If anyone had my name for SS, more than likely AGAIN, the mailman brought it next door so my dogs wouldn't eat it. They are closed today and I will check Monday morning. The wait is driving me nuts! One of the dogs tries to eat everything in sight.

I don't like doing it either. But over the years I have gotten used to it. Dh's family always wants to know what to get you and the kids. So I always have to come up with something.

I try to tip good this time of year. I used to be a waitress and loved getting bigger tips around the holidays.

I thought about the same thing to be honest with you! But the money I'm using for the Christmas party is supposed to goto a safety party. Mainly to be used for food. We have already put up a tree and lights that came from my house. I asked the guys what they want IF I could buy them gifts. All of them said FUN stuff. They are the ones who brought up decks of cards and board games. They work hard all year and their money earned goes towards stuff they have to have. Many of them buy beer everyday. So I guess in their minds beer is just another thing they have to have. Their money is put towards rent or boarding room rent, car note (some have cars and other walk and have bikes). My point is, They wanted fun stuff because usually don't buy themselves fun things. So thats what I bought! I bought books, crosswords, wordfinds, dice, coffee cups with candy in them, checkers, chess, Tv Trivia, diminos, cards and little fun things. My workers do not expect anything from us for christmas. But after we all out up the tree and lights and they thanked me and some saying that our tree may be the only tree they can call their on this year, I wanted to get them gifts. Many of these people do not have homes, so I wanted to get stuff that could go in their backpacks, stuff that could be used/played with while they are waiting for their ticket to go out. I am breaking up the gifts so each of them will get 1 big thing or 2 small things (crossword and the deck of cards) I wanted to get them something to remind them that the world is not all bad. And if I remember correctly, It's not the cost of the gift that matters, IT'S THE THOUGHT! Does any of that make since?

No worries! Dh said he would help me with the breakfast foods. He cooks better than me! I still have 20.00 bucks and have 40 gifts!!! I went to Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Big Lotts, and Tuesday Morning. I split up the playing cards, everyone that i thought there gift was to small, also got a pack of cards. Big Lots had these CSI games marked down for 2.00. Family Dollar has these Sports Trivia games marked down to 1.20. Tuesday Morning had TV Trivia games makred down to 2.99. I am still doing to go to Wlamrt this morning and see what kind of movies they have. I could kick myself for not buying stuff through out the year at Target. I could have gotten them much nicer stuff. Thats what I'm going to do this year and let my manager pay me back when we get our 85.00 safety cards. My manger is taking this vacation the week of 12/21 and suggest that we have the party on the 21st. So I have plenty of time of continue to get things ready. Last week, I had the ones who wanted to help, put of a christmas tree and christmas lights that I brought from home. For some of these people this will be the only tree they see this year. I know that I am putting alot of effort into this party and the gifts, but I need to focus on something. Dec 12 is rolling around fast, thats is aniv. of my dad's death (2 years). I have my mom calling me yesterday telling me that she wants to move into a house right beside me. I think thats great but I think its her grief tallking. I think Dh is sick of me talking about this party, but I need to think about this instead of christmas being different and all of the sadness that now surrounds my mom and this time of year. I need to make someone else feel better to remind me that everything will be okay. Does any of that make sense to you?

My manager is taking his last vacation for the year starting 12/15 (he gets 5) and jsut took 1 week ending 11/30. He wants me to handle the party and everyone on my own. I am thinking of having it 12/21. That morning!

I picked up my ornament this morning. It was delivered to the business next door and I didn't know it. I have all my packages brought over there because if the mailman tosses them in my yard the dogs will get to it before I do. But the mailman didn't leave me a note like he always does, so I didn't know anything about it! I brought the kids to church last night and the lady who works at the business told me about my package!!!! To my ornament exhange person!!!!!! I love the Angel. She is beautiful. When I get home this afternoon I am going to hang her on my tree. Ally saw the box this morning when I picked it up and could not wait for me to open it. We collect fairies and she can't wait to hang the fairy on our christmas tree. She's so pretty and will match everything on my tree perfectly. Thanks again and I am sorry that I kept you waiting so long, but it arrived safe and is great, we love it!

Santa will be at our CVS on Saturday, but we will be at the Doodle Bops.

Need to Buy for 40 Employees on a 100.00 Budget. I know there was another thread for employee gifts, but this is a little different, given that there are 40 and only 100.00 to work with. Most are men and it's day labor. I am hosting a christmas party for our day labor employees. We have around 40 who show up every morning at 5:30 and have since I started working there. We were given a Walmart card for 85.00 from corp. and Dm said he would pitch in 65.00. So on 150.00 I need to buy 40 gifts and food plus drinks. My manager is trading me the Walmart card, so I will have cash to work with and shop where ever. We are having the party in the morning. So the foods will be breakfast pastries and juice, milk and coffee. Most of the guys want fun things and the ladies I have working would like movies. I looked at the Dollar Tree yesterday and found a few things. I was going to play Dirty Santa and have them draw numbers and swap gifts, but now I am thinking about putting their names on each gift and giving that to them. Which one should I do? I need to find cheap movies, games like checkers & chess and crosswords books. Can you think of anything else they might like. I think of the as adult kids! And I think its cute that they want fun stuff. These people work very hard all year long and I wish I had a bigger budget, but thats not the case. I need ideas on where to shop and what to buy. I could buy in bulk and even split up the gifts. I only have like 2.00 per gift. We always have a big Thanksgiving lunch for our workers and buy food for them all year long. I made gift bags for Halloween and started handing out calenders yesterday. I just want everyone to be happy and know how much we appriciate what they do for us everyday.

She really does not have any hobbies. Never been to a spa and does not want to go. She's a great cook, but has everything she needs. She has never touched a computer.

I'm so excited I can't wait to get mine either. My SS got hers and I am so glad she liked it! It really made me feel good to make someone's day!

My mom went all out this year and bought me and DH very expensive watches. Or atleast I know for certain she bought DH a very expensive watch. She spent like 600.00 on him alone. I have a feeling she bought one for me too. and she wants to spend a 100.00 each on both kids. My dad pasted away almost 2 years ago and my mom now spend christmas at my house. Dh and I were talking. I didn't tell him what she got him, but I told him that she spent way to much. She said that she could afford it and loves Dh very much. We always have a lot of gifts under the tree to open up. Dh and I buy each other some small things, so everyone is opening tons of gifts. We want to do the same thing for my mom. She doesn't expect us to spend anywhere near the same amount on her as she did us, she did this only out of love for us. I was able to get a great pair of earrings from Sears on BF, they were already clearenced, plus like 80% off. I bought her a Yankee candle at TJ Maxx. I got her a nice set of sheets. And I bought her a new chopper because hers broke right before Thanksgiving. What else can you think of? I want to buy nice things that don't cost to much. I do not have a set amount to spend. I just want to get her a few more things. What else should I buy?

I agree, give him the wii. I don't this christmas should be used as a reward or a punishment. I think that the 250 WII and some games to go with it is more than enough. He has to understand that his 1 thing cost more them all the other stuff. My DS9 understands that.
