  1. My sis is pregnant with twins and they are taking them at 35 weeks which puts them due 2 weeks before Christmas, and as a family we do not expect or want anything from the expecting parents. They will get over it. Christmas is about more than gifts. We arent pregnant but I am in the same boat, we are both laid off and last year we vowed to only buy for children in our family and I think we are going to stick to the same this year. saved us probably 300.00 not buying for adults which is nice! If we did buy for adults we did cheap gift cards, like to Steak n shake or to the movies. I thought his parents would have had a cow, but they didnt and they completely understood come Christmas time. It was more about family that day. Wish you all the best and hope things work out for you. I would say something soon though so it's not a shock or unexpected come Christmas time.
  2. Things needed and pretty sure i will find a deal between now and BF are

small LCD TV for DD9 around $100

PSP bundle or just PSP for DD9 for around $150

LAPTOP for DD9- hoping for just somepthing practical for around $200 (I am sure the only thing I will find around that price is a netbook but we'll see)

AND TOYS TOYS AND MORE TOYS!!! Yah (sarcasm)! :)

  3. why does everyone panic? Wasn't there a message saying it was closed because of high traffic?

If i really wanted to scare everyone, i could have posted a message saying the site had been shut down due to a court order because some retailer got mad and sent their lawyers after us... ;)

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!! Really not funny!!!!! :)

  4. Looking at your pictures makes me want to get my stuff out!

Unfortunately we are having near record heat  and I'm not quite in the spirit yet. I'm listening to Christmas music in shorts and a t-shirt grrrrr.

    Love this time of year!

We are in central illinois so I assume we are experiencing the same weather. I am taking advantage of it, nothing worse than being on the roof in snow and ice. We are decorating this week.

  5. Okay we ALWAYS put our tree up Thanksgiving weekend.....but I really wanna do it now. DH say's absolutely NO!!! I'm home from work this whole week as I've been put out of work w/ the flu. I think I'm on the downside of it, and I get little bursts of energy. Anyhow, I want to use 1 of those bursts to get the tree up.

So, has anyone started putting up Christmas decorations yet?

we dont put up until weekend of thanksgiving unless we have a nice day and plan on doing outdoor decorations.

  6. DD8 Now has had the loving family sets for 4 years and loves it still. Even if you pay 70.00 for the dollhouse it is worth it. I can't think of too many toys she still plays with after 4 years. Loving Family is perfect for a 4 year old also.

This year my daughter is getting a 5 foot tall barbie doll house as she has gradually started to pull more towards barbies more than any other toy. i got a great deal from Meijer on the house too. Only paid 108.00 after shipping. Not too bad for a 5 foot tall wooden barbie doll house. good luck in your find.

  7. This is a joke since you have a Steeler's Avigator.... something with Browns/(how can you be from NE Ohio and be a Steeler's fan???????

My Dad is born and raised in Illinois and is a huge Steelers fan!!! I always know what to get him for Christmas. :)

  8. My daughters grandfather on her dads side, bless his heart, always seems to buy her like random things. A giant stuffed cheetah one year, a beach towel (IN DECEMBER- we live in illinois our swimming time here is about 3 months out of the year if that)

This one is actually funny but one year I got a gift card from my sister and BIL. It was a great gift card BUT......they wrapped it in a beer box with all of the dividers and all of the dividers were full of random things so it was like a scavenger hunt trying to find the actual gift. not to mention the beer box was wrapped in a bigger box, then that in a bigger box, then that in a bigger box.....but they weren't all wrapped with just wrapping paper they were wrapped and tapped with, had to be 3 rolls of box tape. I think it took me over an hour to get my gift card. Needless to say I have yet to get back and them maybe this year I will bury their gift in my garden and make them have to dig and find it....lol pending the ground isn't frozen at that time.
