We have a fake one. I love real ones but our cat doesn't seem as interested in the fake ones. Also, a couple years ago I got the lights on "just right" and haven't taken them off yet. We just store the tree assembled in the basement. Makes set up and removal a breeze!

My holiday impaired dh takes everything down right after new years.

We let the kids open one thing on Christmas eve. A tradition I have from growing up, its usually a new pair of pjs that I give in and let them wear that night. All the other gifts "arrive" during the night.

I love the lights even though my dh won't put any on our house. Thinking back on my childhood that was such a magical thing. Driving down the street and seeing all the houses decorated. I have to admit that last year only a handful were actually decorated in our entire neighborhood this year! I also love to see others open the gifts that I've given them. I take a lot of time and try to find just the perfect unexpected item that they would never ask for but secretly want!

Last year Wal-Mart did them for free but they were very cheesy. It was the first time I had taken my ds 3 to get pics with Santa and I wasn't sure if he'd freak out or not. He did really well so we may have to find a better quality place this year. I think a local church down the road from us does them for donations.

since I was little we always did it on my birthday (Dec. 1).. tradition has stuck with me and even though my dh thinks I'm nuts (he has a hard time with the holidays) I still do it. Of course, I always take inventory of what I have and what I want that I still need right after Halloween.. I love that time of the year!

Last year I got him a gift card to somewhere... can't remember. Probably the same this year. Not sure seeing as he and his wife just had their first child.

DS 12 - absolutely not and he has a hard time playing along for his younger brother who's 4.

Santa usually brings 3 or 4 of their gifts and we give the rest. I try to limit each of our sons to around 8 gifts each but it is getting harder. I really try to spend about the same on each of them but with our older son (12) wanting such expensive things its getting tough. I could buy our 4 yr old 3 things to our older's one! This is going to be a tough year to figure out!!

Never mind. The first time I clicked on the link the sale price didn't show but I just clicked on it again and its showing the sale price... now to just talk the hubby into it!

ok. I know its a Labor Day sale but when does it start? is it Monday only? I could really use one of these to replace my old one and I missed out on the Lowes deal... TIA

now my wal-mart has great customer service. I've never had a problem with that and i'm in there several times a week. i have learned that if I want to exchange something it is just easier to return it and then just purchase what I want that way if they dont have what i want i don't have to go back up to the desk.

what is the All You magazine and where can I get one?

There is no way I would get up that early in the morning if I didn't also have to be at work at 7:30. I usually only hit 1 or 2 stores before I go to work. I think my husband would want to have my head examined if I told him I was going to camp out in line somewhere the night before

I got my husband a recliner from Big Lots last year. It was about 250.00. He uses it everyday. The kids have put it through its paces and its held up very well.

The POTC dress up set was 75% off??? OMG.. now I have to back today and look here. I know my dh was really hoping to keep me out of there for at least one day. BTW, we are getting a new Target just 5 minutes from my house ... its in Grove City,OH. Seems like they've been working on it forever and I can't find any info as to when it is opening. Anyone know where I can go to find this out??? TIA

Anyone know when the rest of the swimwear will be clearanced? At my Target in SW Columbus, OH some of the women's swimwear is but not all. Doesn't it figure the pair I want is still 17.99

went yesterday and what a rush. I haven't been to one of these in about 3 years. Considering what regular prices are I think I did pretty well. Got 5 bras, 6 panties and a pair of shorts for 130. Now I should be set for another 3 years
