  1. Ahhh...but keep in mind...

A deal is not a steal if you have no purpose for spending even the small amount asked on the deal. If the $14.98 still didn't make the item jump out at you, then for you, was it really a deal?

    Does that make sense?

The only possible reason I would feel bad for passing on the deal if I had no one in mind for it when I purchased it would be if the item is something I could ebay it for at profit. But would such a thing sell on ebay to make it worth our while?

WOW! What a great quote! My husband has been trying for years to get me to stop spending so much, I'll have to show him this line "A deal is not a steal if you have no purpose for spending even the small amount asked on the deal". He's going to love this.

  2. I went to Target last night to pick up the Diet Coke with my coupons (thank you very much) and picked up a couple of games for Christmas at $6.99 each. I had my Kindergartner with me and asked the sales clerk to please ring up the games first while I distracted my little girl and put them straight into the bag so she wouldn't see...sure she said...2 seconds later shes boldly and proudly waving the games around plopping them at the end of the counter close to the debt/credit card machine, just making it so plainly obvious to everyone including my daughter what I had bought! Thanks...silly cashier...for being so discreet!! I was so mad at her that I forgot to give her my coupons for the Coke. So now I've had to play it off to my little one since she saw the games and I spent more money by not giving the coupons. However, I still love Target!
  3. In the past, on black friday, they made an announcement over the intercom stating all toys were an add'l amount off. Last year I think it was 20%. You had to be paying attention to what was said to hear, but once the word got out...it was easy pickins! I scored with the add'l off and the coupons and the gift card and the price matching and the tax free...it was GREAT! Even though the ad didn't offer much, Its still the first place I'm heading on Black Friday. :yup:
  4. go to

    and sign up

under store circular you can opt in for homedelivery. hth

Thanks. I also signed up. Pity it takes too long for the Black Friday coupons to arrive. I've seen the offer for home mailers, but didn't realize there was extra coupons inside. Now, of course, I could just kick myself for not signing up earlier. Once again thanks for the insight. ;)

  5. Last couple of years I've gone to the BX first on BF. I like the $20 GC they give away, plus the sales are pretty good. Last year I priced matched and I got what I wanted at the other store prices plus no tax!! It was great. I go all the days they offer the GC. You just can't beat it. I did get our Star Card bill today and it had on-line coupons inside. I'll have to make a point of getting the sales ad. Thanks for the heads up!
  6. I send a famly photo out. I love receiving pictures at Christmas time. I have an album where I set aside a couple of pages per family so that I can watch friends/famly grow. Its nice to see how the kids chance from year to year. School pictures are so expensive and you can take a photo to Wal-Mart and get Christmas cards done for so much less. Its the best time to send them. I'm a shutter bug and always have my camera on me snapping away. I tell friends/famly once you get a photo from me your on my list for life. Just love to send them out!
  7. My kids open their "daddy gift" on Christmas eve. Its the only gift I require my husband to purchase on his own without any help from me. My dad use to do that for me when I was little and I remember almost every gift he gave because my dad didn't buy presents/cards/make phone calls. We leave out cookies and milk and read the "Night Before Christmas" I love "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen and so we've watched that every Christmas since it came out. We are a miltary family (as was my childhood) so we've never had family around to travel to, I'd love to do that.
  8. So far I'm thinking the BX. Last couple of years they have given away $20. gift cards the friday, Saturday, Sunday after Turkey Day. They also have great prices on toys/clothes. Then I'll probably go to Target or Walmart. But you never know!!
  9. So your store actually had them? This one has a video screen, not the Mix Stix which is just an MP3 player. I too have gone to several other Targets since, and none had any out yet.

It may not have had a screen. I just walked by and scanned the item. I saw a price above it that was more than $15.00 and kept on going. Although, I'm thinking I should have paid closer attention. It's sounding like something I'd get my girls for Christmas. Ya'll should be getting sales commission from Disney for selling this thing. :D

  10. I got an amazing deal today.....Its called Disney Mix Max. It is apparently the new version of the mix stix, but plays video as well. It holds up to 240 songs or 6 hrs of video, and is expandable with SD cards. It was scanning Item not found. So, i went to the electronics register. There was a woman in front of me who had 2 of them as well, and was having the price checked. They said sense they were not found, they must have been clearanced out already, and gave them to us for ~15 each. I was excited, grabbed my 2 (the only other ones) and paid. Got home to look them up online....THEY HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED YET! They come out in October and will retail ~100.00. I was so thrilled! This will be for my girls from Santa, and I cannot believe what a deal I got! I am still thrilled about it!

WOW What a great deal. Lucky, Lucky you. I had to go to my Target to see if maybe, hopefully they had also goofed, but alas, It was on the peg at the normal price. :(

  11. I usually leave about 3/4 am and then come back home between 10/12am. My husband and kids are starving and start cooking then I'll go back out later to hang and pick up anything that "might" be left and I've rethought about.
