I got one of the rigid vac's they had on sale last year for $27, been great to have. Looks like the same one is on sale this year as well for the same price.

The plus side of compusa's rebates is all rebates which are directly from compusa can be submitted online. The downside is that most of their deals involve multiple rebates and usually 2 out of the 3 rebates involved are manufacturer's and cannot be submitted online. Also, compusa's e-rebates are much slower than staples easy rebates.CompUSA is starting to offer some online rebates, which is great, because their mail-in ones can be a pain in the a$$

Should I try to get my money back and get oneof the other Toshibas for $499 with the 512 RAM and a 60 hard drive???
:cry2: Since it's been opened they most likely won't do a refund w/out charging you a 15% restocking fee I'm afraid. Worth a shot though since it started acting up so quickly.

I still can't quite make up my mind if I'm going to bite on this or not. The major thing thats holding me back is that the battery that laptop comes with sucks and unfortunately the upgraded battery is $140 or so from toshiba (appears to be an odd size as well, no aftermarket solutions I could find).

I have a friend that is getting six months of aol with her new computer. What advise can I give her about making sure this gets cancelled after six months so she can change to sbc yahoo?
The best advice: don't start an AOL account. . .that 'free' 6 months will end up likely causing her a lot of headaches and likely some cash if she takes them up on the offer.

Oh yeah, I'll add my voice of support to those just trying to quit. Definitely very worth the aggrivation and it does get easier. I still get the occasional craving though, probably will for life. Just gotta let em pass.

Costco usually has brand name nic patches cheap and they carry a generic as well thats even cheaper. I had problems with the adhesive on the generic when I was quitting a couple years ago but my skin is kinda oily so I have problems with all of them not sticking that well. The generic just came off a little easier than the brand name.

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit more looking then suggested she buy the z2300s on amazon.uk and have them shipped to the uk from there. Theres a shipping channel set up for the school she works at where they pack up and send things to africa from the uk for no cost.
Heh, she needs to wait for her next paycheck anyway, she spent too much while she's been back and is broke now.

I need to find a decent deal on a 2.1 speaker set for my sister to use with her ipod.
The catch is that she lives and works in Africa. She's here in the US for the holidays but will be going back the 6th of Jan. I've never really searched for stuff that runs off 220v rather than 110v so I don't really know where to start. The speakers need to run off 220 without the addition of a seperate voltage converter . They also need to be loud, my sis seems to be bound and determined to deafen herself before she turns 35.
I was looking at logitech z-2300s as a good, loud, relatively low-cost solution but I'm not sure where to source a 220v version.

Well, my GF just busted the lcd on her digital camera so I'm trying to help her find a replacement but I really know not a whole lot about what really constitues a 'decent' budget digital camera.
Anyone know of a good site to read up on what are some good choices so I can start to look for deals?

Ok, this might be a little esoteric but I'm trying to find some stainless steel prep tables for the school I work for. Its a non-profit special-ed school so we're always doing things on a shoestring. I need to get a couple 24"x60" tables, used would be fine as well.
I checked my local craigslist, nada. Best I can do locally is $155/table new at a place I can pick up from to avoid shipping charges. Any ideas on where I could find some cheaper?
School is in Alameda, CA (SF bay area) so picking up things in say. . .Grand Rapids, MI isn't too likely to happen.

I have a set of those hooked up to my DVD player, my apt is too small for a real system, they're a bit boom-y unless you turn the bass down quite a bit but hell for $10 they're a steal

Hmm, if this is the same machine that costco has in the wherehouse then it's not very sturdy. I checked it out the other day when I was doing some stocking up on the ole bulk items and it seemed like the paddles weren't responsive at all and the whole thing felt flimsy.
Granted, its been sitting out on the floor being banged on by shoppers bored kids for who knows how long so that may have contributed to its state but even taking that into consideration it was not something I would count on lasting for more than 6 months.
I would take a look in person before jumping.
