[Anyone else already checking the extended weather?]

It is suppose to be 69 during the day and 44 for the low! Pretty much what it was last year! Coats in the morning and light sweatshirt in the afternoon.

Ok.. this is probably been answered before and it is a dumb question but I have never PMed before. Do you take the ads to the register with you and show the cashier or do you have to get it adjusted at customer service?

[Do you have anything you want for Christmas that is..]

I want a Yorkie puppy for christmas... not strange to me but my family thinks it is strange since I already have a chow chow and a cat.. I guess I can always ask Santa for my yorkie (or maybe my in-laws! )

[Is anyone else noticing sale prices aren't great?]

As it stands right now, I will go to Wal-Mart for the Cabbage Patch dolls and then maybe to Walgreens but nothing stands out as WOW .. hoping some of the other ads contain those WOW items I am looking for!

[Share your Black Friday "good samaritan" stories]

Last year, it got really cold BF morning (not normal for Texas -but Texas weather is not normal ). There were about 20 people standing with me at the front of the line- mos twere not dressed properly and most without gloves. I had to go to the bathroom and they all told me to go and they would save my spot. So on my way back, I grabbed a bag of gloves that I had gotten at Target at the dollar spot for 25 cents. I handed out 15 pair of gloves to all the nice people who held my spot. Some people tried to give them back and I just told them to donate them to a coat/glove drive if they didn't want them.

[Do you wrap stocking stuffers?]

We wrap all the items in the stockings... the kids are allowed to get their stockings when they get up and it gives the adults to get coffee and such while they are unwrapping their stockings.

[Which store(s) did you hit on BF last year?]

Last year I went to Wal-mart, Foleys, TRU, Radio Shack, Best Buy, KB Toys, Target, Kohls, Wal-greens, CVS, Bath and Body Works, Old Navy and a couple more places.. It was somewhat in that order. I left the house at 3 am and got home around 9 pm.

[What is the earliest you start shopping for Christmas?]

I picked up some christmas CD's to give as gifts last year in January. But normally start shopping this time of year!

[Have you ever run into a person you were BF shopping for??]

YES! A couple of years ago, I was at Foley's checking out and bumped into my Sister in Law. I was buying her a sweater and she commented on how pretty it was. I didn't tell her who it was for but she laughed when she opened it christmas morning!

[Taking out of your hands or cart?]

A couple years ago at Wal-mart, I had a Lite-Bright taken out of my cart. I had three and was standing with my back to the cart trying to get to a My Scene barbie and when I turned around I saw the guy running down the isle with it. I figured that if he was going to steal something out of someone's cart- he needed it more than I did! I just laughed with my friend and chalked it up to BF craziness.

[How do you keep organized and on task?]

I go thru all the ads and decide which store has what I want most and then go by store opening times.

 

I write down each store in the order I plan to hit them and list everything there that I want to buy- including the price. I also take the ads with the items circled so if I have to ask someone a question about it- I have the ad to reference. I normally have it all stapled together and in my bag.

[Do you pick up stuff for friends & family (as a favor, not gifts) on BF?]

I pick things up for my sister and mom. My sister has little kids and it is too early for them to be out and my mom- well, she is my mom- so I do what she says!

 

We sit down on Thanksgiving night and I make a list of all the things they want me to get and figure out my strategy.

I would like 3 of the Cabbage patch and one of the stick brooms... ok.. and maybe the little people.. and well.. the portable dvd player...

[Hubbies who hate BF....]

Mine goes with me some years and then others he stays home (or goes to work). He likes the good deals and doesn't complain about standing in the cold (and sometimes not so cold here in Texas). The only thing he asks is that I buy him breakfast!

[Have You Ever "Regifted" ?]

I was given a bottle of perfume that I don't really care for because I am picky about perfumes but I knew my sister would love it- so I slipped it into her stocking "from santa"! That is all I have ever re-gifted but I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as it is a nice gift to begin with.

[How Do You Pay for Items On BF?]

I use a debit card but run it as credit incase their is anything I need to dispute or warranty problems, etc.

 

I also got money back for running it as credit! And that money goes to after christmas sales shopping!

[New to BF What time to arrive in Dallas?]

Depends on what stores and what area in DFW you are?

What malls or store areas are you near?

[How long are you out on BF?]

I am normally in line by 5:15 am. I normally hit Foleys, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, TRU, Target, and then anywhere else that had something interesting in their BF ad.

 

I am normally home by 5 pm that night because I meet up with my SIL at lunch and then shop more.

[When do you wrap your BF haul?]

I wrap all my BF finds on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. My DH goes out with friends and I stay home and wrap!
