I can't really complain about crappy gifts. My extended family is very poor and they are really sweet despite their finances. I know that when we go to Christmas at my Aunt's house, she tries to get everyone something. Although most of the time, it isn't something I would have picked out myself, it always makes me feel good to know that she thinks enough of me to show she loves me. She got me Gardenia hand lotion that was really fragrant! She knows that I love Bath and Body Works so I am sure she thought I would love it. While I do not like Gardenia, I know that she thought it would be perfect. I love that woman!

Okay, this guy I have been dating for about a month shows up at my house to take me to a Christmas party and says "Here I got you something for Christmas, I don't know what it is though..." and hands me an alligator Webkinz. I am 52! I am not especially into alligators. I have not had an interest in stuffed animals in at least 30 years. My dd 12, however, was sitting on the couch when he gave it and flipped out because she has been asking for webkinz for Christmas (she's not particularly into alligators either). I thought the whole thing was weird, way to impress a girl "I got you something...don't know what it is though!" Weird!

I also get my extended warranties from Square Trade - about half the price of the BB warranties and they give you coupons for additional percent off with each purchase. I always get 10% off and have occaisionally gotten 30% off. You can buy warranties even for items purchased on EBay or for phones, Ipods, gaming systems etc. Well worth the money in my home!
I never heard of Square Trade before, do you have a website? Have you used their warranty service and are they reliable?

Best Buy has the Ipod touch advertised with a $50 gift card. If I buy online and choose in store pick up will they still give me the gift card? I would like to go that route so I can also get $ through upromise.

I used it almost exclusively on clearance online. Got 10 camis, a couple shirts and a couple pairs of pants for 107.xx shipped! Some things will get put away until next school year.

Days Inn might be okay, but it is north and east of the address you provided. I would not recommend the Travelodge, not in a particularly nice area of Mesa. (That is where I live).

check out the new 18" play dolls from Madame Alexander at ToysRus. They are really adorable and probably are made well since I trust that brand. They were selling them for $24.99 the last time I checked. Probably about 6 different varieties/ethnicities and cute clothing too.
Darn no Asian dolls, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised AG finally came out with the first Asian in it's line this year (Julie's BF Ivy). I guess it's AG for my 12 year old this Christmas.

I've been hunting down and stocking up my Tide coupons, sure hope it's still to come, I am almost out of the Tide I bought last BF at Walgreens, had to stop at 4 different stores but it was worth it!

DD wants a Panda Webkins for her birthday on 10/20. I need to know where I should look for these. They have them on Limited Too website but I don't want to pay for the S/H if I can find locally, but if I am going to order online and have here for her b'day I need to order soon! TIA

Yeah I do that too. I remember to use them one time and bring them inside and then forget to put them back in the car for the next 4 times and then the next 5 times after that I forget to bring them in the store and don't remember until I am ready to check out!Me too!! I have like 10 of them and whenever I go grocery shopping I forget them

I hate to give gift cards, I'd rather find a good deal on something they can open. But he might end up with one.
I understand the feeling about gift cards, but I also know that's the best thing for me to get my nephews ages 28-20, so I try to find creative ways of packaging them. I include the GC with an inexpensive item that relates to the GC, for instance a Starbucks GC with a travel coffee mug, a Home Depot GC with a tool, a AMC GC with a refillable cup. Maybe we can offer ideas to go with the gift cards you are leaning towards.

This happened to my mom with a birthday gift to my daughter to Aeropostale. Luckily we tried to use it soon after it was given and mom had the receipt. Took a final call and letter to corporate HQ to get it fixed but they did fix it (and gave us a % off coupon to boot).
