It looks like Ace comes a month earlier every year...2005 In Nov, 2006 in Oct, 2007 in Sep, and 2008 August. I guess we can expect next year's ad in July! LOL

Wow! I can't believe an ad is out already! Yay! :)

I wouldn't use Uhaul no matter how cheap they dropped their price. I've used them 3 different times and every time was given Trucks/trailers that were dented, dirty, and didn't look like they would take me where I needed to go. I always had to clean them out before I could get my stuff in too. Fortunately they didn't brake down on me! Also, all of the Uhaul rental places have been trashy and the customer service has been bad. I've used Budet and Penske and have gotten nice trucks that are well maintained and have had outstanding customer service.
I'll never use Uhaul again.
I agree with this. Before my husband and I were married he and his mother were moving from California to Louisiana and the truck broke down. Uhaul had to come out and transfer all of their stuff to a new truck and then the NEW truck broke down. Uhaul came and transferred their stuff to a new truck and then THAT truck broke down. They went through four trucks b/c three of the trucks broke down. They gave them a refund, but who wants to go through that hassle.
I agree in that Penske and Budget are the better choices. Uhaul has gone downhill in my opinion.

Oops. Does that mean the $3.88 hand mixer I bought this morning is a dud? DS19 wanted one for his apartment and this looked like a cheap option, but maybe not. I guess I'll give him the receipt and he can return it if it doesn't work.
Sheila
It may not be a dud. I bought Wal-Mart's cheap crock pot and mixer four years ago and they both still work great.

Thanks for posting!
I was hoping they would have more yarn on sale though.

I think it was silly on KB's part to not have any extras in the back. That just seems really strange to me. I can understand not having all of them in the back, but it just seems like common sense to have some stored in the back when you know you are advertising it as a free item a week later.

November 1st. I go straight from Halloween to Christmas!! Oh I can't wait!!!
Me too!

No, I don't go overboard for Christmas. I save money for Christmas and I use only that cash. It's so easy for my husband and I though b/c we don't have any kids. I'm willing to bet that it would be easier to blow a budget with kids to buy for. lol

I hope we get a white Christmas this year. My husband and I are moving back to Mississippi from Ohio next year and I would like for our last Christmas here to be a white one.
-
I always go with my husband. We go to a few stores and then go eat breakfast. We then go out to more stores and shop until we get tired. Ahhh...I love Black Friday.
-
I also wanted to add that Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving.
-
I'm ready for Black Friday as well. I've been thinking about it for a while too. Just about a month and a half before the Black Friday section opens here. Well, at least they opened in September last year. Can't wait! I've already requested that day off at work too!

I have a Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Office Max, Kohls, Dick's Sporting Goods, Linens-N-Things, Bed Bath and Beyond, Office Depot, Walgreens, and Old Navy all within two miles of where I live. The mall is about 5 miles away.
-
My husband knows of every penny I spend b/c he's always with me when I shop. Sometimes, I wish he were the kind of husband who hated to shop. Especially when I'm buying things for the house. Our tastes are so different that I've actually said to him, "Why can't you be like the other husbands who don't care about drapes and stuff?" LOL I usually get my way though.
-
I don't think it's too early. This is being spoken by a person who just put the Christmas tree up today. LOL My husband and I were in the mood, so we did. It's ours, so we can put it up when we're good and ready.

There's an article about it on the CNN Money site: Midnight at the Mall.

I don't know if kids today still like these guys but I used to LOVE the Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas album. It's called Merry Christmas from the Chipmunks.
-
yep... when I was little and even now and my kids love it. I've always wanted to go to NY for the parade
As much as I love watching the parade on TV, I've never had the desire to see it in person. I just don't know if it'd be as fun. I've heard that the onlookers basically camp out there early in the morning to get a good spot. I just don't know if I would enjoy it. Has anyone ever been to the parade?

i would think having the "fall tree" would take away the whole thing making it special..it is a limmitted tiem decor. and if you have a "fall tree" why not leave it year round and have a spring tree.and a summer tree? christmas is christmas .if extended too much it will not be specialIMO.. though many decorate a different theme all year round. nice to look at..
I actually know people that do decorate their tree for the seasons. It wouldn't make Christmas less special for me b/c the actual Christmas ornaments are not on the tree. In fact, I think I would get excited at thought of changing out the decorations on the tree. But then again, this is coming from the girl who listens to Christmas music throughout the year and it still hasn't become less special. Not everyone can stand that. To each their own. I LOVE Christmas! :)
-
I listen to it whenever I feel like it. If I want to listen to it in April, I do. I usually start listening to my Christmas CDs non-stop in October and then I switch to the radio station that plays Christmas music once they begin.

I am putting up my tree this weekend and decorating it with fall decor, with fake pumpkins underneath, fall garland, scarecrow, etc. so all I have to do is take the fall decorations down and put up Christmas ones...LOL I saw the idea at the hair salon last weekend and I thought I would do the same!!
Just over a year ago, my husband and I went into a Christmas store and they had a GORGEOUS tree decorated with cornucopias, fruit, leaves, etc. If I could afford to buy all those materials, I would duplicate that tree in a heart beat.
How many people do you shop with?
