  1. I ended up getting a dual montior portable DVD player reg $229 final cost paid was $124. Good deal with over $100 in savings. My mom got a digital camera and saves about $60, and my aunt got a steroe and saved about $60. Most people were buying the big flat screen TVs...which we already have ours. It's funny, my husband told a ton of people he worked with about the sale since it wasn't highly advertised, but they were all eligible to go. So this morning he called from work and not one person he had told went to the sale! I guess people a lot of people don't like a bargain like we do!
  2. I believe it is just a local only thing. It is happening tonight at the Auburn Maine and Topsham Maine stores. We have lots of other BB in Maine, but those weren't included on the flyer. I don't think it was very advertised. I think some flyers were given out to fire depts etc, but I never saw anything in the paper or flyers even posted in the store. I'm having my husband bring the flyer we have with him. I am thinking about a dual portable DVD player too since ours is about dead (skips and restarts all the time) and the babies are currently obsessed with Elmo in the car (19 month old twins).
  3. I am going for an LCD TV, I think there are pretty good mark ups on those. I doubt the discount would be much on a gaming system either. I am just trying to find a place that even has the wii to buy. Just the console system.
  4. I went there today to compare a bunch of TVs so I would know how much $ etc and what I was going for. I asked a saleperson for pricing for Sunday and he got the mgr. She basically said it is all confidential and they can only release the employee discounts on Sunday night so they don't "get into the wrong hands." I just wanted to have an idea of what I was buying before Sunday. I would hate to have to get SKUs for 20 TVs, 10 different cameras, accessories etc to compare prices. I bet it is going to be a big mess on Sunday with everyone trying to figure out the prices.
  5. Our local Best Buy is having a Hometown Heroes sale this Sunday. People that work for fire, military, hospitals etc are invited from 8-10pm. During this time you get the employee discount price of cost + 5%. So I am interested in buying a digital camera, an LCD TV and possibly a gaming system...and who knows what else. So I called to see how we would know the price of items since the base is "cost." I mean, how does the public know what the cost of a particular item is. I want to get the best deals and lowest cost items. The guy said we would have to write down all the SKU's of what we are interested in and bring them to the cash register line. The cashier would then give the prices. He said it would be hard to tell beforehand as some brands give a better discount than others. So I wanted to research different cameras and lcd tv's beforehand. I want to check out prices and reviews so I have an idea as to what I am going for. But without knowing the cost how can I do that without researching every single option and waiting until that day to give a gazillion SKU's for everything? Does anyone know which brands give the best deals, or which cameras or smaller (under 27" TV's) might be the least expensive with the Best Buy employee discount?
  6. I have 18 month old twins (B/G) and my daughter is officially obsessed with Elmo. We have a portable DVD player in the car for long rides and always have Elmo on it. So whenever she sees any type of screen or laptop she points and asks for "emmo." So I pre-ordered one of these for her for Christmas. We watched the video of it together online and she LOVED it. We'll see how much she really plays with it though.
  7. I do! Here is the link for the one I just got. http://www.childrensplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EmailJump?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&jumpId=OctoberBCC&age=3&CodeId=CLUBENJBUGA8&cm_ven=Emails&cm_cat=100108&cm_pla=OctoberBirthdayClub&cm_ite=CouponT Hopefully this works, I haven't posted one before.
  8. Great deal. One present off my list. I also applied for the Cabelas Visa and it took $20 off and made it $9.98. I will just pay it right off.
  9. I had my desktop and laptop set to go. The second it hit 8pm I put in for the room. It did it's search and wait thing for 10 minutes then a page came up and said they were all sold out. I seriously clicked 1 second after 8pm...must be some fast clickers out there. Anyone have any luck?
  10. So glad I found this post. I needed a b-day present...and got one for myself (lol)
  11. I just clicked it and it came up fine for me again. I have it saved if you want me to email it to you
  12. Finally I have a deal to share! I got an email from kmart about secret unadvertised deals. It brings you to a page here http://www.kmart.com/ue/home/emailblast_12_16_FINAL.pdf with tons of coupons for in-store only. On page 2 there is a coupon for $20 off braided rugs of $20 or more! They can be regular price, sale or clearance. I just went and they took the coupon no problem...scanned right in. So I got a 22"x34" braided rug http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_14300037CR462000B?keyword=braided+rug for 5 bucks! Would make a good gift for Christmas, yourself or a housewarming. They had colors like white and blue, all blue, burgandy, ever green, black and tan etc. Thought it was a good find. I hope someon else takes advantage of it! There are 6 pages of great coupons on the page. They expire Dec 22nd.
  13. I must be braindead or something. I have 2 swissmiss diet coacoas in my cart and a slim jim (both offered by amazon). Total $52 but it won't let me use the conagra1 code for some reason. Maybe because I have 2 of the same thing (swiss miss??)
  14. I just came back from kmart and they had at least 8 of the 32" LCD TVS left sitting there. In Maine our Kmarts are not open on Thanksgiving so the sale was today. And this was at noon and they opened at 7 or 8am today.
  15. Hmmmm...I can't get the link to work at all. And of course I was excited to get lots of these and be done with some of the smaller gifts we need. Am I the only one that the page does not open for?
  16. Last night I got the signed emeril cookbook and some egg whist for $1.95. so they gave me the $5 off and the code worked for me. Total was like 2.24 and $5.50 shipping= $7.74. I got the error code when trying to place the order (not invalid) but like the site was down. I tried again in a bit and it went through. Got confirmation email today.
  17. I am on their mailing list as I am expecting twins in April. I just got a flyer yesterday that has a 10% off any monitor coupon. I am not using it and would send it to you if you want. It would only be $10 bucks off, but 10 bucks is 10 bucks :) my email is [email protected]
  18. Definintely keep me up to date. Thanks for the heads up. We are expecting twins in April, so any deal on clothes and I am all over it. We have a Children's Place Oulet not too far from here and I LOVE their 99cent wall! Tanya
  19. My experience there was great. I am prego with twins so I was tired from rushing from the front to the back for things I had forgot. I plopped myself in a wheelchair at the front and my mom started piling things around me :) We got up and waited in line about 45 minutes. They ran out of the 7" portable dvd players with the rebate fast. So the manager said he would honor a substitution for the 9" ones. Figures we didn't grab one. He was selling them for $49.99 since they obviously didn't have a mnfr rebate associated with them. So people in line were psyched to get the 9" one cheaper than the 7" one! All the associates were super helpful at showing me where certain items were etc. Kohls had the best deals where I am compared to every other store. Tanya
  20. I was wondering if anyone went for these last year? I am prego with twins and the thought of trying to get that thing in my vehicle that day just doesn't sit well. I was wondering if it would fit in a car (backseat) or if I need to scam the truck from my hubby. Was also wondering if you can buy things at home depot and go back later to pick them up. So if I bought the ladder in the am then had a friend come later with a truck to help me pick it up. I saw it online for the same price this morning, but of course it didn't qualify for the free shipping because of the weight. Wonder if they have a lot of them? Tanya
  21. I am in the market for a laptop, of course I am pretty clueless. I work from a home office using my desktop for powerpoint etc. I would still keep the majority of work on desktop, but would like to be able to use a laptop in other areas of the house. Would this be a good machine that would hold microsoft office. I would only use for emailing, web searching, and occassionally a powerpoint or word doc, but I could easily save to cd and transfer if I need to get it off the laptop. Now if I just knew how to set up a network ha ha. Any of the upgrades you would recommend? Tanya
  22. Thanks a ton! I printed out two of these and went this weekend. My hubby in one line with a rug $40 and some clamps and it worked. (clamps do not seem like home decor to me). I was in another line getting nothing but primer and ceiling paint...coupon worked there too. Thanks for saving us $20 bucks! I think this will work on just about anything. Tanya
  23. I guess I'll set the alarm for 12am and check it out. I hope it starts then or I'll be irritated that I woke myself up with so little sleep tonight
  24. Does anyone know what time this apple sale starts? I am ready to set my alarm for a little before midnight, but would hate to wake up and check only to find out it is 5am or something. And then not be able to go back to sleep for a whole 2 hours before I am up again and ready to go wait in line.
