I'm right there with you. I've been wanting to try one but haven't wanted to order online. When I woke up in the middle of the night last weekend and couldn't get back to sleep I turned on the TV and it was their infomercial....at 3 in the morning those are powerful commercials and if I wouldn't have had to climb over my DH to reach the phone I would have ordered one right then! This is definitely on this years BF list!

Thanks for the info!!! When Costco opened up near us a couple years ago we kept our Sam's membership the first year but didn't renew as we found we liked Costco better and stopped shopping at Sam's (even though Sam's is in our town only about 2 miles from our house and Costco is 1 town over). I think this just might get me into Sam's Club's doors to activate our membership again. We've been out of contract for almost a year and have 3 phones to upgrade. Looks like this might be the best deal.

Last year that was my big purchase for myself and about 3 weeks before black friday came across a sale on front loading Bosch set with steam dryer that came to $1100 including the gas surcharge at Appliancesmart. i was a bit hesitant on making the purchase as I didn't want to be kicking myself if there was a better deal to be had but the ads I was waiting on weren't out yet. I decided to just get the deal. To me I figured if I was w/in $50-100 of what it was going to be on BF it was worth getting ahead of time and save the BF shopping time going after other deals. It turned out any BF deal was equal or higher to get a front loading set with the steam dryer so I was very happy I didn't wait. I suggest checking around at some of your local appliance stores now to see if you can find something in the price range you want to spend (using last years BF pricing as a guideline).

The joy on my kids faces when they open the "big" gift we never could have afforded without the deals on Black Friday

My library was just the opposite. I got the nook 2 years ago so that I could get books from my local library as I hate paying for books. Our library just added books for Kindle this year so now I could do either.

We treasure our still functional 8-track player (all in one stereo system from about 1982). We've even had friends borrow it on occasion

If anyone else has a coupon they won't be using it would be much appreciated. We've gutted our bathroom and have a lot to purchase in putting it back together.

The doorbuster tree at our Kohl's was not in the seasonal dept but were in boxes piled in the center of the aisle in the clothing area.

Today we had to submit our bids for vacation time next year - number 1 on my list was Black Friday 2009!

I've always put my ads in order of shopping and had my notebook with lists and my spreadsheets (especially for movies/games). But by the end of they day they always end up on the floor of the car in a big mess. This year while shopping at CVS when they had school supplies at 90% off I spotted a red binder that zipped shut and my first thought was "that would be great to use on BF" so I grabbed it.

Where did you find/get the pepsi coupons?

Once more adds are out give each gottadealer $1000.00 to "spend" and see what they put in their shopping cart. Can't purchase more than 1 of any type of items, only x number of items per store, etc...

We love our neighborhood HPB store. My son and I can spend hours in there. I get all my cookbooks and craft books. We pick up movies and music and computer games. We take in our used books when done with them. And nothing beats there $1.00 bargain book shelves in the back (love to pick up a couple before going on vacation that can be left behind in the hotel).

It's the one store my husband will get up early for and go by himself......without complaining.

I work full time M-F 8:30-5:30. About 6 years ago I found a part time overnight position at a group home for disabled adults in my neighborhood from 10p-8a Sun/Mon/Tue nights. It includes 8 hours of paid sleep time and 2 hours of higher pay for awake time in the morning with everyone getting ready for work.
-
Both. I always am able to get most of Christmas gifts purchased. It's just too hard to pass up the deals for things I didn't know I "needed" until the price is right.

How many years have you been going shopping on Black Friday?

About 20 years. -
Greetings! I'm Diana and my DH and I recently celebrated our 23rd anniversary (although I always remind him I'm not sure if year #22 counts since he forgot it). Our 2 boys are still at home. DS 21 is working and DS 19 is going to school and works part time. My BIL moved in with us the beginning of this year so we have a full house. I'm a full time travel agent and also work part time at a group home for disabled adults, bargain shopping would be my 3rd job.

Staples just opened a store in town. I can't wait to see what they will have. It may be fun to start somewhere new.

I don't know exact times but 3 years ago I couldn't get off work. I made it to 5 stores - made purchases at 4 of them. And was into work 1/2 away only 5 minutes late at 8:05am.
