  1. thanks for the warning!

This is why everyone needs to stay here at GD. Brad and the other mods here work very hard to give you the most up to date info and the upper hand in your BF shopping.

It is very easy to set up a site and set a trap like a virus. I can set one up in 10 minutes. So everyone lets stay here and soon we will have the WM ad.

  2. I'll be on vacation in Vegas this Thanksgiving and will be doing my bf shopping there. I see there is a best buy not too far from the Monte Carlo Hotel. I'm looking to get the $399 Sony Vaio laptop.

    Question:

    1. Is this one that will sell out fast (The ad list it as a door buster)

    2. How early should I be there in this location for this item?

I called my friend who lives in LV and works at the Wynn.

She said that store near the strip is always packed. She said to get there around noon on thanksgiving.

  3. The week of Black Friday you will be able to download a map of your local store and on that map will tell you which line to get in for each doorbuster.

This is JUST what we have been looking for ...Barbie Power Wheels Jeep.. and for only $88.00! Now, if we can just get one!

Wonder where it will be placed in the store?!

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is considered a local retail competitor?

A retail store located in the same market area as your local Best Buy store.

What is considered "proof" of price?

If you have already purchased the item, the best way to show proof of price is to bring in your original Best Buy receipt, plus the competitor's current ad. We reserve the right to call the competitor's store to verify the lower price and availability of the item.

How do you handle a price match if the Best Buy price includes a promotional offer such as a free gift card or rebate?

The Best Buy net purchase price is calculated by deducting the value of all instant and mail-in discounts such as rebates, free offers and promotional gift cards. Existing rebates and free offers associated with a product purchased at Best Buy will not apply if a price match is executed.

How do you handle a price match if the competitor's price includes a rebate or other promotional offer?

The competitor's net purchase price is calculated by deducting instant discounts taken at the register such as instant rebates. Mail-in rebates and other deferred savings are not deducted from the competitor's purchase price.

How do you handle a price match if an instant gift card is included with a purchase?

The value of an instant gift card with purchase will be considered when calculating a price match. If the combined value of a competitor's product and instant gift card is lower than the combined value of Best Buy's product price and instant gift card, Best Buy will match either the price or the instant gift card value, depending on the offer.

What if the competitor does not have the item in stock or has limited quantities of the product?

Sometimes a retailer will advertise a very low price for a product but have only limited quantities in stock. If the item is out of stock or the competitor has limited quantities of an item, it is not eligible for price matching. Likewise, if Best Buy has a product that is advertised as being limited in quantity it will not be eligible for price matching.

Are Best Buy services eligible for price matching?

Due to the differences in services being performed, Best Buy does not match competitors' service prices. This includes, but is not limited to, services such as delivery, installation and computer services.

What does it mean not to match a competitor's price that results in a price match?

Best Buy will not price match to a local competitor's price that has already been reduced by a price match.

Can I have my price match request processed over the phone or online?

We are currently not able to process your request over the phone or online. However, if you have questions regarding the policy, call our Customer Care Center anytime at 1-888-BestBuy or visit BestBuy.com.

What if I find a lower price at another Best Buy store or on BestBuy.com?

If an item you purchased at Best Buy is advertised at a lower price at another Best Buy store in your local area or on BestBuy.com, we'll refund you the price difference from our own sale price during the exchange and return period on your product. Simply bring in your original Best Buy receipt to the customer service counter while that lower price is still in effect.

What is an "online only offer?"

It is a product or a price that is only offered to online buyers. Best Buy does not match BestBuy.com online only offers in our stores.

Does Best Buy match prices of Internet retailers?

Best Buy does not match the prices of Internet-only retailers or the online only offers of our local retail competitors. If you find a local retail competitor honoring its own online prices, we'll match their price. Eligible items must be the same brand and model, and currently in stock at the local retail competitors store. For purchases made at BestBuy.com, please see our BestBuy.com Price Match Guarantee Policy.

Will you price match with the Best Buy site on my mobile phone (m.bestbuy.com)?

Yes. m.bestbuy.com has the same pricing and is treated the same as Best Buy.com.

Will you price match iPhone Apps?

Yes. The iPhone Applications have the same pricing and will be treated the same as BestBuy.com.

  7. I have enjoyed all of the comments that you guys have posted about my news why I am not camping out. Some of you have asked why I am not camping out so I will share with you.

When the BF section of the site opened up I got excited. I knew soon BB ad would be leaked and there would be great things. This year like last I was sad and let down. I come from the old school of Black Friday where this site and another was the only resource of info on Black Friday. Also you did not have to stand in line for more then 6 hours. Since I live in North Texas most families around here eat turkey in the morning so everyone can watch the Dallas Cowboy game. I would take a nap and hit BB around 10pm Thursday and I would get what I want.

Time have changed big time big time. Who would think back in 2000 when I started to do Black Friday that 2 MAJOR computer retailers would not be in business now. Black Friday has become such a publicity machine for the stores and 24 hour news media and I think they have forgotten what is a deal. When I started doing BF there were no large large lines like they are now. The stores take for granted that mobs of people will be there which they are. Many of you who read this leave Gottadeal.com for the year after Black Friday. I have stayed around for the last few years and have gotten Black Friday pricing or better on alot of the stuff I was in line for on BF just from the deals that are posted here. For example I have gotten TVs and hard drives for very lost cost.

Alot of you know that I am a BIG Best Buy fan and I am still am. Some of you have asked me why is the BB ad not so good. Is it because of CC going out of business? I dont know. I do know the pricing was sweet in years past. Thanks to H_Hancock they have posted a nice chart to show you what the pricing in the past has looked like.

Consider BB and desktops: (All listed below were front page doorbusters...not secret sales)

    '07........eMachines Celeron Desktop w/ 17" LCD & All-in-One Printer - $199.97

    '06........eMachines Desktop Celeron-D Deskop with 15" LCD - $189.97

    '05........eMachines Celeron Desktop w/ 17" Monitor - $149.99 (Last year for a CRT monitor)

    '04........eMachines PC (Celeron 2.66GHz, 17" CRT, 512MB, 80GB, DVD/CD-RW) - $199.98 AR (Last year BB had rebates with doorbusters)

As you can see the pricing has gone up year after year. So the reasons I am not camping out is because the pricing and the ads are not good to stand in line for 48 plus hours. As I said the lines are large because of the media hype over BF. I am not in need for a computer for a long time because I just spent 7k on a MacPro Desktop that will last me for a good 8 years. I am looking for some TVs for my parents and my girlfriends family but I already got some early last month off of GD deal section.

Some of you asked about my port a potty and my group that camps out. They will have a port a potty and I am making the people from my group who camps out a Indian and Southern Kosher Thanksgiving. Some of the people are Indian (India) and a few are Jewish and the rest of from the south so I will have something for everyone. I always take care of my friends no matter what.

If anyone has any camping questions or anything just ask!

I about spit my coffee out when I saw that BigJim was not planning on camping out! on no what is Black Friday coming too!!!!:eyepoppin:eyepoppin

  8. I agree!

That is probably the hottest item in BB this year. I'd say to be safe line up Wednesday night but it depends on where you are and when they start lining up at that location.

  9. The reason I put such a longer wait time on computers is that most of the people waiting in line for them are high school and college kids. They get out there extra early. Where I camp I am the first in line. Behind me there is always high school and college kids behind my group. Their parents drop them off and check on them from time to time. It is fun for them and they are young.
  10. For the netbook I would get there no latter then 11pm Wednesday local time. Computers are very popular more so then video game system.

If you have anymore questions just ask!

  11. Where I camp you make friends fast. With that said when you need to go to the potty let everyone around you know where you are going and how long you will be. Also if you go get food offer the people around you to get them food as well.

2 hours or so before the doors open most people will start to break camp. When this happens you need to break camp, clean up the area around you, put it in your car and then come right back to your spot.

So when the doors are about to open, what becomes of your stuff? Deal with it later? ...or forge some quick friendships around you so that you can load your camping stuff into your vehicle and return to your place in line? I would imagine that there is a camaraderie of "we're in this together" sorta thing happening. Ideally, it seems you'd need a support team to maintain your place, but I'm just curious how solo campers cope. And does the peaceful & respectful coexistence in line outside continue when the doors open? It clearly didn't at that WalMart last year, but after investing all that time to be one of the first in the store only to be outrun by Mr No. Fifty would really, ...well... suck!

  12. The best thing you can do is keep an open line of communication with the store manger and assistants. If the manager says no that means no. Dont try to push it. I have a great relationship with my BB manager and I follow his wishes. In return he feeds me Wednesday night, gives me a employ discount on top of the sale price and makes sure I am happy.
