  1. Well that's definitely a mixed bag. Thankful they're doing snowglobes for sure but doubt I'll get one thanks to opening time. I can only hope someone else is able to pick one up for us or I'll have to buy on eBay again :(

Just curious, how much do they usually go for?
  2. My Aunt got confirmation via email that they would be handing out snowglobes in store. If i miss out because of a dinner i don't want to go to i will not be amused

Thanks for the info. Why wouldn't they put it in the ad? It seems counterproductive to not advertise something meant to get people in the door. I also read on the "bring back jcp snowglobes" Facebook page that JCP Facebook confirmed snowglobes. So who knows. I won't be there on Thanksgiving regardless.

ETA. They are definitely doing snowglobes:

  3. I know Bath and Body usually offers a "gift bag" type of a thing with a min. purchase on BF. Does anyone remember what there sales are for hand soaps? I was thinking maybe 6-$25?? I see they have online now 4-$18 and 6-$24? Wondering if it's just as good of a deal to order now then it is in a few weeks?

I find that they run their typical promos, but BF has the advantage of using multiple coupons in one transaction.

  4. I have no idea what anyone wants yet except my 3 kids, my oldest wants a sewing machine, fabric, body form so she can make dresses...

Definitely look for the Joann's ad if you have one near you. They have dress forms on sale every year. You can look at last year's ad to get a price idea to determine if you can find it cheaper prior using coupons.
  5. What is Black Friday like at Lowe's? I have never gone to Lowe's on BF but I saw something in the small preview ad (the steel shelving for my garage) that was something I was going to go get this weekend but at a $30 savings x a few, I can wait a few weeks.  But if it's totally nutty, like other places, I may consider just getting it now or ordering from Walmart in their pre-BF sale ($10 more than Lowe's BF sale but still $20 less than regular price).  So my questions are: 1) is Lowe's crazy on BF and 2) do you think those shelving units will be a big sell/sell out?

Lowes is pretty quiet.  The stuff in the ad tend to be in different locations in the main aisles, but ask someone and they can point you in the right direction.  I can always walk right up to a register to check out.

  6. Black Friday deals are available in store and on staples.com while supplies last and include:

Kindle Fire with Special Offers for $79.99 (save $80)

HP Pavilion Chromebook for $179.99 (save $150)

    Toshiba C55D-A5382 Laptop for $249.99 (save $200)

Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone for $49.99 after savings with new 2-year contract agreement or qualified 2-year upgrade. Available on Staples.com and select stores.

Hmm I wonder if Amazon will match the Kindle Fire price.  I would fully expect cancellations later if ordering from staples.com.  In my experiences with their website in the past (non-Black Friday), the inventory does not update very accurately or quickly.  They have recently updated their website, so maybe that has been fixed.

  7. I think I saw on the home page that they open at 6a, but they actually open at 7am.  The online Thanksgiving sale starts at 6am on Thursday.

    From the link above:

"The in-store Black Friday sale starts on Friday, Nov. 29 when most stores will open at 7 a.m. across the United States."

  8. you dont understand what i said, the blue laws are in effect in some northern states, that says the are not allowed at all to be open on thanksgiving. Employees are not even allowed to be clocked in till 12:01 am which means either they start the sale then or wait till 1 am to give employees time to setup

Sorry I probably should have added that the blue laws would be the only way they will change unless people refuse to patronize the stores (which they won't).
  9. I honestly think states need to start stepping in and pass their own blue laws

I don't like the early times and as a result won't be going to a lot of these stores. Realistically the stores aren't going to change if it is still profitable. People still go at 8pm on Thanksgiving, so it isn't going to change.

  10. Wow did you see the "1 hour guarantee"? The 3 items are guaranteed to be there for an hour and if not you get a guarantee card the ensures you get the item via ship to store before Christmas.

How big of a cluster will Walmart make this? :2roller:
