  1. No way...people are crazy enough there. If there was a 200 dollar plasma, it would be a riot scene.

Add that onto the fact that there's no conceivable way to get the technology down to that price point right now, and you have a tall tale in the making.

Your friend is just blowing smoke on this one...sorry.

  2. It's a little different each place....mostly, in my experience, Best Buy and Wal-Mart see the most crowds, since historically, they have offered the best deals. This year, eh, not so much (at least not yet, anyway...)

That being said, it certainly wouldn't hurt to scout the location Thanksgiving night, and get there a few hours early. With the "Friends and Family" sale at Sears last Sunday, and some people getting their Sears shopping out of the way... you might see less people there overall.

  3. Hi...

I bought the 50 inch Sanyo plasma on the "pre" Black Friday sale Wal-Mart had a few days back...and while it's well and good TV-wise, I've found that it isn't working with my HTPC, even with repeated tries and purchasing various adapters.

I still have the receipt, and additionally, I also have a "gift receipt" for the TV that printed along with it. The only problem is that the original packaging (box and styrofoam) has been thrown away.

I still have all cables, manuals and associated reading material that came with the TV (and, again, I have the receipt and a gift receipt), and I'm within the 15 day limit on electronic returns by three/four days.

Will I have a problem bringing the TV back sans packaging (box and styrofoam) and getting a refund of the 998 I paid for it?

I'm not looking to rip anyone off, or try to "beat" the system here...just want to get my money back for something that didn't work out like I thought it would. :)

Thanks... especially to any Wal-Mart employees or pros that can offer a speedy opinion since time is of the essence on this one!

  4. Missed out on the Wal-Mart $98.00 HD-DVD player deal first of the month (along with everything else at my Wal-Mart on that sale...anyway...), but interested in purchasing whichever format player is cheaper come BF.

Anyone seen any hot deals on players yet?

    Thanks... :)

  5. do they ever offer the deals on line?

That may be the way to go this year....it looks like several places are going to do online as well as in-store or even on-line only sales.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :)

  6. Hmmm...700 bucks off. Same price at Amazon, too.

This was the only thing that I was thinking of going after BF.

I don't know a lot about camcorders (other than from what I've read, 3CCD is a good thing); so compared to the BF ones (and overall)...would this be a good one in lieu of getting up early BF?

I was thinking about spending in the 2-300 dollar range anyway....I just want to know if I'm getting a good deal.

I've seen some fairly good reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, but, as this will be my first camcorder...I thought I would ask here first.

Heck, if I end up getting this I guess I'll sleep in BF! :)
