deals are luke warm at best. 9pm turkey day start, bastards - who do they think they are raising the bar like that!
And it looks like they're still doing the early morning thing as well! Luckily, it doesn't look like there's much worth getting either way.

It's already been said, but it's worth saying again - THANKS!!

Mine are all within about a 2 mile radius! :)

Line Jumpers
in 2006
I feel sorry for kids that get used as placeholders. That aside, it ticks me off when people emerge 15 minutes prior to opening and join their kids/family/friends in line. If you haven't been in line the entire time (except for bathroom breaks) you don't deserve to join them in line. You are ruining the experience for everyone.
You say your children are too young to wait in the cold...don't bring them. Can't find a babysitter....sorry.
The only clemency that should be allowed is to disabled and/or elderly individuals (and by elderly I don't mean overweight 40 year olds).
IF YOU AREN'T WILLING TO FREEZE YOUR ARSE OFF IN THE COLD WEATHER, YOU DON'T DESERVE TO CUT IN FRONT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING LONGER THAN YOU HAVE.
Don't ruin it for everyone else.

In typically-helpful fashion, the Wal-mart ad arrived yesterday in the mail. Um, thanks guys. I don't know why they can't just have it inserted into the Sunday paper like every other ad. Or at least mail it out early.
-
Has a scan of the ad been posted?

Waiting for Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, and CompUSA.
-
I still find them hit or miss - some days, good service, some days, not so much. Not that I expect much at those big box stores these days . . .
-
Good news if it means more deals!!
-
It depends on the sale, but I'll most likely be there.

I'm going to have to do #1 this year!
Please, not in the dressing rooms!
-
Christmas bonus? What's that??
My same thought.
-
Far more than I care to admit!
Ain't that the truth!

I'm just disappointed more ads aren't out yet! Unfortunately, I'm not known for my patience!!
-
Those rebates! I hate rebates! I want my savings NOW!
At least Staples has easy rebates, which you can do online.

Limits are only good if they get enforced. One year Staples had a super-cheap digital camera that I wanted for a gift. A clerk was giving them out behind a counter and I was behind an elderly fellow who got the second-to-last one. I thought sweet, I'll get the last one, but then the guy starts gesturing that he wanted another one, and the clerk gave it to him, despite the ad clearly saying 1 per person! I was not amused, as I was left empty-handed!

I'll be pitching my tent in front of WalMart tonight!
For this year, or next?

no religious affiliation to BF.
Shopaholicism isn't a religion? It should be!! :)

Last year, I believe it was Circuit City that had every single disc CD on sale for $9.99. They usually have a good selection.

This is more a question for the admins, but I'm putting it here because others might wonder as well . . .
One of the reasons I preferred this site in years past is because you guys weren't afraid to post scans of the ads. Other sites either refused to post scans and/or price lists, or posted them but took them down quickly after receiving 'legal threats' from the stores in question. So, did Gottadeal.com get threatened by stores for posting ads (I'm assuming you did, given all the press attention you got), and why/how did you resist?
Just curious . . .
Oh, and thanks! Love this place!

OK, but which stores? Last year CompUSA did it; it will be interesting to see this year which other major retailers jump on that bandwagon.
-
CompUSA's midnight madness BF sale was nationwide last year, and by and large I think it was considered a success. Anytime a store has an exclusive time slot, it helps them. Personally, I liked it because it allowed me to be there at opening as well as Circuit City at opening (instead of having to choose one or the other). I'd be somewhat surprised if CompUSA doesn't do that again.
OK, so apparently it was nationwide, and a big hit. Why wouldn't other retailers jump on that bandwagon?!?! Where I am (major metro area), we've got, within a 5-mile radius, a CompUSA, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Circuit City, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Super Target, Toys R Us, Kohl's, B.J.'s, and K-Mart - obviously, that's a cut-throat retail environment. Just seems like a natural progression to try to beat other stores to the early BF 'launch'.
