  1. I am finally home....with a Wii! I was 1st in line,I got there at 4:15,I thought they were opening at 6...LOL...I am glad I got there so early.I was there for an hour before anyone else showed up.

They gave out tickets (well flyers with numbers on them),thank God,if not it probably would've gotten ugly because they only had 7.They had 20-some of the tv's.That was a nice loooking tv,if I'de had the extra $$ I probably would have gotten one.

I am so sorry to those that didn't get one :( I have spoken to 2 Gamestops and they are supposed to have them tomorrow morning. That was my plan B.

    Don't give up!

  2. Obviously, much of this is just my opinion, but it is an opinion that has been formed from hours and hours of reading at avsforum, combined with my own experience. Hopefully it helps clear things up a little, and at the very least help people realize that there are LOTS of things to consider when debating LCD or plasma.

Thank you very much for adding your opinion,I appreciate it alot!

You've given me alot more to think about!

  3. The Sharp I was referring to is the 46" Aquos for $999 which is an awesome deal. Pany makes a good tv as well. I have a 53" rear projection HD Pany that is two years old and still looks great. Plasmas have a great picture but if it's going to be a daily use tv then the plasma will not hold up and is very susceptible to burn-in from video games. The forum I posted is one of the best when it comes to HD stuff, ask the pros over there what their opinion is. Also I know it will be next to impossible to stand in front of a couple different sets on BF with the rush but if you can go check them out ahead of time and compare in person that's the way to do it. Salesmen will purposely adjust the lower-priced models to look crappy just to get you to spend more on a higher-priced unit (trust me, I worked at worst buy for a year part-time to deck out my house, some of the shadiest characters I've ever met but that's a whole other story). Spend some time adjusting the models your interested in and then pick the one you like the best.

    Thanks so much Brian :)

I had meant the 46" Sharp but typed 42,I apologize.

I plan on hitting wal mart early in the morning (IF the laptop's specs are pretty decent) so I will swing by Sears too.Our Sears is just the appliances,tvs,tools...stuff like that....no clothes and stuf like that.To find a full stocked Sears I have to travel like 2.5 hrs.

Thanks for the link,I will be there alot!

    Hae a great day,

  4. The whole 720p and 1080p, note some tvs will be 720i or 1080i, is a kind of cat in the box theory. If you are looking at tvs that are 40" or less in screen size you can buy a 720p and not worry about getting a 1080p 40" tv to save some money. The 1080p description comes into play when the screen gets bigger. Talking about buying a 50" or larger screen then 1080p is what you want. 1080p on a smaller screen is simply not needed.

    Thank you very much :)

  5. Big thing to look for when LCD shopping is contrast ratio. This is the measure of how "vivid" the tv will look, the higher the better. The sears ad for the Sharp Aquos is bangin' :yup:

I am SO ignorant about this stuff,I appreciate you all so vert much.

The ratio for this tv is 1200:1 right?I have been reading to watch for the 720 and 1080.I didn't know about that.

So you all think the 42" Sharp lcd (the Aquos for 999) will be better than the 50" Panasonic plasma.I don't mind spending more for a tv that's going to last longer and is better all around...<well I am not wanting to spend 4 or 5,000! >

We were looking at the panasonic I posted for about 2100.

    Thanks SO much!

  6. We got to the Super WM at 3 am,asked one of the clerks, she said they only had 4 and showed us where to go.Well there were about 6 or 7 people standing around so we just went off to find the other stuff.Come to find out there was actually 11 of them...errr.....we could have gotten one...oh well.I wish I would've asked 2 or 3 people.

We did get everything else we went there for,so we're happy...and exhausted!

  7. Oh wow....great topic!

I think I was about 10 ..lol..maybe a little older...but my meanie sister told me.I remember arguing with her up and down that there was too a "Santy Claus"

She told me she'd prve it to me,that there would be a bunny in my stocking and sure enough there it was.I was crushed! She was always mean to me like that...LOL.....

My mom always still made our Christmases really great though :)

  8. The same thing happen to me, but according to the Kensington website I need to buy one of those "tips" (about $10) in order to work with mines. So if anyone has a newer laptop check here: http://us.kensington.com/compApp/ktgUSPower.jsp?siteId=2&pageId=9162

to see which tip you need and make sure to check the back of the package to see if it contains it and if it is incompatible with your laptop.

Thank you very much for the link.

According to that then the wal mart laptop tip is N9 and included with 33197.

Can anyone that got the 33173,tell us if it came with that tip or not?

    Thanks so much.

  9. Sorry to hear that. I too got one last Christmas, however mine was a gift and I absolutely love it. I like the different flavors and the froth on the top and freshness of the pods. I like my coffee a little stronger therefore I do use two pods which is an option on them. :) I am using this one as a Christmas gift for someone else.

    That's a great gift!

I wanted to like it sooo much :( I thought I liked my coffee on the strong side too...LOL....oh well.I got a good mr coffee so I am happy with that.

    Have a great day!

  10. I don't mean to party pooper but I got myself one of these last Christmas and it made THE worst coffee I ever did tatse in my life :(

I am not an expresso drinker though.I tried every different pod out there, even weakened it down by making making 2 cups with 1 pos and it still gagged me :(

I love the idea because I really dson't drink that much coffee anymore and would love to make 1 or 2 fresh cups at a time.

OI hope you all like it better than I did :)

  11. I just moved in the area about 6 months ago, and it's the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. It's a 40 minute drive to WM so I'm not sure who my "local" station would be!:D (Most of our news comes out of West Virginia) I guess I could try contacting them, though.

    Hi!!

I am in the mtns of Eastern KY too!

My nearest wal mart is in Hazard. We were there at about 3:15 am on BF.They had plenty of the portable dvd players.I was just there again yeterday evening but I didn't notice if they had anymore.

    Have a great day,

    Jenn A

  12. Yep just buy 51 packages of socks and your all set. Everyone needs 306 socks don't they. :trampolin

LMBO.....actually with my family that wouldn't be a bad idea!!

I have 2 teenaged boys that can't seem to keep a pair of socks for any amount of time!

The other 3 are pretty good with keeping up with them <knock on wood!>
