  1. Academy Sports!!!!!!! And for those that missed the home depot listing... don't worry... there wasn't a darn thing worth while.
  2. Black Friday, DoorBusters, and such are forever gone. The retailers know they will get the business anyway. Slap a "doorbusters" on a normal sale item and that is good enough. (Witness all the so called "deals" you can find now as good or cheaper) The smart shoppers (us, less than 3% of gen.pop) know better, the gen. pop is caught up in all the hooplah since the media has covered it over the last few years that they are blind to the non-deal deals. Black Friday.. RIP.
  3. The Fiesta Grill is a STEAL. I bought this grill earlier this year for the regular price ($449) after doing tons of research. I love this grill and for $249 are you kidding me?!!! I should buy another and put it away and wait for my kids to move out and give it to them. HA! Get there early as it is a "while supplies last" deal. The weber is a good price, but "online only" means they'll get you on the shipping costs to make it a so so price.
  4. No smoking deals (so far).. what's to get excited about? :)
  5. With a little effort, you can get all (PC is what everyone else will have, fair deal, not a doorbuster so no standing in line for that one) the below for lower than the listed price already.
  6. Since my post was edited it doesn't make sense.. SO I'll leave it at.. Underwhelmed, 2yrs in a row.
  7. As are most of the "doorbusters". Sorry, I think the ad is terrible on the majority of items. There are a few true doorbusters, but geez. You'd figure in this economy you'd see more loss leaders to get you in. I guess they are banking on the gazillion "doorbusters" that the majority of people won't realize the deals aren't so great. Then again, I guess I'm not a clothes doorbuster guy. Ha! I hope the other stores don't follow this idea!
  8. Thanks for posting it and doing the hard work.. But.. I'm unimpressed with the bazillion "doorbuster" items. Is anything thats on sale now going to be a "doorbuster" to fool the uninformed? Hmm. Marketing at it's best.
  9. Well... I can honestly say..... Walmart deals sucked as almost all of them are still in the aisles at the 4 Walmarts that I've been to, post BF. And... I'm happy about it! Of course.. there are suckers born every day.
  10. Just so that I am understanding. Doorbusters are available online. I'm assuming if they are in my cart on Tuesday, when I go to checkout the price will change to the BF Doorbuster price? Or..... are we playing who has got the fastest fingers game to see who can order before they are sold out? Ahh.. I just relooked at the ad. Nothing too interesting anyway. Good deal though for those that have found items they want!
  11. You're right.. I missed that, since I basically stopped following the bullsquash between both formats a while ago. Good to see they made the change. Now if they can only get their pricing down, get all the functionality that they've promised going, and then hopefully one format will die, ableit, I don't see that coming for a few years unless Warner does decide to hitch on with HD-DVD. Price wise... HD-DVD is the way to go at the moment. End it already. Sony needs to "save face" the most this time around, considering they got bombarded in beta/vhs war. But...when the studios see a low price point player, and joe blow buying them up at walmart, you can bet the studios are going to see which direction their hi def dvd sales will be. As I said before... either one is fine.
  12. My thoughts exactly!!!! Either format is good. Obviously you skipped out telling both sides of the story. Hmm.. where is the list for all the movie houses support for hd-dvd only? but I won't riddle your blu ray advertising. What's killing blu ray is the cheap toshiba pricing. Nielsen ratings suck as Walmart, arguably the biggest hd-dvd seller doesn't release their sales figures. Blu Ray stand alone players... $399 plus.... the playstation 3 won't upscale your old standard dvd's either. 480P is it. HD-DVD stand alone... $169 (black friday deal), $199. The average joe blow will choose which format will eventually win out. Price moves mountains. Blu Ray or HD-DVD... your choice.
  13. hd-dvd Toshiba A3 at Sears on BF. $169 It doesn't say if movies are included or if it qualifies for the 5 FREE by rebate though.
  14. $199 desktop w/17" lcd flatpanel and all in one printer from BB is the best deal I can see, even though its using an Celeron processor. Will suit most kids just fine. The one from CC is okay, except it has a $250 rebate to it. If you don't mind waiting 3-4mths for a rebate check, that is the better deal.
