  1. I'll probably try and do my black friday shopping on line this year. Unless there are some big "wow"s with Wal-mart, Target or Kohl's, there isn't a whole lot of things that have interested me. Maybe I'm just a "debbie downer" because of the earlier starting times.
  2. Just a reminder! Anyone that will be shopping at Belk during their Black Friday door busters, please note that the coupon will not work on these sale prices. It excludes the door busters, early birds, clearance, etc. It is only good for regular price items and regular sale items, which means that you can hardly use the coupon for anything until around 2:00 pm on Friday afternoon. It tells you all the exclusions in the fine print!
  3. Nope. I'm not excited at all, and that is a bummer. I loved going out on Black Friday when you got up early and were there when the stores opened up at "5:00 a.m.". Now it's just not as fun to me to have to rush through family time and Thanksgiving dinner to get deals that you can get probably cheaper two weeks before Christmas.
  4. I just really think that this has gotten out of hand. I thought last year opening at midnight was pushing it a bit, but come on, 5:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day??
  5. Well I know for a fact the Belk Department store will open at 8:00 p.m on Thanksgiving night. Last year they didn't open till Midnight. It's a shame the employees can't enjoy a day off with their families. I wish Black Friday would go back to the way it use to be and open at 5:00 am. To me that was fun and exciting. Now it's just not worth it much.

    Belk

I work at a Belk store and I know that they will be opening at midnight. I know, because I have to be there at 11:30 p.m. This will be the 1st Black Friday in over 10 years or more that I will not be able to shop! Such a sad sad day for me.
  7. I'm 50 years old and from Smyrna, Tennessee and I've been shopping on Black Friday for the last 20 years! The last 5 years I've had to work the night shift on Black Friday at a clothing store. This year may be the 1st year that I will not be able to participate in the tradition, since our store is opening up at midnight! But if that is the case, I'll have my surrogates out there gathering the deals!
  8. I agree with you doublehsmom. There has been nothing that has gotten me really excited. I'm crossing my fingers that Target and Walmart will have something really special.
  9. Is it just me, or are the ads that have been linked kind of "underwhelming"? Maybe I'm just getting old, but I think the stores had a lot better deals last year than what I'm seeing this year.
  10. I'm really needing a Madden 12 game for X-box 360 this year. Last year I know that Walmart had Madden 2011 for black friday and I'm hoping that this year it will be listed as well. If anybody hears about a bargain for that game, can they let me know?
  11. I was really excited about the Kohls ad having programable crock pots for $9.99, until I read the fine print that says "AFTER $10.00 MAIL IN REBATE". Burst my happy bubble right then and there.
  12. I agree with the prices being the same as they are now. I know last year I bought pajama sets there for $9.99 and they are advertising them as $19.99 this ad. I believe this will be the case throught the other stores as well. Prices really went up this year on everything.
