts and dont let pride get in your way, money is money.
  10. Depends... there are 2 different types of dryer plugs so it just depends on what you already have (you can take the old one off your current dryer). And my vent was 15 y/o so it was time for a new one... if you are going to spend that much cash might as well get a new clean vent and new cord for another $10-$15 each.
  11. We did the LG front load washer and dryer 2 years ago and then the kitchen package last year (frig. stove, micro. and dishwasher). They were both great deals, the washer and dryer ended up being almost half price (paid $1200 total for 2 $999.00 items and accessories), and the power cord, vent and stacking brackets were also onsale. It also included free delivery setup and hauling of old appliance and packaging away, and it wasnt a rebate after the fact, just free delivery and setup. The kitchen package was almost the same, all the prices were greatly reduced and then the more pieces you bought they took off an extra $50-$100-$200 off the sale price, and it also included free delivery and setup. Be sure to go to the store or check online early, the washer and drying went on sale like Monday or Tuesday and the kitchen appliance were on sale like a week before BF. We got ours early and it took less than a week for delivery, I knew others that had them booked out till after Christmas.
  12. I alway prefer to look at the actually scaned ad rather than the list of items for BF. Plus I download the pdf so I can have it with me. But I cannot seem to find them this time. Are the actually scans on the site or is it just the list for now? Link?
  13. HD is already selling there BF washer & dryer sets for BF prices. I got the LG for $998 tonight, I chose it over the Maytag because of a few features I like more. The Maytag is $1198 in the flyer but that is for red, if you can settle for white then it is also $998 like the LG. This includes the delivery, setup, etc. They i also had already sold about 10 sets at the time i went in. Now I dont have to wait on line on BF. I also went to Lowes and looked at the Samsung for $898 but it was a lot more generic than the LG and Maytag. For the extra $100 HD is the better choice.
  14. I have went for the past 5-6 years and items are always in there section, TV's, VCR's, games and systems all in or near electronics, toys in toys... etc.etc., they dont spread things all around the store like walmart
  15. When we bought TV's for our kids a few years ago (they had both 19 and 25 inch on sale) they actually about 25-30 of the 19" and about 10 of the 25". And the line for those didnt really start to form until like 6:30. Now with the LCD it may be a lot different, its HD LCD so everybody wants one, buts it $419 not $89 so not everybody can afford one... tough call, I am trying to make the same decision, luckily I live 2 miles away and there is a Whataburger across the street to have breakfast at if I get there to early.
  16. We have went on TG the past 4 or 5 years. last year the sales were not very good and you could have shown up 15 minutes early and been 10th in line. The 3 or 4 years prior to that Kmart always had some type of TV or game system sale and the lines were a little worse but still showing up at 5-6am meant you were first in line. Now this year may be a little different because unless Walmart comes up with a really good price on a 32" LCD then Kmart has the best price out there. I went and look at the LCD they have in the flyer last night and it is actually a pretty good tv with good reviews online (Olevia 232 is the model). Unless you live in a big city I wouldnt think you would have to get there much more than 2-3 hours early. I think in general most people do not like having to go on TG morning.
