  1. I totally believe the ad is legit, but the thread title makes it sound like the sale is Saturday, Nov. 11. That's the only thing we need clarified (as far as I'm concerned at least). I've seen this ad. It has exactly what you listed, but it's not for THIS saturday as the title says. No worries. It's all good:)
  2. The list in the original post is exactly the same as the ad scan I have seen for the Saturday sale that is for November 25. Surely they're not running the same deals twice:no: I double checked the ad scan and it clearly says November 25 at the top. I really don't think the sale is this Saturday. But then, I've been wrong;)
  3. Given this info, and the fact that this year's ad doesn't really meet JCP standards, is it possible that this a faulty ad? I saw this list posted by a member before Brad actually posted it, but i can't remember where that thread is now. If this is really the JCP sales, then I am definitely not spending much time in that store on the 24th.

    Walmart

There's already a large thread about these early sales. I would link it, but really don't know how.:)
  5. I got one of these today, but they would not let me use the printed coupon fo $5 off. I kinda fussed about it a little because it clearly has the Toysrus logo on it, but they really stuck to their guns, like it was not legit. I used one just like it last year with no problem. Oh, well. The player cost me $58 with tax. That a good $25 cheaper than the one I was about to buy from BB.
  6. My understanding is YES! When I posted that thread about the early sales, I was a little nervous about how accurate my ex-husband's information would be. But, everything he told me a few weeks ago has now come true:yup: I'm still hearing that the BF ad will be as good as ever.
  7. It sounds like this article is referring to the November tab sales that start on Sunday because many of those prices are as hot as BF deals. My understanding from my ex (who is an assistant at WM) is that deals that resemble typical BF sales will continue throughout the holiday shopping season. He's been right so far, so we'll hope that continues!
  8. True, not a bad price, but that's after rebate. You can get a similar portable DVD player right now at Best Buy for 79.99 with no rebate hassles. Plus you get a free travel kit. Brad posted that deal a couple of days ago. I'm still just not feeling the Sears ad, but that's coming from a person who doesn't have a need for the tools that ad is really pushing.
  9. I was looking for good prices on the Nintendo DS lite or a smaller lcd tv for my daughter's dorm room. Prices in this ad aren't so good for that. I'm a little disappointed as far as my shopping list goes. Lots of these prices seemed pretty standard to me, even on the clothing items. I'm going to check again more closely.
  10. if you're seeing stuff that looks just like last year's blitz items, it may be for the early sale that Wal-mart is starting on Nov. 1. There is another thread about this, and it sounds like what you saw fits right in with the information coming out of WM headquarters.
  11. hi from northwest Arkansas. i had an inside track for wal-mart last year, but i forgot to get those rights in my divorce settlement this summer.
  12. Just got it!! My six year old is going to love these games. Thanks for the heads up because I never get TRU mailings or ads in the paper!
  13. i hate it that so many people have bad experiences at WM. Our experiences today were GREAT! (in Northwest Arkansas) Almost everybody was really positive and nice. My WM still has many items left and the BF prices will stay the same. I am a little biased because my hubby is one of the managers for our hometown store, but so far I haven't heard a single horror story about a WM in our area. Anyone else from this area?
  14. I clicked on the link you gave, Brad, but the Target page is saying that the camera is out of stock:( Did they really go that fast?
  15. WM company policy says they HAVE to PM. This shouldn't be a store by store thing. I've been a part of the "Wal-Mart Family" for a very long time now, and everyone in NW Arkansas knows the PM game. My husband already has a list of the things he's going to have to PM for me! Where they can worm out of it is with the same brand thing. It has to be exactly the same item. Also, they won't do percent off or BOGO. Look around the service desk area. They post a sign that says something about WM will match any competitor's price. Individual stores can't just change company policy on a whim. Call the corporate office, they'll set people straight.
  16. I'm in a small town about 30 miles from Bentonville, Arkansas. We have NO Wal-Mart competitors and we are getting the $378 laptop. I know the ads online seem confusing, but the extra electronics and toys ads are addendums that WM has issued as comp prices. Ask the manager at your local Wal-Mart. My husband is manager for the store here and he said stores should honor the lower price no matter what the ad for the local store says. He would! Get a hold of a real WM ad that advertises the lower price, then go talk to the manager. Around here, they are really good about doing their customers right!
  17. I'm in Northwest Arkansas, that's Wal-Mart country! The laptops are $488 here. I already have the ad at my house. I'm skeptical about the varying prices theory because none of the Bentonville people seem to know anything about it. If that's what they're truly doing, then it sucks that we're not getting the lower price here. You'd think Wal-Mart would take care of the people in its area. Most of us around here get our bread buttered by that company!
  18. Oops! I was in a hurry to post my info. so I didn't notice the other thread about this!
  19. For reasons I won't discuss , I believe there are some discrepencies with what's been posted for Wal-Mart. The most obvious one is the laptop and desktop for $398. I believe that the correct price is $488!
