  1. I found a wine cooler at 50% off. It was like the red one people were finding a while back but it's silver. I'm waiting, hoping for 75%. I really want one of these for DH for Christmas.

I found some boys underwear at 50% off today too. Not huge, but great for me since I needed to buy some anyway. I found three packs of Batman, Superman and the Power Rangers for $2.88.

Hey do you happen to have that code for that wine cooler? I tried to get that when everyone was posting a while back also. I so need that for my wine...:yup: Thanks

  2. I went looking for those glove compartment organizers and found a Rubbermaid Thermo-Electric Cooler/Warmer car organizer thing marked down from $99 to $24.98. It'll be great for keeping all those juice boxes cool on road trips this summer :D

Hey great find:D Wish i could of seen those today. I did see those fire safes but it rang up $199 so i passed. No m&m juices at the store today.

  3. I was a certified child passenger safety tech, I let my certification lapse because of a cross-country move and then pregnancy.

And they aren't really safety problems, just problems that just don't make the seat worth $150(or more) You can get much better designed seats, and easier to use seats for less than $150.

Well being said i paid less than that $150 :D

Smart shopper here! I still think this seat Rocks for us as a family and like i said i had the Britax and loved that too.So really money is not the thing here for us we just loved the seat..

  4. Well, my information is from personal tech experience with the seat. However, if you want a few more opinions, ask at that website(go to the forums and ask on the carseat forums)

Oh ok your experience. Well that is very nice of you to give your info but we do love our seats and i think we well just enjoy them. Still no problem with our seats nor my friends. Wonder why they sell them on the market if they have so many problems:eyepoppin Thats really hard for me to swallow we got them from Babies R Us too.
  5. Check at the aforementioned link. Or epinions. Or even put your child in the seat, as a booster seat, so you can see the problems I mentioned.

But really, it's opinion of mine(shared by many other techs). As a tech, I groaned every time I saw one of those darned things in a car. I hate them with every inch of my being. That and the old Century Breverras. So glad those are mostly expired now.

And the No, did that mean the police officer was not trained? If he wasn't trained, then you need to find someone who actually is trained.

Ok so we went there to the site and can't find anything that supports what your saying? Oh and heaven Yes that man sure was. Sorry but im a mom of 2 and would want that for the safety of my babies. Still looking for that site info...:g_think: We really love our seats and just the other day my best friend got her son the same model and well she has it in booster mode, she loves her's so i will think my daughter should have no problem. We shall see the outcome when that day arrives:D
  6. Was your child IN the seat when it was checked? Was the officer a trained child passenger safety technician? If not, then you really need the seats re-checked. I just find it seriously hard to believe your 36lbs child isn't too tall for the seat. Like I said, most of the time, the seat is outgrown by height by the time the child is 3.

Okay, The seat sucks as a booster because the lap belt portion of the seatbelt ends up sitting too high on the child, and it doesn't actually touch the child in the right spot(across the upper thighs) With the AO(and really, most combination seats, even those with arm rests) this is a problem. It's why dedicated boosters are really the best way to go. Also, the shoulder belt also gets held away from the child, it should actually be touching the child at the shoulder. This doesn't happen very often with the AO.

The AO says it's a multi-purpose seat, but it does none of the purposes well. It's too big and bulky while rearfacing, too short of harness slots for forward facing, and doesn't function well as a booster. Plus, add in the twisty straps and non-removable cover, and really, it's just not that great of a seat for the price tag.

Yes and No and Yes So it's all good thanks so much for your info. And sorry i really love our seat. I Had a Britax and love it too. So again you got this site that states it sucks? My Husband and i want to check it out.:D
  7. Serrina, you should really go anyway, because the Alpha Omega is probably the most mis-used and wrongly installed carseat out there right now. And it really sucks as a booster seat, so then you could possibly get some ideas on what to use once your child does hit 40lbs, or outgrows the AO in height, which usually happens by the time a child is 3 or so.

In fact, everyone should go to one, because the 90% statistic of carseats being used or installed incorrectly is definitely true in everything I've seen. In fact, I think with all the carseat checks I did, I had 1 installation come in 100% correctly, and it was a booster seat.

Why does it suck as a booster seat? Where does it say this please give me this site...I took it into the police station today, and my Husband so rocks on putting it in the right way:D Thank Goodness...
  8. Part of getting good deals is using coupons in conjunction with some of the clearance items.

This is an aspect of perimeter perusing and shopping at Target. I value all of the posts regarding ALL of the issues of shopping at Target. I get very frustrated when posts are moved or deleted.

Last night I also got the 24 regular rolls of Quilted Northern for $3.44. They were on the endcap in the cleaning supplies area.

I noticed that at the Target I was at that flashlight were going on clearance. There were some large mag lites that were 30% off. Also there were some smaller kids flashlights that were beginning their clearance run.

I think the deals goes in shifts. Right now the big clearance items at the Target I was at last night was: cosmetics - lots of Almay products were 75% off - as well as many other brands, stationary - most of the items we saw last night were 50 - 75% off. I noticed that Juicy Juice was 30% off of the 10 pack juice boxes.

Yes but this is a separate coupon threard right?:smart:

  9. I'm sorry, but you really need to read the instructions that came with your seat, because there is not a single harnessed seat out there that actually harnesses to 100lbs(Britax is the closest, with a seat that harnesses to 80lbs). Unless you have the Cosco Apex Eddie bauer, you can not use the harness on your seat past 40lbs, you need to remove the harness, and use your seat as a booster.

    You can go to http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/people/injury/childps/CPSFittingStations/CPSinspection.htm

And find an inspection station near you to have your installation checked.

Ok i see now its 40lbs but i still can wait a while since she is only 36lbs and my son is 28 so i still have some time. No need for me to go see anyone , My husband does a really good job with the new car seats.:smart:

  10. How old are your kids?

The reason I ask is because my 11 1/2 yr old weighs around 90 pounds and it would not be pretty if I tried to wrestle her in a 5 pt harness car seat, lol.

2yr old and 4 yr old and she is short and weighs 36lbs . Don't get me wrong i just think 5 points are the best to keep your kids safe until they reach that certain poundage. I wish hey could just stay small.:yup: Mine daughter would not fly with that either, wish i could do it.

  11. Five point harnesses are usually only used until a child reaches 40 pounds ( or possibly up to 60 with a Britax), and a certain height limit (of which I am not sure). My child is too big for a five point harness. He is currently on his fourth car seat. After his infant seat, and next traditional toddler carseat, I bought him a toddler booster with a 5 point harness. He has since outgrown that, so the next safest option is a high back booster that positions the car seat belt safely. In my state, it has become a law that children must ride in a car seat or booster until 9 years of age or 80lbs. Surely you wouldn't expect a child that big to be in a 5 point harness, would you?

First of all my 2 kids are in a Eddie Baur 5 point harness and its until they are 100 lbs and so thats what i know! And Surely to your remark sorry i don't think you need to be so rude:D

  12. My husband and I had a great find at the Springfield (Ohio) Target today! I've been looking for one of those train tables since after Christmas when everyone was talking about getting them, but I never had any luck finding one. Tonight I did. It was on the bottom shelf back by toys and the clearance sticker said $55.99. I made hubby drag it over to a scanner only to realize that someone had torn off the barcode. A Target guy saw us trying to price it and came over and said "the tag on it says $55.99." I explained to him how several people I "knew" had been buying them for around $20 and I wanted to scan just to see. Well, since there was no barcode we couldn't. I was ready to abandon it, but he said it had been there a long time and was probably at 90% off. Well, that got my attention, but then he said he'd give it to me for $20. WTH? I said, what about that 90% off you just mentioned? Then he punched it in his scanner and it was coming up full price. (79.99) I told hubby it was up to him. He asked the guy if he really wanted to get rid of it. He said "I do". Hubby said "How about 10 bucks?" The guy said,"okay, I can do ten" and he went and got a flat cart and took it to the register. Well, when he got up there he told the girl to just give it to us for 90% off. I was HAPPY! I wasn't done shopping though, so hubby went to pay and take it out to the car. It turned out to be an even better deal than expected!! The cashier took 90% off of the lowest clearance price!!! ($55.99) We only paid $5.59 for an $80 table!!!!:bunny: Now that's exciting!:D Now if I can only figure out where to put the darn thing!

I got a few other good deals too. I got a couple perfume sets for 75% off, some lotion marked down to $2.xx and I had a $1 coupon, some razors marked to $4.18 and I had a $1 coupon for those too. I also found some ice scrapers that have really warm glove type things on them for $1.48. They were normally around $10. I bought several of those to use as stocking stuffers next year :)

SO LUCKY !!! i WANT ONE OF THOSE FOR MY KIDS SO BAD. gREAT FIND:fluffy: i JUST LOVE A GREAT DEAL:YUP:
