  1. Thanks for the tip ... I'm not a huge fan, but for .99 it's worth it!! I expected to have problems downloading due to heavy traffic, but the downloads were quick. I sent it to my cloud drive and downloaded from there. The only problems I encountered were the 2 songs with foreign characters in them - they didn't come as mp3 files - wierd. I just went to the cloud player and they played fine - I downloaded those 2 from there with no problems. I didn't realize it until after I made the purchase, but when you buy the album, you get a 20GB cloud drive for a year instead of the 5GB that you normally get for free. Good deal all around!
  2. Shiloh59 - I got some at 5:30 am and the pages were extremely slow to load up. I just went back and got some more ... chose gift certificates for myself so I don't have to pick the restaurant til later. Are there any good restaurants in Greenwood that have certificates? I'm in Martinsville ... got some to Wasabi in Castleton and for Melting Pot, but I'm not familiar with most of the restaurants listed.
  3. It is a great show - well worth 22 bucks to get the whole season. Make sure to pay attention or you'll miss some little detail that later turns out to be important.
  4. Walmart has a nice stainless/brushed aluminum looking one - not sure of the price, but I remember it was under $30. Just saw it yesterday
  5. Sams Club has a cool one - I think its around 130, but it was much nicer looking (modern style which I like) - kind of a clear lucite style frame, and it plays mp3s and videos too!! They had it in stores and online
  6. For the craft stuff, make sure to use the 40% off coupons from Joann fabrics, michaels, and hobby lobby. Hobby Lobby coupons are available online (generally available every second week) - can print out multiples. JoAnn Fabrics & Michaels will take each other's as well as the Hobby Lobby coupons, but HL will only take their own.
  7. Any idea if the Wii will be in the stores or just online like the ps3?? BTW - Go to Costco when you get hungry - they always have great samples!! Fill up with the samples as appetizers, then get a hotdog and a bottomless soda for 1.50 - can't beat that price!!
  8. Frys was new in Indy last year and I was out of town, so I didn't see their ad. Under normal circumstances, Fry's has 3 ads/week in the Indianapolis Star. Wednesday - a 1 page ad on the back of the first section of the paper. Friday - the entire second section of the paper is a multi-page Fry's ad Sun - the back page of the 2nd section of the paper (also available on Saturday in the early edition of the Sun paper). I have no idea what changes there will be for the Frys ads for Thanksgiving week - if I see anything, I'll post it (assuming I'm in town - still not sure of my holiday plans) Just a reminder for all rebates on items purchased at Fry's - fill out the rebate receipt and ALSO include a copy of the invoice/receipt with all rebate submissions just to be sure - some require one or the other and some require both. One more tip - I have tried other paperless office progs, but I find Paperport the most useful for keeping track of my rebate scans (due to the ability to stack pages).
  9. Actually, many of them are actually Frys rebates ... good for purchases made at Frys. And the rebates do seem to take forever to get or are denied. This opinion is based on my own personal experience with Frys rebates - I'm not generalizing based on info that I've heard that may or may not be true. I'm very careful with my rebates and keep copies of everything (including the date that I mailed in the rebate) - I even have all of my rebates hand-stamped at the counter so that I know exactly what day they get postmarked. However, 2 weeks ago I had to call to ask a question about an incorrect rebate form (that's their other problem - giving rebates forms that are close, but not actually the right rebate) and the person there said that I could bring in all my info and they would try to track down the problem and if they couldn't, they would give me the rebate money. Maybe they changed their policy, because in August I tried to do just that and they wouldn't help me. I figure as long as I keep all my documentation, it's fraudulent advertising if I am unable to get the rebate after meeting all requirements, so hopefully they'll be standing behind their advertisements from now on
  10. I'm in Indianapolis. Fry's ads run in the Indianapolis Star on Wednesdays, Fridays (this is the big ad) and Sundays. You can get the early edition of the Sunday paper on Sat afternnon and view the ad then. I probably won't be in town on Thanksgiving, so I can't scan in the ad for ya - if I were in town, that's probably where I'd go on BF
  11. Wow - I've never been able to get them to transfer the warrantee to the new unit - we always had to buy a new one (even though I specifically asked). BTW - a couple years ago we got an expensive HP printer at BB. It was considerably cheaper at the Microcenter that was just around the corner, so we asked them to price match. They refused because it was such a big difference. I was about to make a big stink about it - after all, there was an enormous sign right above their heads with the policy on it and nowhere did it say they would only pricematch if it was only a couple bucks - anyway, as I was saying, I was just about to make a huge stink about it when I heard the manager tell the CS rep that they would match it if I purchased the extended warrantee. That tells me that even though some people take full advantage of the warrantees and actually get their stuff replaced, it is still clearly a huge moneymaker for them. I was told by someone who works at a big box electronics store that for many items they only sell them so they can sell the extended warrantees - in other words, they make more money off of the warrantee than off of the sale of the item!
  12. Here's a suggestion - if you've gotta camp out, better to camp out INSIDE a store that's open 24 hours ... like a Meijers or inside a mall if it's open ... they have public bathrooms and you can always go get refreshments (that is if you trust someone to hold your place in line). Plus, you can get lawn chairs/pillows, etc to make you more comfy ... I plan on grabbing myself a beanbag chair or a huge throw pillow - and I'll actually buy it instead of just using it while I'm there!!! The lines for the presale at ToysRUs were at least 30 deep at 6 pm the night b4, and the store opened at 8am - and it was freezing!
  13. Different stores do different things. Generally what BB does is at some point b4 they open - maybe 45 min if I recall, they started coming out (not all at the same time). Each salesperson had a pile of vouchers for 1 item only. They started at the front of the line and gave them to the people who wanted them and continued toward the back of the line (OK they didn't get too far down the line) until they ran out. They also were out there early signing people up for the credit cards. I've been at the front of the line the past 3 years (at 3 different locations in 3 cities in 2 states), and tall 3 years they also handed out store maps with the locations of many of the sale items specifically marked. I'm not sure how far back in the line they went with the maps though. Basically it was just one voucher per item per person, but you could get vouchers for as many different items as you wanted. There might have been a limit on the computers - like you could only get a voucher for one of the 2 laptops being offered - or something like that, but I don't think it was actually enforced.
  14. My dad's had excellent luck with BB ext.warr. ... he destroyed every Palm & Clie he ever owned - and they had clear signs of abuse. Each time, the model was no longer sold, so they just gave him the amount he paid as a store credit ... they didn't even require him to put it toward the purchase of a new one (although he did). Of course, I didn't have good luck with my phone - they wouldn't take care of it themselves like they promised when I bought it - they changed their policy and I had to jump thru hoops to get a replacement. They tried to give me a phone with FEWER features, NOT an upgrade but in my opinion a downgrade - but I complained enough to get a new one. The damaged floor model TV that we bought cheap developed a problem and we took it in and they fixed it no problem. I'm not sure how they do with digital cameras anymore ... they used to replace the batteries for you 1x/year. Unless it's an incredible deal at BB, I'd recommend getting a digital camera at Ritz or Circuit City - both warrantees cover ALL damage except fire and theft - in other words, if you drop it, they will still fix it free. For the cost, Circuit City seems to have the best deal - if I recall, for the same price, it was good for 4 years as opposed to 2 (of course it would be technologically obselete by that time). Of course if you get a camera like the Olympus 720SW, it's shockproof for like a 10' drop and it's immersible - good for underwater pics ... it looks like it's pretty indestructible! OK - that's off topic, but it's my 2 cents worth!!
  15. Does anyone know if WM (brick & mortar or web) will be doing presales of PS3? Will they just have them available in stores on the 17th or what. I just wanna know how they handle it. I'd rather be warm and camp out in the aisle inside the 24 hr WM instead of camping outside at BB or something. Thanks
