  1. Has anyone had any luck with the buy 4 $5 hat code? I keep typing the one that is on the page:

    LIDS4f12

and it says it is invalid?

They still advertise it right on the banner at the top fo the page, so it's not dead. Go to clearance, then on the right, choose $5 hats, and the red banner up top will say "buy 4 $5 hats for $12 LIDS4f12" right there.

  2. the $10 ones have a much better selection. At least for college teams. I'll be gettign 4 of the $10 ones, one for myself, and 3 for my friends. I'm screwed though, because their teams all have their sizes, but the U of MN gophers is only available in size 7. I need to find a differente one I want then I can order all 4 (Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida State, and wahtever I choose) These will be great xmas presents.
  3. ONce you click clearance, on the right twards the bottom, you can choose to see $5, $10, or $15 hats. There's not much for guys except the white college caps, but it is a sweet deal.

Don't seem to be able to directly link, but it should be easy to find. It even lists the 4 for $12 deal right on the top of the page once you're in teh $5 hat section.

    They also have 4 $10 hats for $25 (LIDS4F25) and 4 $15 hats for $35 (LIDS4F35)

  4. Longhorn - thanks for all the information! Either camera will be expensive, so I just want to make sure I'm making the best choice:) Thanks for your help:)

It's all up to you. I personally don't think the XTi is worth the extra money. The 10.1 mp didn't interest me since it's the same image sensor you're cramming more pixels into. Some reviews even say that the 10mp may be too much for that sensor which causes noise. The more shots per second an the a/f points are about all I'd want, and that's just not worth the money, especially since this is my first SLR camera. I think later, if I updraged, it would be a 40D or something anyways. It's all personal preference, how much you want to spend, and what's important to you. Personally, I don't think the XTi is worth it.

  5. I do know Sears had a STEAL on the Rebel XT for like $385 with kit lens a month or so ago. So there are deals out there. I personally don't think the BB package, or any SLR package advertised is a good deal. I bet I could spend 5 min on the internet and find a cheaper price. I believe that BB package is just $50 off.

The 75-300 is a good lens still, and will work fine for you. Especially for outdoors. Indoors plays/programs, etc might not work so well. That's what the 50mm is for as long as you're ok with a fixed focal length. And if you do ever want to upgrade, selling a lens like that won't be hard.

  6. To answer a few questions here...

I would not buy that Panasonic camera. It'll be low quality 640x480 or something similar to that and it'll also write to a memory card which will have limited record time, especially at your higher settings. I think you'd be upset wiht the product unless you're just looking for something that takes the same quality video that most regular digital camera's take now.

MiniDVD vs MiniDV is not that big of a deal. Both are re-writeable, and I believe both transfer to the computer in about the same time. The DVD is probably faster in that respect. You can make your own DVD's with both no problem, and tehre's no difference in the actual video quality between them. That said, BB has miniDV tapes dirt cheap BF (I got a few packs last year) so that may affect your decision. I wouldn't worry so much about whether the camera has mini DV or DVD but instead worry about the quality of the product and the video it puts out. I'm partial to Canon myself and would reccomend the ZR800 series for a really nice, well priced camera. They're $300 or less regular price, so hopefully they're available somwhere on BF. Again, these are my opinions, but I like to think I know what I'm talking about :D
