  1. Assuming that the "TV" they're waiting four days for at WalMart is the doorbuster Samsung 50" Plasma for $798, I managed to purchase this very same TV online yesterday from BB (for a penny less than WM's BF price, even! ;-) ), thanks to the info from gottadeal.com! Ordered online - picked up in store - a very large box now sits in my living room as we figure out which wall we should mount it on. Soon my husband will be watching the Patriots as nature intended! Anyway, between the TV and the new HP laptop I got at BB last weekend (not a BF deal snagged early like the TV, but I would have been settling for the BF WM one offered Friday. For a little more, I got what a wanted for features.), my big ticket items have been taken care of, I can sleep off the turkey Thursday night, venture out on Friday about 4:15-ish, and shop BF for the small stuff at my leisure. Last couple of years, thanks to the pre-planning this site affords us, I've been back home and in bed before the sun has come up! God bless the early campers!

me too, I just bought it from them and got free shipping too. Better price, no line, no worries about will it fit in my car, ect, ect, ect. I'd rather do all my shipping online, the deals i get thru this site thru the year are usually better than black friday! With no hassles, but black friday can be fun, just not with 3 kids under 12!
  2. Thanks again for helping me get a great deal!

Just got the Samsung 50" plasma for $798 at BB free shipping thanks to the great people on this forum! No waiting in line no worries about does it fit in my car!

    This Forum Rocks!!!!!

  3. This Sammy A400 is last years model, hence the discount. Spend the extra hundred or 2 and get the A450 which Newegg has for 1029.00 (much better than the 1199 @ CC and 1299 @ BB).

Also, new plasma tv's arent prone to burn in as one person stated. Maybe back a couple years ago they were but its relatively non existent today (unless you buy an off brand like Vizio, etc). Research and you will find this is true. Also, IMO LCD's have a limited viewing area, get off axis to the tv and the screen blurs, plasma's do not do this. LCD's have a hard time displaying deep blacks where as plasma's are much better at this as well.

Just do some research before buying any TV and attempt to get independant info from like CNet or similar. You have to be careful about what you read in these threads.

what would be the advantage to get the 450, they are both 720?

I think this is the best deal I've seen and no waiting in crazy lines!

  4. I use about 10 green bags, mine are mostly cloth, I use them everywhere. It takes longer to bag and I usually do the bagging myself, but I hate throwing away plastic bags and I was collecting a mountain of them! In Seattle they are going to start charging for plastic bags.
  5. I hope there are some fridges left when we come home from vacation, our fridge is dying and we really need a new one. Now I wish I wasn't on vacation just so I can save a few hundred!

Oh well maybe I'll get lucky and there will still be one or two left. I really want a bottom freezer.

  6. It's so funny how in different areas things are different at these sales. I'm glad I went, I worked 2 days, got 110 in credit, used it all plus 14. There were no price difference from the first day to the last here, so in my part of the woods, it's best to get there the first day because there were more $1, $2 books to be had, we had no pack a box area, I would have loved that! But in all I had a good time, the place was actually in a really nice hotel, in a banquet room, so we didn't get dirty and they provided drinks, I will do it again if I can. We were never too busy when I was there so it was really easy work, and we were paid the $10 an hour and able to have the same prices as everyone else.
  7. That's a bummer, this will be the first one I'm going to, I'm also working it, not sure of the times though she was supposed to call me back this week to remind me but never did, i'm gonna have to check my emails and try and get the numbers to call her, hopefully this one will be better than your experience. I wonder why they all seem to be different?

Sorry you had a bad experience:(

  8. They just put up a sale in my area (about 45 minutes away). It's supposed to be a big warehouse, so I think I may venture over there tomorrow. My son's birthday is in two weeks, and he is an incredibly avid reader...if I can pick up some discount books that would be great!!! Hope it turns out well!!! :)

I just got back from the warehouse. Holy cow, talk about a ton of books!!! This was one of the greatest sales ever (for my family at least). I managed to get somewhere around 30 books (a lot we had already purchased through book orders and book fairs) and spent $47. I did notice a sign that volunteers at our sale were to get a $20 credit for each hour worked. Not sure if they upped the amount everywhere, but I wish I had time to work. Thanks for the heads up OP!!! :)

Thanks for telling us about your sale, I'm hoping mine will be as good and I'm gonna have to ask about the increase in pay, that would be nice. I'm gonna have to take a picture of our library or make a list before I go to mine so I don't buy a book we already have.
