Both of them are equally good. I have the Nook and the reason I chose the Nook last year was because you can borrow books from your public library for free thru Overdrive.com. As of September 2011 you can now borrow books on the Kindle also. I am getting my DD13 a Kindle only because I buy more books for her from Amazon (no tax) as opposed to Barnes and Noble (pay tax) Contact your local library if you are interested in library ebook borrowing. If your local library does not do it there may be another library that does. I lie in Pennsylvania and my local library does not have ebook. As a resident of PA I was able to get a free library card for the Free Library of Philadelphia and I borrow thru them. Out of State residents can also join but they pay a fee.

My DD13 wants a monkey this year for Xmas!!! She also wants a futon/couch to turn her bedroom into a livingroom. She was easier to shop for when she was younger!!!

Thanks I saw that. DH won't allow me to buy refurbished, we have had no luck with previous purchases that were refurbished.

Last year Walmart had an Emerson for $198 so I am figuring there may be lower this year.

Hello, just saw this thread. How is this computer. I am looking to replace DD13s laptop. Hers is running hot and keeps shutting down on her. When my laptop last year started that eventually the harddrive went. I was thinking of getting this for her. She does Facebook, emails, surf and does projects for school on Word or similar. DH would take her old one and run it until it dies at his Dad's during the week. It would save me from not having to get him the Kindle Fire, or a Roku box. All these decisions, but this is a great price for the laptop. Any thoughts???

DS has asked for a Turtle Beach headset. I think he would prefer wireless. What is so special about them?? I see online that other headsets are lower in price but the Turtle Beach cheapest wireless is almost $100. I pre ordered COD and got a $10 credit on a Turtle Beach head set but the lowest priced one is wired for $99. HELP!!!!

I had clicked the coupon on the previous Tide that was listed for $5.99, but the coupon would not work. I ended up ordering under DH account. THis time when I went the coupon popped up from before so I was able to use it.

I really like the Asus Transformer. Just waiting until their announcement on Wednesday the 9th to see if the new one will be out for Xmas, otherwise I would like to order the bundle from Newegg that has the keyboard dock with the 32gb. I hope it will still be available then.

We have been looking at the Asus Transformer tablet with docking keyboard for our soon to be 16 DS. We want him to be able to write his papers while out on the long trips with his varsity swim /tennis teams. By the time he gets home he has no time to transcribe (pen/paper) papers onto his computer to print for school, this way he types it up, loads on an sd card puts on desktop and prints. I saw the netbook Target will have on Sunday and was wondering if something like that would be able to run a word processing program to do what we want. Any help would be great on this. Thanks

I bought the same TV in 2006. It is used everyday and I have no problems. It is in our master bedroom and is on approx 4/5 hours each day and we have not had any spots etc. Problem we have had is with the DVR/cable box from the cable company it has been changed 2x since 2006. If I needed another TV would not hesitate to get it for my bedroom. I love it!!!!

Walmart has it with a $50 itunes gift card this week too. I am hoping. NOt sure if we are getting the ipad, leaning more towards Asus Transformer just because it has a keyboard docking station.

Kinect is wonderful. My Daughter loves it. MY DS does not play it unless DD starts then he joins in :)
