  2. If I were to dress up for Black Friday I would dress up like Sonic the Hedgehog so I could beat everyone to all of the good deals at all of the stores and be done by 6:05 am.
  3. I would buy: Best Buy - Samsung Blu-ray $149.99 Best Buy - Acer 20" monitor x2 $79.99 Walmart - Nintendo DS lite $98.00 Walmart - Tom Tom XL325 $89.00 Total $496.97
  4. My first real Black Friday experience was a mess. I decided that rather than go at any set time I would just drive by the Best Buy every hour or so until there were a few people in line then I wouldn't have to spend as long outside in the cold. Not a great idea but I did end up like 10th in line after my third drive by. Then I realized that I had 5 hours of sitting out in the cold to look forward to and I hadn't planned this out at all. I was sitting on the cold ground in single layers with a jacket and gloves on. After 1 1/2 hours freezing my tail off I decide that I can't make it this way and I go to Meijer to buy a warm sleeping blanket and some hand warmers. When I come back I am 50th in line. Planning not only what you want to buy but also how you are going to be able to stand in line all night is VERY important!
  5. 1. For me the best ad was Walmart because I was able to cover 50+% of my gifts at that one store. 2. Don't do it alone. Get a buddy or better yet a group. If some are experienced BF shoppers then they can help the novice if not then you can all learn together. Jumping in alone can be overwhelming. 3. I think it would be nice to see stores appreciate the effort/dedication that bfers put into this by having a little more organization to how deals are located (maps, etc.) and control over the hordes that rush the doors at opening.
  6. I think the picture is wrong...According to Samsung's website the 100 series has only 8MP and the Walmart ad clearly states that the camera is 10MP. My guess would be that the image used in the ad is similar enought to the l200 so they used it. Hopefully I am right because I am planning on getting one for my daughter on Friday.
  7. Looks like I might get lucky and have three teams going this year so we will probably be at BB, Walmart and Meijer to start the day. Walmart and Meijers are given but I am still deciding on BB, I think I want a laptop but can't decide for sure.
  8. Well as I stated it may be capable of running the application but when I used CS3 if the laptop was even moderately equipped Photoshop would be slow, I couldn't imagine trying it on some of these entry level pcs. I guess it all depends on what you are used to and what you are doing with the laptop. When I think of someone asking about using Photoshop on a laptop I am assuming that they are using it for detailed graphics work were you will tend to have tons of layers and effects going on thereby using up tons on memory and working the harddrive pretty well. Now if you just want to run photoshop because you like to use it to crop images or make prank images then these will work fine.
  9. I would seriously doubt that any laptop you could buy for $400 would adequately run photoshop. I mean obviously it would run but the graphics cards in these machines are horrible, the hard drives are slow and small, and the screens do not have the resolution that you should have for graphics work. My guess for a low end machine for graphic would be something like $650-700. This is kind of where I am look but I want a machine for web development and some gaming. JMO Good luck!
  10. The 35 LED Craftsman work light is on sale for $16.99. I gave the Black Friday Tv video 5 stars.
  11. Done and done. I hope this helps.
  12. Good, idea. I will take my 2 and my wife can take the other three green bags we got for free. On BF I am guessing that I will wish they were bigger though!
  13. I think it would be interesting to take the ticket system one step further. Maybe 1 or 2 hours before the store opens, when they go to hand out tickets, have the employees get your items setup at the register. Kind of like a concierge service but with a time limit. SO you stand in line for 20 hours at Best Buy and your second in line. You get the 10 ticket items you wanted so everything is going well. Then a Best buy employee asks if they could help you by gettting all of your items ready at the register. Now all you have to do is go in and pay. Its a win win. Less people in the store and the store is showing those die hard customer that they want to take care of them. Now I said there was a time limit so if you don't go to the register within say 20-30 minutes all your stuff is sold off. No store hopping once you have your tickets!
  14. I always plan for me to be at Best Buy and the wife to be at Walmart but until the ads start showing up nothing is for sure.
  15. I agree with the idea of being able to leave the line for a bathroom break or even warm up in the car for a few minutes but I often see people sitting in the cars or worse yet sleeping in bed all night and then jump in line with their buddies that were "holding " their place. That is what gets me. I wish that the stores would or could help with this but I know there isn't much that could be done here. If you are patiently sitting there in the line for 90+% of the time I am ok with the need for an occasional break. The problem here is that the RV really can't be in the line so I would have to say that more than likely you would be spending more time in the RV than in line so to me this is not right.
  16. I have sent emails to our local news companies: newsdesk at wlwt.com Paula Toti At local12.com John Matarese at wcpo.com desk at fox19.com localsnews at enquirer.com Edwina Blackwell Clark at coxohio.com
  17. I have seen RVs in a Walmart lot but never a Best Buy or anything like that. As far as using an RV to wait in a BF line I am going to go with my stance on the people that sit in their cars, I you aren't in the line all night toughing it out the you aren't really in line you are just watching the line and as far as I am concerned you can go to the end of the line. Unless of course you can find a way to park the rv on the stores front side walk and then I guess you would be physically in line like the tent guys.
  18. RECORD TIME: 5 minutes in store! My quickest time in a store on BF was two years ago at BestBuy. It was my first year of actually showing up the night before but I was out to get a laptop, desktop and some misc items. I got in line at probably 11pm or so and there were about 10 people in front of me. GREAT!!! It was very cold that year and I was not prepared so after an hour or so I called the wife and asked here to bring down a sleeping bag or blankets. She apparenetly went back to sleep because an hour later still freezing my ass off. There were only maybe 5 people in line behind me now. I couldn't stand it anymore so I drove back home and got a sleeping bag some hand warmers and thicker clothes, back to Best Buy I go. Now I am about 30-40 people back, apparently everyone waited til I left to jump in line. I was still hoping that I could get what I wanted.... hours later the laptop, desktop and most ever other item tickets were handed out and did not make it to me. All I got for my wait was a mp3 player for my sister. Once I got in and found the mp3 player I was the first person to the register.
  19. LOL, I remember the good old days when I was a kid, sitting down with the Sears Christmas catalog and circling all the really cool stuff I wanted. Oddly, I still like to go through the sale ads and circle things but now I only circle stuff on sale.
  20. Four or five years now and trying to get better at it each year. Last year was the first that I was fairly serious and did lots of prep work but then funds ran short and I couldn't get much help so I didn't get all the deals I wanted. Hopefully this year works out better.
  21. $230 Toshiba latptop/printer Couple of DVDs $100 19" lcd monitor ( not 100% sure on this yet) $20 laptop bag and mouse
  22. Agreed! Not to mention the fact that most ATMs have a daily limit set too.
  23. The biggest has to be Target's $1 gloves these are probably $4 normally which makes them 75% off -- that amazing!!!
