  1. I'm curious (since they're twins) - who's DS#1 and who's DS#2?

Tony is DS#1 by about 2 mins, making Roger DS#2 and the one wanting the ipod mini.

Actually now that the "nano" is out he's thinking he wants that one. I swear that kid can't make up his mind for anything. He's the one that had the PSP for all of a week before taking it back because he just didn't think he was "getting his money's worth". He'll buy a paintball gun and keep it for no longer than 3 or 4 months before upgrading. Of course, that was before they took up dove and deer hunting and he's now sold off all his paintball guns for shotguns and a 30/30...

  2. I have been :2dog: around looking for sour lifesavers for the past few days. Walmart, a local supermarket, gas stations, etc., do not carry them.

WHERE CAN I FIND SOME SOUR LIFESAVERS? :stir:

I order them for the office from officedepot.com

    Edit:

    They're called "Tangy Fruit"

  3. If he likes Bose, he will be blown away by the Sure E2C. They are $64.99 at Buy.com, but you can probably get the new customer discount to take $5 off.

I can't seem to locate these. (I'm more than a little distracted today.) Do you have a link?

I just looked up the Bose QuietComfort 2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones. Those things are $300.00! He wouldn't mind paying it, but if I could find him something just as good at a better price I know he would appreciate it.

I could also get them using his Amex Rewards Points, but they're 35,000 points! This year he decided to give us 10,000 points for our birthdays for a $100 gift certificate. If I spend 35,000 for the headphones, he'd only have around 40,000 points left and we potentially wouldn't get the gc-s next year.

  4. Hmm. We've used a cloth but not canned air. Does Walmart have that, or would I have to go to an office supply store?

WalMart has it. As a matter of fact, I just bought one over the weekend to clean out my Aunt's computer. It cost about $6 and will last a good while, provided you're not cleaning out a computer that has been sitting in a VERY dusty corner for nearly 3 years and had never had the cover taken off.
  5. I have HAD IT with our current stereo sytem. It's an Audiovox 5-cd changer model with decent speakers...not huge or expensive but it fits our needs nicely. When it actually plays the CDs, anyway. Ever since we first started using it, it's had trouble recognizing that there are actually CDs in it. The thing will be loaded and it will just annoyingly blink "no disc." It was a gift, so there was no receipt, and dh was an idiot and didn't open and hook up the thing till something like 6 months after Christmas the year we got it ("but I can't decide if we should have it upstairs or downstairs!"), so there's no sense in trying to return it.

So rather than toting my little kitchen mini boombox thingie upstairs every time I want to play a CD, or listening to music through the TV (that has a built-in DVD player) as the sound quality kinda sucks, I want to just throw the stupid thing away and buy a new one.

It doesn't have to be a 5-cd changer; a 3 would do. It doesn't have to play tapes or anything else, just CDs, and it needs to actually WORK.

The cheaper the better. Anything over $100 is out of the question, so all the "good" models are out of my budget. $50 would be nice but I have a feeling I'd wind up with another piece of junk for that price. I am not excited about spending money on this but I am very eager to have the satisfaction of throwing this stupid thing we own now in the trash. LOL.

FYI - I had the same experience with a 6-changer CD once. It just needed to be cleaned. This may or may not be the problem, but it's worth the cost of canned air to see if that solves the problem.

  6. I ended up going with the 128MB. 256 would have probably been okay, too, but no sense paying for something she won't use even if it is only a few extra dollars. (One of the guys that had put in a review had an older model camera and after 130MB, the 256 card wouldn't accept anymore pics, so that was one of my deciding factors.) Anyway, she got the 128 for $12.53 ($17.xx w/shipping) and she's pleased.

Thanks, again, for all your help.

  7. I'd say ebay:

Note that these items are very cheap (like 2 cents) if you buy it in bulk (wholesale) in China

I was just looking at this exact seller a few minutes ago. I guess I'll let her look at them and see if she wants one. I'm perfectly happy with the black cover that came with the phone.

Funny... I can remember my first cell phone, a really bulky Nokia, and all the accessories I had for it. Now I just stick it in my purse or pocket and forget about it. Guess the novelty wore off fast.
