well not excited this year.... not even for turkey day... I lost my mom this year.... going to a sad one.

I hope everyone here has a blessed Christmas, whether they can afford to give their child everything or can only afford a few gifts under the tree. Drink lots of cocoa, cuddle on the couch and watch Christmas movies, put Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas CD on and sing at the top of your lungs in your best Chipmunk voice, but most importantly, remember the Reason for the season and enjoy your loved-ones!
Couldn't agree more! It has been an extremely rough year here, too. Long story short - eldest adopted child falsely accused us of all kinds of garbage, we were investigated & cleared of everything, paid child support in the meantime 'cuz she chose to go to foster care, paid attorney fees (believe me it is awful what you have to pay to defend your innocence!!!!!!!!), but the emotional toll it has taken on the entire family was the absolute worst!!!!!!!! I can't even begin to tell you of the emotional scars she has left us with.
So . . . moral of the story - enjoy each day that comes your way because none of us knows what's headed our way in the future! Only by the grace of God did our family survive this year.

Wow! I think $150 is outrageous, too. I have a large family (9 kids) and I ask that no one spend more than $50 on our family. A family gift (fruit basket, box of candy, small item for the kids, etc) is greatly appreciated. We want our kids to realize what the holidays are really about, not about the gifts or how much someone spent on them. Hope your sister is receptive to your situation.

Stopped at Target yesterday. Girls Circo jeans $2.48 a pair, girls shirts 75% off, and snagged 2 remote control vehicles at 50% off. Was hoping the vehicles would be 75% but didn't want to chance it because they only had one of each style. Two Christmas gifts out of the way.

WooHoo! So excited I finally found one of these!!! I checked the other day and there weren't any. I went back today and there was one on the end cap with an orange and white clearance sticker. My six year old loves it!!!

Anyone know if this is online only or instore too? Just found out we are getting stationed in Ft. Drum NY, so picking up some clothing for the kids would be nice, and for me and DH too!
oh yea, you will need some warm clothing there and snow boots for sure! we were stationed there twice - absolutely loved it!!!!

I second this, too. You could wrap up a small item for each one of them that they would need or want for the getaway and wrap up a picture of where you are going in a big box for all of them to unwrap. I'm sure everyone would enjoy a break in February whenever you get the winter blues plus it makes for great memories, which are priceless!!

I called Kohl's customer service and their system states that all orders placed by Dec 18th at 11:00 pm will be delivered by December 24th. My orders were placed on the 15th so we shall see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

FYI. I ordered on Dec 15 and Dec 16. Both said my package will arrive by Dec 24. I just tracked them and they have been changed, one will arrive between Dec 29-January 5 and the other will arrive between Dec 30 and Jan 6. They never sent an email notifying me of the change either. I don't think it is right knowing people are ordering Christmas Presents that they would promise something to get there by Christmas and then change it without notifying anybody.
I'm getting really nervous about three orders I placed with them. My confirmation emails I received stated I would receive the orders by Dec. 24th but when I check my orders, the status still shows the orders are in "fulfillment". If they don't ship them tomorrow, I don't see how I will have them for Christmas. I will be very upset and probably end up refusing the shipment if it is not here for Christmas. I had them ordered for a needy family with our pastor planning to make the delivery on Christmas Eve. I am frustrated!!!!
