  1. I have had fairly good luck with Brother for laser printers. There ink jets are supposed to have low priced ink, and that is what you want to check first as a printer that is 3 times more expensive but has cheap ink will be much cheaper in the long run. Remember you should be able to get at least 10 sets of ink (if not used often) out of a printer, but if you use it often it could be hundreds of cartriges. So the price of the ink cartridges is very important, and the printer price is not. The ink is more expensive than Dom Perignon, when you calculate it by the ounce. The big thing is if you do not use them often then they will likely clog from sitting. There are programs that will spit out a sheet once a day using all the ink cartridges, and this can some times make them last longer because they wont clog but you will use a lot more ink. In general all ink jet printers are not very long lasting. I have only heard bad stuff about Dell printers, in fact never have I heard of some one liking one, and I support some Dell equipment. I would suggest Epson, HP, Cannon and Brother in that order from my personal experience. Epson seems to have the best output, and fairly cheap ink available, but do tend to clog. HP is a but more reliable but output is generally not nearly as good, and ink is more. Canon and Brother are some ware between them comparing similar priced units. I don't like AIOs as one part goes bad, then you have to replace the whole thing. I prefer a scanner (they seem to last forever), and printer. I have not had to actually fax something in years, just attach the scan to an email. (gross generalizations, but from my experience working on computers for the past 20 years) As to the OP, I used to recommend Dell, but can't any more. They used to be supported out of Texas and it was great, but then it got outsourced to India, then to the Philippines soon it will get outsourced back to us as the weak dollar will make it cheaper. I have had good luck with HP and got an old system free third or fourth hand and I called HP for kicks and giggles to see how much the system board was and they said it was covered for 7 years due to a bad batch capacitors, and I had a board for free the next day delivery! They very well may get my business, but really none of the companies seem to stand behind there product except Apple.
  2. I have a Sandisk that was about $15 for a 2 gig, and another 12 for an additional 2 gigs, so I have to say for 2 gig music player for $27 is hard to beat. I use Rockbox firmware and it allows video on it. Though I also have an older sandisk e130 that only has 512 K but takes regular SD cards, and is powered by AAA batteries (I already have rechargeable ones) I like it because you can just change the battery and keep on going. It runs for around 12 hours on one, so it works well and I mostly use the radio to listen to NPR. That said I think I am getting a new I phone when they come out next month.
  3. You used to be be able to do it many times as long as you used a different email address, but now they track it using the credit card # as well. I am good for another one because they just sent me a new credit card because my local grocery store got hacked and the cc numbers got stolen. I have never had an issue with buy.com not shipping to my job. I don't like UPS becase they will not leave a package without a signature. The UPS depot that services my house is about 40 miles away, so it blows any hot deals shipped UPS.
  4. They make 4 cup makers and they make a good cup of coffee. By the way the "cup" the coffee makers talk about is not really a cup, but about 6 ounces. Most coffee mugs are much bigger so a 4 cup maker makes about 2 cups. I would suggest a full size coffee maker as if they ever have company over they will not have to wait for many cups. I personally like my Kitchen Aid as it makes a pot very quickly. (got it for $10 at Lowes on mark down) I also liked my old Bun and it was the best, but kind of expensive and only good for big coffee drinking households. (really need to use it for a full pot everyday or the water gets stale in the unit) Any good name brand should be ok. I have had Krups, Braun, and about all the others. The Bun is the only one that looks like it would last longer than the others. If you live with hard water they do not last much more than a year if you use them a lot. If they are serious about coffee then a good burr grinder is more important than the coffee maker. This can be used for regular coffee as well as espresso.
  5. I have even had them take the other store's money off coupons, even though their price is lower to start with. (I get $1 off 2 eight o'clock coffee coupons at both Stop and Shop and Price Chopper because I have bought them there before) I have never tried buy one get one free though.
  6. Yea if you don't have it paid off in 3 years, you will be buying a new one before this one is paid for! Though that is the American way! This should work as long as you get the projector returned. Though I have to say projectors are way cool! I love mine. Big screen where ever I go! put a sheet outside on the side of the house for a back yard drive in! They should not give you a hard time as long as you do not open it.
  7. Yea that is exactly what it is (same company)! Costco > BJ's > Sams. though they all have advantages. I wish there was a Costco near me. Closest one is 45 min away.
  8. Don't forget that they had a breach in security not too long ago that hackers were able to get hundreds of Credit cards. I still will not use a credit card there. I had to get 2 new cards and an ATM card because of them. WE have a Marshalls, TJ Max, AJ Wright and Home Goods all within easy drive of where I live, shop there a lot!
  9. Sears has gone down hill since their merger with KMart. Just ask anyone who works there. Even the tools look to be slipping very quickly. The chrome is already flaking on some sockets I bought during the holidays. Was going to take them back but all that they had were the same. GRR Too bad they do have some very good hot deals! I would take it back. Look for an older lady that looks like they have been there for a while and might remember what Sears used to be. I have found them to be better at taking returns. They seem to try to hold on to the old policies. Kind of like Willie Loman!
  10. Just a bit over $100 http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=174315&cm_keycode=85&linkid=j13459594k39085&affiliateid=k39085&mid=
  11. That should be Wow-Wee that is a good deal! I paid $99 last December. My kids played with it a few times ad put it away. I was upset because they played with the robot they got the year before a lot.
  12. Edinburgh, IN? My great grandparents were from there! I think it is so funny there is a outlet mall there. I rember going there as a child and thinking the town was so small!
