  1. Home Depot has some great sales on BF! My family already thinks I am crazy for all the BF shopping, but they are boggled that I also stop at Home Depot...
  2. Thanks for sharing! Hope some more info comes out soon!!!
  3. Oh my gosh - I feel so stupid!!! Thank you. We don't have the big Sears here - so I stopped reading the ad when it got to stuff we don't have.... Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!!!!
  4. Anyone else here shop Shopko? That is where I got my daughters portable DVD player last year. Curious to see what they will have this year. Has to be others out there that shop there too?!?!
  5. I am hoping someone can help me - In the written list of Sears ad it says there will be a Craftsman 19.2 volt cordless drill/driver on sale for 39.99, but I don't see it anywhere in the ad scan? Can anyone clarify this for me, my dh's cordless drill broke (different brand) and thought this would be good for him, but now I don't see it???
  6. I agree with the other posters who say house stuff isn't getting done quickly, heehee. I'm on way too much but I just keep sitting here waiting to see what new stuff appears and thinking of all the stuff that needs to get done...
  7. Not a problem, my older daughter stays home with my little ones too, at first. Then I come back home and get them all, unless we can manage a babysitter for the little ones because she loves to go out on BF also. I need to go without her though to get her presents, lol. Having kids and trying to get out shopping on BF can be quite a job in and of itself!!
  8. So, I am curious as to where you live? Here, in my town 13 is a perfectly acceptable age for a babysitter. Could your oldest babysit your younger children? Just throwing it out there since I don't know all the circumstances. I guess here its not a big deal to leave your younger kids in a car with an older child, nobody even thinks twice about it - but every part of the country is different and it depends on the circumstances.
  9. Does anyone have an idea if this is any good? I am clueless about this stuff and of course my daughter wants an IPOD so bad. Would this be worth it or do I hold out for the ipod?

    Charity and BF

We used to pick a couple angels off the Angel tree, then they changed it to you bring the gifts in to the Salvation Army, which was fine, but when I went there - they were so surprised at my generosity (wasn't even a whole lot there, couple toys and a couple clothes items) they said that some people will only buy like one lipgloss or things like that. They then said that what we buy (at ours anyway) doesn't necessarily go to who is on the tag. They spread everything out and let the parents come in to pick out whatever they want up to a certain limit. They used to do a tree here in our town for senior citizens that were in nursing homes that had no family. That REALLY broke my heart, they didn't even ask for hardly anything, candy, handkerchiefs. I was about crying for them. But, one of our nursing homes said they will take care of their own and the program hasn't been done since. Very sad in my opinion.
  11. Do the F&F sales take place at the locally owned stores? Just curious if they participate or if its up to their discretion.
  12. Mine so far just has Christmas stuff in the lawn and garden section. I asked my dh to keep an eye out in the backroom to the one he goes to (he is a vendor) for bf stuff. Hopefully one of us starts seeing something soon.

    keeping warm...

We live in a small town and if we are at Sears or Shopko, we all kind of sit in our cars and keep giving each other looks about not getting out, its Minnesota for crying out loud, we want to stay warm! So, we all sit in our cars until some yahoo comes tearing into the parking lot, sees the 10 or so cars in the parking lot and goes running up to the door to be first in line. It always starts the lining up frenzy... After that its just hats, gloves and moving around, lol. The handwarmers sound like a good idea though!!!
  14. What I don't like is when people will ask me to pick up something on bf and it is for me for Christmas!! Seems so bizarre to be purchasing your own gift because they didn't want to go and get it. On the flip side, we have Shopko here that they don't, but still.... Other than that, no one in my family really gets excited about bf, but then they all want to know how to get deals like I do
  15. I love BF! My doughter loves BF shopping too and used to go out with me, but now she babysits in the early am while I go and get anything for her. Then I have to come home and pick up her and the two young boys so she can go shopping too. Maybe I'll get lucky this year and someone will want to sleep at my house and babysit by boys in the am, they are 20 mos and almost 5 mos. I miss not being able to take my daughter out with me, but it is nice to buy her stuff without her knowing. Last year we got her a portable DVD player that she was soooo not expecting. I love the surprises on hristmas and would hate to ruin that.
  16. I guess I am glad Kmart didn't have anything worthwhile - now I shouldn't have to worry about how to hit that store also! Hopefully the other stores will be better!
  17. On BF I usually stick to what I know what I need, if I'm lucky I have enough money to cover everything for that day, lol. I shop year round though and store stuff up for last minute occaisions. Love having the generic bath sets and preteen makeup kits around, big hits with my daughters friends.
  18. We have one for our daughter but its a smaller 8' one. We don't have a net for it either. The nice thing about it being smaller is it is for only one person at a time, much easier to keep all the kids off of it that way. Our neighbors have a big one and they have a harder time getting everyone to follow the rules with it. We got ours at Wal-Mart for $40 on clearance.
  19. I go to Sears for their $10 gc - But, I live in a small town, we only have Shopko, Wal-Mart and a locally owned Sears, so only the first 25 people get the gcs. Our Shopko hasn't given away anything for a couple of years, I think the last I remember is the ornaments.
  20. My dh had stopped at Fleet Farm yesterday as we hadn't gotten our catalog yet and they said they weren't allowed to hand them out until Toyland opened on Saturday - that seemed weird to me. But, we got our catalog in the mail yesterday, was excited to get it!! I love going to Fleet Farm - my husband hates it because of the packed aisles. He never thought people went nuts buying toys!! Yeah, its been work opening his eyes!
  21. I Know its only one per household but my daughter wouldn't get one, which would be no big deal, but every other person in line behind her got one even if they were together. She was mad, she had her own money to spend too!
  22. HI! I am from Albert Lea, Minnesota which is about 90 miles south of Minneapolis. I am a SAHM to three kiddos and one big monster dog. My hubby works about 30 miles north of us and can never have BF off, good thing for me my oldest daughter can babysit!! Just tough waking her up in the middle of the night. We are a small town, we have a WalMart - and a locally owned Sears. Thats where I have gone first the last couple of years, got the gc - they only give out 25 here. Hope they do that again this year!! We also have Shopko and Herbergers usually does a 10 off a 10 purchase coupon - that works well! Except last year they made half their store doorbusters which you couldn't use it on... Glad to be here this year.
