This is the response I got from Smith and Hawkens regarding the three pack of herbs in the ceramic pots that was recalled: I have contacted Target who advised the reason the items were pulled from the shelf was due to a labelling issue. In the State Of New York, plant items are required to have a "sell by" date on the package. I appreciate your patience while I researched this matter. I went to Target this morning and the herb three packs of rye, catgrass and lemongass were still on the shelves. I tried to purchase it again and the manager said it is recalled; he didn't know why. I did purchase the flower pot lettuce one, which is also Smith and Hawkens.

Yes, they are the ones, the Smith and Hawkens in the three glazed pots. They were rye grass seed, catgrass and lemongrass. I told the salesgirl that I saw them at about $11 and waited for them to go lower. I asked what happens to the ones that were sold for $11; will there be a recall on them? I was allowed to buy the Smith and Hawkens Salad Mix Seed Kit which is in a tall flower pot.

I went to two Targets today and neither of them would let me purchase the grass/herb kits. The salesperson said they were recalled but didn't know why.

I forgot to use my coupon and went back the next day and told them I had forgotten to use it and they gave me credit for it. I don't think you have anything to lose to go to cs the next time you are there and tell them.
