  1. Which PX is that? I'm at Fort Campbell and they just renovated so we have the biggest PX in the country supposadly. They never opened that early before I wonder if they will this year.

    Mara

    Fort Benning, GA.

I'm pretty sure the 12:01am time is official, because a few people have asked me if I'm going to be working then.

"Sony CyberShot 6MP Digital Camera $135.00"

Just wanted to let everyone know that that camera is probably the DSC-S500.

SONY Cyber-shot Digital Still Camera DSC-S500

    * 6.0 Megapixel Super HAD CCD for cropping and big prints

    * 3X Optical/2X Digital Zoom to bring subjects closer

    * Optional Memory Stick Duo media recording

    * Large 2.4" LCD Screen for shooting and sharing

    * Cyber-shot Viewer software for PC thumbnail viewing

A decent camera, but nothing to write home about.

  3. Under $100 for a 4 megapixel camera? That can't be a very good camera.

I'd rather have a decent quaility 3 megapixel camera, than a low quality 4 megapixel one.

If you want a camera that can print 8x10 photos from, then buy one with as high a megapixel range as you can and just do any cleanup of the images on the computer before you print.

If you're only going to be printing 4x6 photos, then you would probably be better off with a nice 3.2 megapixel camera.

  4. Let's see:

    Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

    Garfield Christmas (1987)

    Claymation Christmas (1987)

    Christmas Carol (1999)

I think those are the only ones I'm going to plan on watching this year. If something else airs on TV during December, I might watch it as well.

Nitpicking the OP: why write X-Mas? I've never heard anyone say Christ-Mas before? (How would you say that anyway? Christ "moss"? Christ "mass"?) I think the correct way to write it would be Christmas or (for those who like Greek) Xmas. :smart:

I guess I just sometimes think about how a post would sound if read aloud.

  5. If I remember correctly, SDTV is 480i, EDTV is 480p, and HDTV is 720p & 1080i (maybe 1080p as well).

Regular DVDs use a resolution of 720x480, so 480p is fine. In general, HDTV is supposed to look better than a DVD because it uses 720p or 1080i.

  6. I sell printers at Best Buy and I'll be there

    Friday 9am-3pm

    Saturday 11am-5pm

    Sunday 1pm-5pm

Is anyone else here working at a store this weekend? Bestbuy7, are you one of the guys who has to go in an hour before the store opens and then work like 10 hours or something?

  7. I'm a little confused. What does a signature (either text or a remote image) have to do with site traffic? It can't use more bandwidth (since they wouldn't be hosted locally) so is it just more of a courtesy to those visitors who might be using dialup or some other slower type of internet connection?

I guess it does kind of make things easier to read without signatures, regardless of the bandwidth concerns.

I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining; I'm just curious.

  8. Thanks for that link. I'm currently working as a vendor at Best Buy and I find it funny when people tell me how great they think Best Buy is.

Most of the people I've worked with there are good, intelligent people, and even some of the managers are okay, but most of the higher-ups I've come into contact with are a little too rude and greedy.

From what I've heard, though, Best Buy is just as good, if not better, than most other retail chains out there. It really comes down to how you personally were treated in a store.

  9. I just added an image to my sig and now it's not showing up. Actually, I can't see anyone's signature at all.

    http://forums.gottadeal.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

    I have all these enabled:

    Show Signatures

    Show Avatars

Show Images (including attached images and images in code)

My signature does show up on the Preview Post screen, though.

Has GottaDeal disabled all signatures on the forums or is there just something wrong in my profile settings?

  10. It looks like the ad says, "

$29.99 with purchase of digital camera

    Sale $109.99 - $30 Radio Shack rebate - $50 Epson bundle rebate = $29.99

    Regular price $129.99

    "

So if you buy just the PictureMate from Radio Shack, it will be $79.99 after rebate, the same price as Best Buy.

  11. The Lexmark X1185 connects through USB only, not a parallel port.

I also must reiterate that I do not recommend this all-in-one to anyone who wants good quality photos or good value on ink cartridges.

EDIT- Although ink price isn't always a good indication of ink value, I'll go ahead and list the standard price for the Lexmark 16 and 26 here:

    Lexmark 16 Black $29.99

    Lexmark 26 Color $32.99

  12. Thanks for the help.

I ended up getting 2 sets (8 items total) of this:

    http://www.tableandhome.com/prodfibgd

The store listed only 3 left in stock, so I didn't want to take any chances with them running out.

There are only 6 girls who work in the same department as me, so if I had more time I would've searched around a few different websites for 6 items instead of 8.

Oh well, I hope I got a good deal.

Interestingly enough, I also got an email from eBay about the item that I lost. The seller is offering it again, but I think I'll stick with the order I made at TAH.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5446437157

  13. I'm looking for some stuffed animals that play Christmas music.

Last year, I found a little mouse stuffed animal dressed up in a Santa suit for under $10 and I'm looking for something similiar this year.

I searched on eBay, but this is the only auction I saw:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5444107437

I'm trying to get about 6 of them and I don't want to spend more than $6 or $7 each.

Can anyone here help me out?

    Thanks.

  14. I'm pretty sure Best Buy has gift cards that include a $5 coupon off a video game.

    Check the video game department.

Also, I picked up Dragon Quest VIII the other day, but I think I'm going to save it for Christmas :-)

edmicman: I loved Dragon Warrior II for NES. I never actually beat it, though, so maybe I should go ahead and get a save state just to see the ending ;)
