  1. We lucked out this year..... My Wife wanted to get me my "Guitar Game" this year and didn't know which system to get so I could play one. (I still have an original Playstation and an old X-Box) She thought she would enjoy the games on the Wii, so we set out to get one, the day AFTER Black Friday. I had just seen hundreds of Wii's at each of the local Best Buy, Circuit city and all 5 Wal-Marts within 5 miles of our house. That Saturday we started making the rounds at opening and everyone said they had sold out at some point on Black Friday. Luckily we needed a few toys for the kids and stopped at Toys R Us on the way home. Wouldn't you know, they still had a handful left after Black Friday. In the past couple of weeks, nobody seems to be replenishing the consoles much at all. Luckily Wal-Mart had just stocked the Wii Fit's early this Sunday morning, so I was able to get one to put away for my Wife's birthday in January. Definitely keep checking. (I know Targets have been getting them in each week also) Now I need to figure out which games work with the Fit Board and get a couple to go with it. Best of luck to everyone. Bill
  2. We have a ridiculous amount of Wal-Marts here in the Charleston area. I have 5 Supercenters within a 10 minute drive in every direction from our house. (5 more within a 20 minute drive) Every week, all 5 have various prices on new release CDs and DVDs. (most are still better than most retailers, even though they might be slightly higher than a neighboring Wal-Mart) Luckily the Wal-Mart right next to my work, 9 times out of 10, usually has the cheapest prices of the 5 stores closest to us. Bill
  3. I know Targets have before. They actually have a sign hanging outside the door that waiting in line won't do any good, as select, limited doorbusters will be done via a lottery 5 minutes before the doors opened. (of course, this resulted in much in line bribary for 2-3 minutes before the doors opened) Bill
  4. Charleston (North Charleston to be precise)
  5. Sorry.Best of luck at Walmart then......
  6. If he knows somebody with a Sam's Club business membership, get them to get him in during the 7AM-10AM business member only hours on Tuesday and he can get one, before they open to the regular members at 10AM. I've read on 3 different forums I frequent that there are lines already as of 8PM Sunday night at Walmarts, Best Buys, etc. already, across the country. (unbelievable for a stupid videogame that will be easy to get by February or March) Bill
  7. We have 5 Super-Walmarts within a 10 mile drive in each direction here in North Charleston, SC. Each store has different rules each year, usually varying according to the store manager's discretion. The store I have hit the last 2 years, puts all the early bird specials on pallets. They clear all the stuff out of the center of the aisles all the way around the store. Around 2-3AM 4 or 5 guys start rolling out well shrink wrapped pallets with the early bird merchandise and filling the center aisles. (security stands every 30 or so feet between pallets wtaching for people trying to grab stuff early) A few minutes before 5AM, they have the overnight stockers each stand by a pallet and open them all simultaneously at 5AM. A pretty smart and orderly way to do it, that most stores should follow I would think. Bill
