  1. Actually, I'm juggling two options right now. I'm starting to think that it would be better to go with a 9300. Although it will be heavyer, I'm thinking that the 17in screen would be better for my bro because he has an astigmatism (sp?) and another eye disease, so a bigger screen is easier on his eyes. Right now, it is:

    -1.6 PM 533 FSB

    -1 gig ram

    -64 MB ATI x300

-base HD and CD-rw/DVD rom (he has regular comp, so doesn't need more)

-6 cell and extra 9 cell battery

    -1 year warrenty

Total is 1,907.00 brought down to 1,157.00 with free shipping

  2. I'm trying to buy a laptop right now, but I can't enter any of the coupons! It gives me this message:

The following coupons have been entered but require additional information or do not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information.

I think that it might be because of the MIR, but I can't remove it, so I'm stuck with a 300 MIR. Any help would be appreciated.

  3. Hmm, I'm wondering if it would be a better deal to buy a Inspiron 6000 from the small business section. They have a 433$ coupon and and 150$ MIR. I have one configured for around 1000$ in the end that would have:

    -Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750 (1.86 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)

    -512 ram

    -60 gig HD

    -2nd 9 cell battery

    -64mb ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON X300

with everything else standard. It comes out to 1157 before the MIR. Does this sound like a good deal?

  4. I tried that, but it says "

    SBC Yahoo!® DSL

We were unable to validate account information for the number you provided. Proceed with ordering and a SBC service representative will contact you to validate your account information before processing your order."

So I don't know if that means there is no service in that area, or if it means that he simply doesn't use SBC for his phone sevice or something like that.

  5. Yeah, I'm looking for something higher quality.

I searched Pricegrabber, and a site called UBID has it for 98 dollars with free shipping and the 50$ MIR ?!?, but it has a bad review, and I don't want to buy a refurb from an untrusted site. Also, Newegg has it for under 95 shipped with the MIR

EDIT: actually, I don't know if UBID would work. For the rebate, it says it has to be an autorized Logitec seller, and I don't know if UBID is one.

  6. My brother needs a laptop (only for wordprocessing and internet use) so a PIII will be fine, and I was wondering if you guys know if their referbished laptops are good quality? Particuraly, the: Dell for $369 (P3 1.0GHz 256MB 30GB CD FDD 14.1" TFT w/Win 2K - B)

256 is plenty of ram for word and for the internet, and I like that it comes with 2k pro. Also, would it be possible to install a wireless network card in here, and if the battery does not work. How much do you think a replacement would cose. Thanks for the help!

Edited and added link - RossMAN

  7. Yeah I saw that as well. Too bad Dell doesn't carry the 1GB cards.

Hey, just found this. For the price of 2x 512 lexar pro stick duos, you can get 1x 1 gb sandisk. EDIT: actually, the 1gb is cheaper, since for the second Lexar 512 stick, you can't use the 25% off coupon (can only use it once).

Um, i can't put in URL, but this is the Dell Part #: A0290801. WHOOPS, didn't realize that it wasn't a duo. thanks for pointing that out! I think i'm going to buy a 512 right now.
