  1. Circuit City has Emerson Dual Screen 7" portable DVD player for $99.99 on BF. But it doesn't come with an AC adapter or battery which means you'd only be able to play it in the car or would have to buy a universal AC adapter to connect to an electrical outlet and/or buy a battery for use elsewhere (an airplane). I saw some reviews that looked OK except for a possible issue with the sound. The dual screens are great for vans and you can always use headphones if the sound is an issue.
  2. Thx - I'll head over for the Alarm Clock Radio/iPod docking station 29.99 - hope they have plenty...
  3. Thanks, got one. We love their sandwiched but have never tried b'fast.
  4. I appreciate this outstanding website all year long. The incredible range and depth of information available, your quick response to changes in the marketplace and suggestions from members and your generous leadership makes this one of my favorite "favorites". Thanks for all you do for all of us!
  5. Could you make this a sticky? Or start a thread to compare BF deals on LCD monitors? I searched for a comparison of LCD monitors for BF and this is the closest I could get. Thanks!
  6. I would NOT recommend any eMachine or Gateway. I had a terrible experience with them. eMachine/Gateway tech support is based in the US and they do the best they can to help. Suggest you go to http://www.cnet.com/ and check their reviews of eMachine systems.
  7. More than 35 years! We went BF shopping long before we knew it was called BF. It's a family affair. I have so many great memories of BF shopping. Organizing our lists right after TGiving dinner (while the dh's, & db's snoozed), getting up early, making hot chocolate to keep us warm, waiting for the stores to open, meeting others later in the day (for the sleepyheads who couldn't manage to get up with the rest of us). The excitement of the hunt and the thrill of the catch. 3 generations of BF shoppers (and the 4th generation gets their first experience this year).
  8. Some of the lower priced items were regularly "free with rebate" before OM did away with MIR's. I bought two "free" OM Computer Tool Kits in the past but I'd still recommend them @ $3.99 because they're a good basic kit. The Surge Protectors @ $3.99 you can probably find cheaper w/ MIR's at Staples, OD, CC or BB, on BF or other times during the year. I've bought Webroot Spy Sweeper three different times for "free" with rebates although you usually need an "upgrade" rebate to get it it for free. The Sandisk 2 GB SD card is a good buy though, at $12.99. The last one we got was $29.99 w/ rebate. It can be a hassle to use MIR's (other than at Staples & CompUSA where their system are great!) but getting items for "free" is a good incentive. Our OM shopping really dropped off when they discontinued MIR's.
  9. I checked for clearance in school supplies yesterday afternoon and other than a few odd items everything was full price. But I'm always optimistic and I'll head over later today. Thanks!
  10. This a great resource and helps put things in perspective. I was surprised at how early the Ace ad came out this year and pleased that KMart ads are both out. We've gotten some good bargains on T'giving the last few years. And a big thanks to those who send the ads to you to post.
  11. I went to WM EARLY Sunday morning only to find that they had none in the store. They said "management" told them to tell customers to come back at 7:00 PM and wait in line at layaway for a truck that might arrive around 8:00 PM or later. The customers waiting would receve tickets based on their place in line... and there would be no more than 21 TMX's on the truck...That is, if there were any on the truck. Needless to say I didn't head back to WM at 7:00 PM.
  12. Good one - We can always use new toothbrushes and I like CVS. Thx
  13. Thanks for all your hard work. You make it look easy, but I know it's not. Let the BF mania begin.
  14. We use the BF want list feature (last two years) for both the "must haves" and the "maybe wants". Then we highlight the must haves so they're easy to see. We do a lot of "Free after rebate" items on BF so we note them on the list as well. That way when we get to the check out counter we know if we need rebate forms, separate receipts, etc. We make a master list of stores, items and store opening times. From that we plan a route based on opening times, priorities and location. If we finish a store early, we can either go to the next one on the list or run into one that's lower on the priority list but already open. We're always able to get to 3-4 stores before they open and can count on getting some of the best bargains.
  15. I'm always optimistic about BF. And this site makes it even more fun. If you look at it as an opportunity to have some fun and save some money, you can't go wrong. I try to remember that everyone out there is on the hunt for their special bargains, too. It's amazing how friendly everyone is at 4:00 in the morning while we're waiting for a store to open. One suggestion, you might want to bring along a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to pass the time while you wait for your bargains.
  16. Do I love GottaDeal! I needed a 100' ethernet cable to connect two computers to my router. One of the computers is "old" and I don't want to connect the other wirelessly so... ethernet it is. First, I used a couple of search engines and then the lightbulb went off. GottaDeal! And there it was - a perfect thread and the answer I needed. Cables for less is shipping tomorrow. Thanks a lot
  17. I just returned from WalMart in Peachtree City, GA. There were 12 chairs set up for tonight's X-Box and at 3:15 PM more than half the seats were full and going fast.
