  2. I am always looking for diaper deals for my daughter. For store brands she likes the aldi brand pretty well. But pampers definitely holds more without leaking. So I like to watch cvs to have a deal wh.ere you get ECB back plus use coupons and when lucky a 3/15 CVS coupon to bring it all down a bit in price.

Or if you have a store that doubles the bigger coupons go there if you can. We don't have one around here so I don't know who does.

  3. I have this site open almost all day every day, lmao. I have a ton of holidays & birthdays to buy for plus I start my Christmas shopping in January, lol.

I was supposed to wait till January??????

I already got my kids a game for next Christmas on Target clearance on the 26th... lol

  4. Wow, I was thinking of reporting our UPS driver until reading your post. After receiving 3 really battered up packages (one was left on our doorstep and they didn't even ring the bell). It wasn't listed to be delivered till the next day so I didn't even check, and it rained allllll night! It was a big box with a lot of dolls in it from Amazon and they were all wet as the box was mush and not even sealed up correctly. Then the next day they brought me the Melissa and Doug easel and it had sat in water all day in the truck or something and again, mush. Today it was a box that had been retaped and beat all to heck....a bicycle I'd ordered. They just dropped it, knocked on my door and ran.

My dad works for UPS freight, so I know they get paid well for this job, this driver has been our UPS delivery person for 2 years and last year, was great, we even gave her a Christmas present because she went out of her way to deliver things 'hidden' from the kids. This year I have been really really disappointed, but seeing how your UPS guy went 'postal' I think I'll hold off on calling in on ours LOL.

We did put a big sign on the door to ring the bell for package deliveries and also put some big black trash bags out when it rains so they can protect things if we're not here. Our USPS guy still amazes me though...he goes out of his way to hide things, or puts them in our shed or pool house and leaves us a note. He's great, and he'll still be getting a Christmas gift LOL

what you actually need/should do is report it to the company that shipped them... they paid the UPS system to pick up and deliver... and they can file damage reports, late arrival claims, etc.... and if something is ruined/damaged/etc they will replace and file with UPS for damages.. if they feel UPS is at fault they will instruct you to keep all packaging for 5 business days and may or may send a UPS inspector to look at it...

This keeps you from complaining on the driver and the UPS inspection team figures out which warehouse, truck, etc needs fixed/reprimanded... much better solution ...

  5. I am shocked.... and I deal with UPS on a daily basis as I am a shipping manager with daily pick ups and deliveries at work... well and daily amazon deliveries at home lately :D

I work on the "training" route as we are very close to the center. ONE time in 15 1/2 years I have gotten a driver that was rude... ONE.. .and he wasn't yelling or anything, just rude and was having a bad day. I complained.. it was early in my career in shipping and I didn't know the standards and conditions those drivers work in....

First... the guy for saying one rude thing was disciplined... lost pay.. lost some kind of benefit/privilege/time off something... well he was angry, and rightly so... that was too much punishment for just being in a bad mood. He came and apologized to me. I appreciated it and when I got my morning delivery driver the next day I said "wow, he apologized, that meant so much"... well the guy got in more trouble cause he was told to not bring it up and he was written up for bringing it up and he got switched to a crappy route that paid less.

Now, I know that if it's a bad day for a driver I will wait till the next day... but I haven't had that issue again. Ever... and our drivers are so friendly and professional and honestly I don't think any UPS driver would risk his route to open or deliver an opened package. And they don't have time to run out, esp if you are outside of town, to keep hoping to find you home for redelivery.

It's been proven that during recessions/Christmas/etc that people do LOOK for boxes that UPS drivers drop off, sometimes even follow their routes. I am surprised whoever opened it put it under the porch so they must have been close by when someone came home or the driver went back down the road cause at least they got it someplace safe.

And this time of year.... too many packages going out and businesses tape too quickly. Tape pulls up on it's own.. and once it's started even a small child can pull it off... esp Amazon tape... my 4 year old granddaughter can open them like nobody's business and she learned that the Amazon boxes have toys and to go after them... so now I have to hide them better.....

If the driver yelled then he was probably as frustrated for getting called on the carpet for something he didn't do as you were at finding your things dirty and opened...

I saw drop it unless it happens again... times are tough, people have short tempers due to holiday stress... delivering UPS has to stink this time of year... I think I should make our drivers at work some cookies too.... good idea Jen....

OH... and maybe for the lady that delivers to my house? She's a sweetie.... even though we are at the end of her route... I told the hubby to flirt with her to get an earlier delivery time.... but either he didn't try it or she was just too professional... lol

  6. My sister and I have Brad to thank for a peaceful morning at Walmart. There were long lines everywhere and people got into actual fights at Kmart. Even parts of Walmart were chaos, but I didn't suffer from that thanks to Brad!!!!

Here's how it all happened... I got up at 2:15 am (after going to bed at 11pm) and we headed out just before 3 for an hour drive to go shopping. Since it was very warm today for Black Friday I wore a long sleeve T-shirt with my GD BF shirt over it. I didn't need a coat/jacket... because it was warm and we were waiting at WM first.

My neice wanted LEI jeans and I wanted the HP printer/scanner/copier for 29.99. We get there and they gave us a map. No "control" by the clothing so we picked up the jeans and got them in our cart at 4 am.....then we went back to the printers. As we walk up the 398 desktops are next to them and a guy is ripping the plastic off. He sees me and just stares for a minute trying to hide what he did and started whispering to the guy next to him and they didn't do anything else but stand there nicely. My sister stood across the aisle in the clothing dept for me to hand the printers over...I just backed up to the skid and leaned against it for a place to "rest" for an hour...

There was chaos in electronics, toys, etc.. people pushing, shoving blocking the aisles with carts.. typical Black Friday. But "my" skid and the ones on either side of me were great. And I just stood there.. no one crowded me...no one was rude...no one tried to sneak a printer out

    Do you know why?

Well a man that I used to go to church with came along and I was talking to him. He said "how long you been working here" and I said "I don't". He said 'OH are you volunteering' and pointed to my GD shirt. Apparently I looked very "official" and no one messed with me or "my" skid...

I owe my thanks to BRAD for making this all possible... lol

  7. both of DH's grandma's bdays are Dec 18, gpa's are Nov 12/Dec 8, niece is Dec 28, and then we have 2 sisters, a brother, 2 sons, and a nephew in Jan...

We do our sons bdays (5th/14th) on the weekend closest to the 14th to give them more time after Christmas and we make sure to buy them something totally different than anything they got for Christmas to try to make it more exciting for them.

Our niece on the 28th of Dec always gets the marked down makeup/bath sets from the half off sales. I bet that gets really old really fast... she will be 13 this year so I am considering getting her something that goes along with the age to make it "fun".... like 13 small items or a 13.00 gift card.... or something silly cause her mom insists on doing it ON her bday so it doesn't mess up Christmas or New Years.... and I think she gets "cheated" cause she gets cheesy gifts from the makeup/perfume and whatever else "girly" that happens to be left over.

And I can't stand things being wrapped in Christmas paper for the 2 gmas or her... drives me crazy.... and one of the gmas will complain too... said she never got anything growing up unless it was for "both" but her sisters got just as much for Christmas as she did for a combo so she likes it separate and you better NOT deliver it the same day as the Christmas gifts either... lol

  8. We play a game called pig, take a deck or two of card (depending on how many people) pass out one card to each person. Starting with the dealer pass start another card around the table, as the dealer looks at the card and passes it they take another card and pass it. So multiple cards are being passed at the same time. When someone gets a pair they lay down the card and put their finger on their nose. Everyone around the table passes cards and watches for someone to put their finger on their nose. If you see someone do this you put your finger on your nose. The last person to put their finger on their nose is out. Then you deal again, start passing and keep going until one person is left, they are the winner.

It is fun to watch how many people keep passing cards when others have their finger on their nose. It is a concentration game that requires everyone to mutli-task.

When we play the kids can play too, this makes it fun for them because usually they are left to play games on their own.

we have done this similar but with sets of 4 (2 decks of cards) and spoons.. 1 less spoon than person playing... you can "sneak" the spoon out and keep passing cards and the last one gets no spoon and is eliminated....

  9. Hey sorry to hear that about the holiday blues. I love holidays but sometimes the stress makes me crazy..... and I feel down then.... so what I do is make a list of everything I need to do for the upcoming holiday and make a budget if it's a gift giving or big food holiday where I need extra supplies.... and I keep an up to date calendar of what is going to happen when. I allow plenty of time for each thing and mark through it as it's complete and keep the list going so I can see how much I have accomplished and what little is left to do ....

That might help if it's stress of oh my gosh look how much has to happen in a short time....

Another thing is when we changed clocks this week everyone at my house is pretty blah from the it doesn't feel like this time.... and I am sure that will pass in a few days when they get used to it....

When all else fails come here and vent :)

  10. My husband tends to try to overbuy and spoil me so I always shop first (just because of good deals here) and he says "how much did you spend" and I give him a low number because I know he can't follow the rules but likes to be "equal" so if I spent 150 I'll tell him 100 so he can "go over" without me feeling guilty that he spoils me so much. :)
  11. You know yesterday Kohl's delivered an order to me damaged, but not necessarily beyond repair.... I called and they credited me and resold me the same item and marked it down to the same price I paid and didn't mention what to do with the damaged item

I thought that meant throw it out (or fix and keep) but he didn't say at all so I said "before you go I need to know what to do with the one you sent me" Then he said, you can repair it, fix it and keep it, or donate it somewhere. It's yours, we don't want it back so you get to decide.

Had I not asked i would have felt guilty keeping it even to throw away ... because once he credited me it was no longer mine, in my mind.

So if I would make someone answer me over a 9.00 item I would certainly go back to pay for the camcorder... :)

  12. I wouldn't say it was stealing because you intended to pay for it. However I wouldn't just keep it either. But then I never would have made it past checkout because I keep myself on a strict budget and know within a dollar or two what my total will be at any given store, even when I have 2 carts of groceries at a time. Plus I keep an eye on everything as it rings up because I have too often been cheated the other way..... so I would see her not ring it up and say something right then and there....

Now should I decide to keep it... Karma can really bite cause it would probably quit after I had spent the money originally allocated for it and then I wouldn't be able to get warranty service on it.... cause I guess I have "reverse Karma" lol
