  1. Happy New Year everyone! Checking in for January. Although, i cannot for the life of me remember if i even checked in for December. This year, the holidays have been so busy i lost track of time. I was almost excited to get back to work just to get back to some normalcy…almost…[emoji38]

Kids are back in school thankfully. Fingers crossed this semester goes better than last.

  2. I know I’m a little late, but Happy September Everyone! Things have been really crazy already. School for the kids started a couple of weeks ago and things have been non stop. Finally getting into the groove of things and my DD ends up testing positive. Thankfully only mild symptoms that seemed to really only last for a couple of days, but trying to keep an energetic 11 yo quarantined when she “feels” fine is tough. [emoji12]

Waiting patiently for the cooler temps to get here. I’m so ready for the fall festivals. [emoji262][emoji260]

  3. wooo-HOOO!!!

I just received this text from Krystin Jones, the coordinator for P.ink Washington State. Quoting with her permission.

    (please pardon the language)

"Hi I'm happy to let you know you are one of gals receiving a tattoo this year. If you would call me when you have some time to talk so I can go over details and what to expect next. Holy shit congratulations girl!! I look forward to talking with you soon."

P.Ink Day is an annual event, where free decorative tattoos are given to breast cancer survivors/thrivers over their mastectomy and reconstruction scars.

    Thats awesome!

  4. Hi . Late checking in this month. The only good thing is that I have lost my appetite and lost over 20#. But will never be too thin.

The funny part is I am almost at my drivers license weight.

Hopefully things are okay and you have good reasons for losing your appetite. Losing weight is always hard, something i need to start working on. I’ve been trying to work on my mental health first and it looks like things are going well… however school just started so hopefully it will be nothing like last year [emoji23]

  5. Walked and walked and walked. LOL

I think we hit most of the highlights we wanted. We watched the fountains at Bellagio 2 or 3 times. We went to several of the casino's on the strip. We went over to Freemont Street (and zip lined down it! - major accomplishment for my heights averse self :)). My favorite part of the trip was the Venetian! I could have lived in there for days and not gotten tired of it.

The only thing we didn't do that I had on my list was visit the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory. I wanted to watch them mold the chocolates. But that wasn't a big deal.

I have always wanted to go to Vegas. I hear its a lot fun with all the shows and things to see. I hate asking people to watch my kids so i was going to wait until they got old enough to stay on their own until my cousin told me recently she takes her 11 yo daughter and they go on a girls trip with her mom and sister.

The chocolate factory sounds cool. I like going to places like that.

  6. Okay - so I realize that Friday is ... "Friday the 13th" - BUT I am having a WHOLE Week of Friday the 13ths! Hubby has a milestone birthday on Saturday - had pretty much everything on order for pickup from our local Walmart - they just closed because of a Covid outbreak! Grand-daughter's birthday is Sunday - her party had to be canceled because of Covid.  Hubby cut the tip of his finger just about OFF and can't go to the emergency room because they are FULL and there is a 12+ hour wait for even Covid people. Possible hurricane rolling in on Sunday night. Ordered $200+ items for my first order from Butcher Box as a gift of steaks and seafood for Hubby's birthday ... and the shipment (frozen food) that was to be delivered today is LOST! Think I am going to go to bed - pull the covers over my head - and NOT come out until this frigging month is OVER!!

WOW magickallight, sorry to hear how everything is going for you. I hope things get better.

  8. Wow June is here and almost over! Where has the time gone. Next month will be a fun filled busy month. Long weekend Vacation at the beginning of the month with on side of the family and a first time week long vacation at the end July with another side of the family. So ready for this!
  9. It's a little early, but my "covid quarantine project while mom sitting" was to make Easter egg ornaments the last 5 weeks. I made mom an Easter egg tree. And I just put it up. I found some cute German Easter bunnies on EBay. They are wearing lederhosen. [emoji16] 1 pack came. I have 1 more pack coming. And I need to pick up a pack of Easter grass from the dollar store. Then it will be done!

    They came out super cute!!

  10. Happy year of the metal ox. The second animal in the chinese zodiac, legend says the emperor wanted 12 animals to be his heavenly guards, and a race was arranged. The winner of the race was the rat, who hopped on the ox, and when they reached the palace, hopped off and won the race.

(there are many different versions, but they usually involve a river and always the rat using the ox to win.)

Have a happy and prosperous new year.

    Thats a cool version.

Happy February all :) Finally over my covid and after several months finally got to go have dinner with my sister and her family. Not being able to taste or smell right sucks the most but that's gonna last a while longer. Ah well.

We got a ton of rain last week and temps hit all time lows. Nearby cities got snow flurries and local ski resorts up north got snowed in with as much as ten feet of snow per day or more. Looks like we made up for our dry spell in 2020.

Glad you are feeling better. We are getting our coldest temps that we had in several years. Im on the Texas gulf coast so for us its going to cold but no where near as cold as the rest of the country. Stay warm and safe everyone.

::sigh:: It's February. Took the Christmas tree down. ::sigh::

I wish i could keep a Christmas tree up this long but I can’t give up getting a real tree.

  11. Up early, as I have my first substitute gig in a school since March. I'm skeptical that the gig is actually scheduled; I signed up for it on the official site, but I usually receive a reminder email the week of, and that hasn't happened.

I'm showing up at the building at the scheduled time ready to work (mask on!) anyway. We'll see what happens.

    How did it go?
