  1. Waking up early To do some Christmas shopping Crazy, busy day
  2. Here is a tip... My TRU and Babies R Us are in one building. Most people don't know this but if you go through the Babies R Us checkout it is much faster because no one knows to do this.
  3. That's funny. My first turkey, I forgot to do that. Gross. If she is having more than 5 people she will more than likely need it for the gravy. Here is what I make: APPETIZERS Baby Dills Baby Sweets Black Olives Green Olives Deviled Eggs (Make ahead) Cranberry Sauce Dinner Rolls (Brown and Serve is easy... just don't forget to take them out of the oven) Main Meal Turkey (I use Honeysuckle White... Can get at Walmart) Spiral Ham Gravy Mashed Potatoes Sweet Potatoes (Make ahead) Broccoli Casserole (Make ahead) Cole Slaw (Make ahead) Macaroni Salad (Make ahead) Baked Beans (Make ahead) Stuffing (Make ahead) Deserts Pumpkin Pie (Make ahead) Cherry Pie (Make ahead) Dutch Apple Pie (Make ahead)

  5. I would suggest making as much as you can the day before. I even do the stuffing the day before and then stuff the turkey right before sticking it in the oven. That way the only thing I have to do on Thanksgiving day is pop everything in the oven and make the potatoes, turkey and stick the rolls in the oven. I also use throw away tins. Makes for easier clean up. If you get the ones shaped as bread pans you will have more room in your oven to heat stuff up, and more room to store things in the fridge. Timing is key, so if you do make things ahead of time take into consideration that they will take longer to heat as they have been in the fridge overnight. One more thing. Make sure to have extra jars of gravy on hand just in case yours doesn't turn out so good. Oh, and have fun. I have a menu that I use every year. If you want I will email it to you.
  6. My Daughter, 10, wants to go with me this year. I don't know if I want to take her or not. How can I get things for her if she is with me? Will she slow me down? I'm kinda thinking when it comes down to it, she won't want to wake up that early anyway.
  7. Not available in my store either. Thanks though.
  8. Oh, I forgot my dog too. She loves presents.
  9. Depends on who it is for
  10. Can you tell me which (plasma or lcd) would be better for gaming?
  11. Thanks. I already have an Olevia but it is coming up on it's one year anniversary at my house and was worried that it was not a good brand. The picture is good enough for me but I wish the component plugs were easier to get to. Wish they were located on the side or something.
  12. Daughter 10- $300 +/- Stepson 18- $300 +/- Stepdaughter and Son in Law- $300 +/- total Father In Law- $100 +/- Husband- Varies, sometimes we don't buy for each other. My Mom- $100 +/- My Dad- $100 +/- Sister In Law- $50 +/- My Sister 23- $30 +/- My Brother 25- $30 +/- My Sister 33- $50 cash (we had agreed not to buy for each other but she is a single mom barely making ends meet) My Nephew 7 or 8- $30 +/- My Gram 86- This year we are giving her $100 because she can barely make ends meet. Then we buy for a few of my DH's friends but only spend about $10 each.
  13. Can you tell what they say about Olevia?
  14. I think it came out last year. My SIL bought it for dd for Christmas last year. I find the graphics to be poor. My dd has played it maybe 4 times since last Christmas.

  23. I don't buy myself anything at Christmas time anymore. People were starting to get mad at me cause I would end up buying something they had already gotten me for Christmas.
  24. Anything goes with my tree. It is a real hodgepodge. We like it that way. When we are putting up ornaments my dd always says, "do you remember when I made this?" or "how old was I when I got this ornament?"
  25. Is there any way to add a countdown clock to my signature?
