I think it depends on the child. My son, 14, got a nice mp4 player I think last year - low and behold he hasn't lost it once, it still works, and it's still in good shape (it was a Coby one for like $20 last year before the holidays). I think he would be ready an iPod shuffle/nano. My oldest daughter 16 got a mp3 player (actually 3 now) and it's been lost, broken, beaten, stepped on and abused - she is NOT ready for something that costs more than $25 imho. (well at least not if I pay for it). This last one doesn't work anymore, btw. For a 10 yr old, my personal opinion, I'd go with a nice $20 dollar player (watch the online deals forum, I do recommend Coby brand) - see how well they take care of it, and possibly upgrade next year. Unless you have lots of money to toss around and money isn't an issue - then go for ipod. If I had unlimited cash, my kids would have gotten ipods the first year they asked, sadly no unlimited funds here. lol

I do not see it with the gift card anymore either. (maybe they will re-do this deal again soon, otherwise looks like there's another similar deal in the online deals forum)

No, this 20% off Coupon won't work on an iPod - well, I say it shouldn't. Here is the fine print: 'Coupon Valid on all Super Wow Deals in this ad.' So with that said, I would think it would only work on items that say Super Wow Deal in the ad.

It looks like you do have to print out the 20% off coupon from the TRU website, there's also a Baby Coupon on page 4 you'd need to print if you want to use - these are in the main 2 day ad. Now, with the Bonus pages/ad, it looks like you may need the ad for it, because the one for $10 off $30 Melissa and Doug is a coupon and I don't see that it says 'print'. Edit: I just tried calling my local TRU store to see if they will be carrying the ad in-store or if it will be in the newspaper - however they are not open for the day yet; and I'm off to an appointment.

I think there's a good possibility it will be a BF item - but not sure how much lower than that $34.99 price. Just checked on Walmarts site, it's $49.96 right now. Could you buy it now from TRU for $34.99, tape the receipt to the box - then hang on to it until all the BF ads are leaked and posted here on GottaDeal and see how low its' BF price is? If it's enough lower, then I *think* you could return the TRU one, and buy the cheaper one on BF - I believe this item would fall under TRU's 90-day return policy (you know, w/ receipt and unopened - you could double check w/ your store about the policy with this item to be safe). Fwiw, I was searching around online to compare prices, and I can't remember which store it was, but I was floored with Fingerhuts $89.99 price for this! OH! Thought of something, if you do buy this at TRU, check the TRU Toy book you got in the mail, sunday paper, or the one in store - some of them have $10 off $100 or $10 off $75 Coupons - so maybe you could combine the coupon with the purchase of this and a few other toys too. hth

I got an email from Toys R Us that is quite misleading imo. See the image below, it does state ALL toys! But when I click on the 'see details' it shows this list: HERE http://img.toysrus.com/toys_us/images/TRU_20111031_Layaway/TRU_Layaway_15.jpg Personally I think it's a wee bit bogus if they are only doing large items, and then they send out a email stating 'all toys'. If it were me trying to put a toy on layaway, I'd print out the email and take it to them, and say then they should false advertise.
