thank you all for your suggestions, we are donating a large amount to several local charities, having a catered lunch for the employees and I am trying to do the movie ticket/popcorn bucket thing, that's a great idea. and yes, we are all VERY grateful to have a job this Christmas.

I go to Garden Ridge every year on Thanksgiving Day, usually around 8 or 9 at night. They have cleaned up from the day of sales and are restocked for the next day and the place is about empty. The ALWAYS have a really good sale and the decorations this year are really nice.

I would go with the solid purple. I have a set that looks very similar. I got it at Penneys but I got an absolutely huge set. It is service for 12 with dinner plates, salad plates, salad bowls, desert bowls, coffee cups, those annoying little saucer cups and even matching napkin rings. It was on sale for $99 and they let me use my 20% off coupon. Total price $84.74.

I don't know where to post this, but I am so excited I had to tell everyone. My daughter and I were shopping at Walmart for a new TV for her apartment and we decided on a 37 inch Vizio LCD they had on clearance for $900. We thought that was a pretty good deal. When they rang it up, it came up as $500.00. She was so excited she danced out of the store.

I have NEVER purchased an item that has a rebate. I have a hard time understanding the reasoning with the whole ordeal. You pay for an item and the company sends you back a portion of what you paid. Why not just sell it for the price you ultimately pay? I refuse to play the game. I am currently waiting for Sprint to end the mail in rebate on the new razor phone. When it's gone I will have a new phone.
