  1. I asked about the re-stocking fee today too. If it's unopened, there is no re-stocking fee. If it is open there will be one, but I didn't ask how much.

We took the chance and took ours out of the box.

Restocking fees usually run 15% most everywhere

  2. It Says Free Router, Printer, And Security Software With Purchase Of A Laptop. Are The Buyers Getting These Free Items The Same Time Checking Out Or Will It Be Coming In The Mail?

In the past the printer and router and such have always been puchased on same receipt at regular prices and then have MIR.

  3. I read an article about Walmart and black friday and they listed some items that thay would have . Did anyone else read this and is there any truth to it?

If that was the CNN article in which someone from Walmart was interviewed then it's already been talked about in a thread. Just do a search

  4. Was in the low teens when I camped out from midnight to 5am two years ago at CC for the laptop! That was a long 5 hours... Right now lows are getting down to the mid to low 20's.

But I'm ready with my battery powered socks this year! :gdchatter:

Didn't we even have a few snow flakes that year?

Do you know where you'll be this year? I'm looking for someone to maybe team up with.

  5. Last year I had to work for the first time in a few years. I camped out at BB and got the laptop and a few other items. Then made it to OM and CC and was only 15 minutes late to work at 8:45am. This year I have off. Next year - I can only hope. Yesterday we were able to submit our first requests at work for vacation days next year and BF was the first day I put down - the rest of my vacation time is flexible. I'll find out next week if I got it or not. It's never too early to start planning for next year!
  6. Goes something like this:

In order to give you the best possible prices were will NOT be accepting any Competitior Ads on "Black Friday" November 23rd!

How is not price matching a lower price at a competitor giving their customer "the best possible prices???"

  7. The only shopping list threads I could find have been closed so started a new one for this question.

Would you have time to add the model number after the name of item on the shopping list if known? Mainly for the electronics.

  8. I camped out starting at midnight two years ago at CC for the laptop doorbuster. The ticket handout was orderly and the line maintained order until right before 5am when a lot of people showed up just in time for the doors to open. So they could use better crowd control at 5am. The checkout was horrible. That was the year of the AOL discount and the signup process wasn't working properly. Stood in line for hours to pay for my laptop. Had to take last year off after that. I'm trying to psych myself up for camping out again for the $299 laptop, 24 inch Samsung LCD Monitor, and 9" digital picture frame.

You must have been at CC in Burnsville. My mom and I camped out there starting at 11:15PM. I was right there with you standing in the same check-out line - there were only about 20 people in front of me in the register that was for the laptops only and it took 3 hours to check out!

  9. I think the biggest thing here is that it is going to depend on the store. Last year the store i was at (Spanish Fort AL Store 678) only let 30?!? people in at a time, stopping for a minute or so between those groups. So, the line took forever for everyone to get in the store. The year before that, at a different store (Apple Valley MN Store 245) they just opened the doors and let everyone mad rush in, so the line was gone very quickly.

I'm surprised to see someone else who was at Apple Valley - I never find anyone near me on here.

    Aldi

i buy all of my groceries there, i found a website who offers month long menus and shopping lists just for aldi and the recipies are really good and easy.

You caught my interest. What's the website?

  10. Last year while camping out at BB we had someone park in the middle of the parking lot, get out of his car at about 2am. He leaves his radio on and climbs up to dance on the roof of his car. He never got into line. I guess he just wanted to offer some free entertainment.
  11. I get a group of crazy people like myself and organize teams consisting of 3-4 people. We have a quarterback, runningbacks, and a linebacker... ok, the linebacker only waits in line and isn't like the actual football term, but it's a fun word... moving on... The quarterback acts as captain, the runningbacks are the crazies going all over the store that has been scoped out a week before to find out where the certain items will be. The linebacker is usually an older/frail or moody person who doesn't want to participate, but wants the bf deals (in our teams, you have to participate in order to reap the benefits of BF).

How do you get on the team? Do you have a draft? Are there tryouts?

  12. :gdyeahthat: Hey...I need to know that also! So if the laptop has built in WIFI, there is no need to get a notebook card?? I was going to pick up the router/card combo at BB when I got the laptop. So I no longer need to do that??

That's correct - our laptops have the built in WiFi so we don't have any additional card. There is a button on the laptop that we can turn the internal wireless card on or off if we want to.

  13. I would Def bring that up to the attention of the school board and demand some action, thats just not cool at all.

We have a tax-free weekend before school starts on school supplies, computer items, & clothes.

The only things is, some of the schools do not send out their "this is what your kid needs this year for school" lists until after the tax-free weekend :(

When the back to school stuff comes out both the Target and Walmart in town have a file box in the department that has folders for each grade in each school in the district for shoppers to grab a copy of the list(s) they need.
