we central ohioans had this program for over an year now...glad its all universal again...cuz the rewards you were all entitled to we werent...it was weird...and confusing...so hopefully this is all worked out now.
In CA and TX they have had the reward zone program for over a year now but I think this is the first major update to the program since it started.
-
FYI, the watermark makes it look like GD is affiliated with the program
I looked at it after I posted it and you are right. I fixed it. I just did not want any other board to jack the image. I show my loyalty to this board since people have been nice to me here and made me feel at home.

For me it was finding this site and getting to know some good people on here.

I just got a booklet in the mail today (saturday) that has the new Reward Zone (RZ) program rules and goodies. Below I scaned in a page from the handout I got with the new program changes. I was too lazy to type it out. They also have a new RZ credit card where you can earn points elsewhere besides Best Buy. Since the holidays are around the block I thought I would post this.

I was reading yahoo news this morning and thay said that BB and SanDisk will be teaming up by creating a new online music store. Could this mean that there might be BF deals on MP3 players? I know last year BB had the m230 for BF on sale.
The article:
-
I dont know if there are any BF sales on the stores websites but there is Cyber Monday in which the stores will offer deep discounts online. This takes place on the Monday after Thanksgiving. For more info you can go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyber_Monday
Kinda off topic.........
If they do offer BF specials online then you will need a high speed internet access and with that the site might crash. Last year when Best Buy posted there Black Friday ad early Thanksgiving morning the BB site crashed and was crashing for many hours. I hope the IT people at BB will put there site on better servers. Below is a link to the BF archives on the BB site crashing. This link is to a minute by minute (almost) account of that early morning.

I years past I buy for my parents and sister. This year I will buy only for myself since I am sending my parents to Israel and paying for my sisters wedding and honeymoon.
This year I am looking for laptops and computers.

The problem I had last year with the Ticket thing at Best Buy was people having spots saved for them all night.
Best buy came out and gave a warning that they would be passing tickets out in X amount of time, which gave people enough time to call others to come out and stand in line and steal tickets. Pretty damn annoying. Complained about that, so hopefully they'll just pop out at some point and hand the tickets out.
Though, I will be shopping in a much better area this year anyway, so one hopes it won't be such an issue.
I had that problem last year but this year I will be taking a digital camera with me and will take pictures of the people in front (if any) and in back of me (when they arrive) so if that happens I can tell the manager what is going on and will have proof.

This ticket came from the Best Buy store in Frisco, Texas. Frisco is north of Dallas. The ticket's paper is a glossy stock. They have colored paper tickets of the same size for the TVs and such. I think the reason this one is fancy is to sell you all of the extras listed on the paper.

I was at BB on BF last year, and those tickets were given out. However, BB did a very poor job of crowd control. People at the front of the line who waited from 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night barely got the tickets they were waiting for. The crowd that was at the back of the line all rushed up behind the clerks who had the tickets and tried to get the forms before the people who waited most of the night got theirs!!! Luckily I jumped in right where I should have been for the $149 computer, and then proceeded to tell the BB clerk who was behind me so those folks would not miss getting their computers and other items. I am not being racist or anything, but many of the people jumping up to the front were of indian descent and thought nothing of jamming and shoving right in front of you to get what they wanted. I was just happy that I had a great young lady beside me (20ish black american) and another group of techies behind me (all races, great guys to hang out with) that mad the night very fun and worth the trip.
It got so bad they had to pull the crowd to the side of the parking lot, and start handing out tickets. At that point, I was pinned at the front door where they were letting everyone in one at a time. I ended up being the third person in the door, and got out of the store within 15 minutes with my computers and MP3 player. This was my wife's first time out on BF with me and was in awe of it all. But she will do it again jsut to see the sheer craziness of everyone. She got the rush and can't shake it!!
BB just needs to get a better way to keep the folks who arrived late in their place so the folks who rode the 20 degree weather out got their chance to get their items. it ended up being a freee for all when it didn't have to be.
Best Buy does do need to do something about the crowd control. We had a drunk women jump the line and try to get tickets. I just picked up the phone and called the police and they came and hauled her off for being drunk. This year I am taking my digital camera and taking a picture of the people in front of me if there is any so if there is any questions about line jumpers then you have proof.

2 weeks after blackfriday I returned the monitor and for $30.00 more I got a LCD monitor.

If you fall you better cover your face and roll! The videos are great!

Last year Best Buy had the best doorbusters. It just depends on what you are looking for. For me you could not beat the 149.00 desktop with no strings like AOL or online contract.
-
I wondered about those, thanks for posting. Do any other stores besides Best Buy do something similar? Seems like a good idea (and a time saver for those at the back of the line, if you are only there for one thing and you don't get a ticket you can move on to somewhere else).
I dont know if any other stores have tickets or a system like it. For the past few years I have only shopped at Best Buy for doorbuster items.

Last year alot of people were asking about the tickets that Best Buy hands out when you are standing in line on Black Friday. Below is a scan of what the ticket looks like so you know what one looks like. They will have tickets for "Doorbuster" items like TV's, Laptops, Desktops and Mp3 players. About 2 hours before the store opens they will start at the front of the line and offer each person a chance to get a ticket. If someone does not want the item they will go down the line until they run out of tickets or get to the end of the line. Once you have a ticket you can buy that item. Once they open the doors you will have to stand in line for each ticketed item. For example if you have a laptop, desktop and TV tickets you will have to stand in line for each item. Also each store will have a limited number of each doorbuster item. Below is for the eMachine desktop. Last year the store I was at only had 50 on hand so they only had 50 tickets to pass out. On the black friday ad they will have in small print the minimum that each store will have and that is reason for the tickets. I hope this helps.

For me I will be going to Best Buy. Over the years it seems like they have had the best deals on computers and stuff of the like. Also I trust best buy and there extended protection plan which I get with the computers.

For me it will be free breakfast at Best Buy since i am using the personal shopping service.
