I can't give you any advice for a reasonably price sewing machine but I am sewing on a 10 year old Viking that I payed $1500 for. I am ready to upgrade. It depends on what bells and wistles you are looking for. You can get a Brother for $100 at walmart that will just do a decent straight stitch. My suggestion is locate a couple of quilting forums that you can ask this question on and I know that you will get tons of information that will help you in finding the machine for you, then you can start looking for a low price. I love this site. Hope I don't go bankrupt. I plan on buying all my x-mas presents thru the year as I find things on sale. I also like the freebie forum. I love getting the samples in the mail. One thing I will be looking for is the Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixers an Amazon for $179. I saw then on the forum at that price but when I got there they were already back up to $199. I have all year to wait for that price again. Wendy

Some items are not shipped from Amazon. They will charge for shipping. An example is some items that were on Amazon but shipped from Joanne's Fabric. I ordered a rotery cutter that was on the Amazon web site but it was shipped from Joannes. Came in a Joannes Fabric box. They don't get free shipping. Also ordered some fancy boxers for my daughter last year that was ordered from amazon but shipped from somewhere I can't remember. Maybe that was what happened to you. Hope this helped. Wendy
