  1. My husband and I will stop for a late lunch when done on Friday - about 2pm or so.  The place varies depending on our mood. Although every year I wonder why we even bother stopping for lunch as after we place our order I can hardly stay awake waiting for it to be served.  I just want to lay down in the booth and take a nap!

  2. My mom told me tonight that her and dad would like tablets for Christmas. I am thinking Amazon Fire 7 for them. Anyone familiar with these? They only want them for facebook, reading books, bank apps. Will these be easy to use on wifi for people not very computer savvy?

It will be perfect for that. I got one 2 years ago when I needed to replace my broken Nook.  I use it primarily for reading.  My library offers ebooks and audio books thru 3 different services so between my Nook and Fire I haven't had to purchase a book in over 6 years (or even better pay late fees at the library - 1 year I had $100 in late fees - ouch).  It's the perfect size that I never leave the house without throwing it in my purse so I'm never stuck waiting without something to do.  I prefer reading ebooks but I will download audiobooks if that is the only version of a book the library carries.  It's easy to check facebook and email.  I haven't done my online banking using it but don't think it would be difficult.  Since most of those activities are all done by using the touch screen it's very user friendly and easier than doing the same things on cell phone since the screen is larger.  I just recently downloaded the Alexa for Kindle app. It's touch activated instead of voice activated to launch (hold down start button for a few seconds and Alexa will ask what you want).  I frequently set a quick alarm (when I take a nap and don't want to oversleep, or have something in the oven - simple as "set alarm for 145pm).  I add items to a shopping list "add milk to shopping list" at store "show me shopping list". I haven't had the time yet to figure out how to add appointments or events to my calendar yet.

  3. We did the deal at Best Buy on Saturday and I dug our old Samsung 3 phones out of the junk drawer (as we want to keep our Samsung 5 phones for back up).  I had to use a charger at the Best Buy counter since they hadn't been charged in a couple years.  My husbands powered up just fine but mine was completely dead.  What I was able to do was purchase the cheapest prepaid smartphone I could find on the shelf (i don't remember the brand but it was on sale for $17.99) and I was able to use that as my working trade in for the 2nd $200 gift card.

  4. If space is a concern and you have an over the range microwave then I suggest considering a microwave/convection oven combo.  When our microwave died last year after considering all the options I got a Samsung microwave with the convection oven feature.  I think it was about $239.  One of the features is "slim fry" which is a special tray that is place on top of a stand so that the tray is near the top of the microwave and it crisps the frozen french fries without using any oil so I imagine this is the same as air frying.  We've had it for almost a year now and was worth the purchase.  I haven't tried using it with any meat but reading the other posts I'm going to test it out.

  5. A few months ago they had the $100 gift card with iPad deal and the way it was handled is they scanned a gift card and loaded the $100 on it and then the $399 iPad rang up as $299.  I think they do it this way now so that if someone returns the iPad without returning the gift card you will only get the $299 back.

  6. Yep you can:

    1. Use multiple coupons

    2. Use coupons on clearance

    3. Use out of date coupons

Hence why I keep a few in my car at all times.

Using out of date coupons depends on your local store.  Ours used to so I also kept a supply in my car but when all the Linens N Things stores closed about 3 years ago they stopped accepting expired coupons at all my neaby BB&B stores and are very strict on policy.

  7. I wish I had tried to get one with my regular membership now. :P

Went to SAMs tonight. Last nights VIP event was for Plus AND Business members. Sh!t! :P

    I'm so mad!!!

I think each Sam's had different entry requirements. Ours last night they came down the line 3 times before opening to verify everyone had the invitation and had the plus membership card.

  8. Just got an invite for the VIP Black Friday at SAMs! Guess its for Plus and Business memberships. Woo hoo!!! :)

Just renewed my Sam's Club yesterday to get the VIP invite - Had to get the Business Plus as just the business membership alone doesn't qualify for the invite. They write your membership number on the invite and said it would be checked against your membership card to get in that night.

  9. Sad thing i was serious when i posted that.I dont own one but really want to.I cant stand wires.lmao.all my friends crack up when i say i want one.Tired of spending $40 plus bucks to keep my girls up.They r tired. They really wanna droop in style.lol

I'm right there with you. I've been wanting to try one but haven't wanted to order online. When I woke up in the middle of the night last weekend and couldn't get back to sleep I turned on the TV and it was their infomercial....at 3 in the morning those are powerful commercials and if I wouldn't have had to climb over my DH to reach the phone I would have ordered one right then! This is definitely on this years BF list!
