  1. It'll still be Black. If people don't seem to mind the human rights abuses WM loves doing to its workers then I'm sure people will still flock to it on Friday. WM is seriously the worst store chain I've ever visited and shudder at the thought of even going in there.
  2. Wal-Mart has social responsibility? wow.
  3. Let's hope it's 1080p. But the whole PS3 vs Wii is a discussion for another thread.
  4. I like the One Per Household rule. I always see family's of 3 or 4 getting multiples of one item just because they have their kids with them. I'm sure if they were the 2nd to last person who didn't get a ticket item because someone a few people from them decided to splurge and take numerous doorbusters with them they wouldn't be too happy either.
  5. I go to a school where the average age is between 20 and 25. There are about 11 or 12 DS's in my class alone and ONE, 1, PSP. The PSP is a media machine. And that's been it's crutch since release. It is not a superior GAMING handheld compared to the DS. Yes, you can store movies and MP3's and photos, but when it comes down to games the PSP has less titles that have received the accolades that the DS software has. Better graphics are no good if the people or children playing are frustrated by the gameplay. The DS has become the "gamer-on-the-go" handheld. It has a slew of accesories and it's game selection is growing by the day. And with that, more and more awesome titles are coming out. AND! The DS has Wi-Fi, so does the PSP, but it is much much much much easier to handle on the DS. Support the Nintendo DS. It's too cute to reject. :)
  6. Yes, but GHI and GHII have different multiplayer modes. GHI is only Versus. Two people go back and forth during one song playing different parts of it. It's fun but always leads to "You got the easy solo" arguments. GHII has improved this by adding many more gameplay modes. You can play Versus still, but this time it's Note-For-Note for both players so theyre practically dueling. Theres also CO-OP which is the best. Two players play the same song but one guy takes care of Lead Guitar while the other takes care of their Rythim Guitar or Bass. GHII is much better gameplay wise but GHI has a better tracklist. Thats reason enough to own both.
  7. If someone were to tell me "Same to you" it'd almost sound a little defensive. I wish more people said something besides Merry Christmas. I havent had the chance to return a Happy Chanukkah yet but I cant wait to do so. Same with Kwanza and whatever Scientologists celebrate...I dunno...Happy Spaceship Day or something. WalMart isnt standing any ground. They're trying to get customers back in who are "outraged" that Christmas isnt being said at other stores. If I were another store I dont think I'd want people who wouldnt tolerate the inclusion of Happy Holidays into the greeting shopping at my store. Meh. It's a dumb debate. The sad part is that it's a debate at all.
  8. He seems like a well rounded kid with technology. I love the idea that he wants books. I wish more kids asked for books. You should be able to tell what his interests are. I love catering to interests. Especially those that help expand the mind. If he likes a certain movie genre get him some box sets. Or sets of books to his liking. The magazine subscription idea is great. It'll keep him waiting for his next one. Don't cop out and get this kid toys. He deserves something more rewarding, even if it means it isnt as flashy as other gifts.
  9. Buy the kid a violin or piano. I regret never knowing how to play something classical as a young kid.
  10. There's a whole army of us raising our cute little plastic guitars in the air.

    $4.99 Movies

Really? These are the same movies that are on sale usually week after week at BB or CC. Not to sound like a jerk but they seem rather pedestrian. The last couple of years they'd have new titles and many older ones that due to their lower price were much much more enticing to pick up.
  12. It'd be a dumb idea for anyone to buy this system and use the "It's ALSO a BluRay player" excuse. I've learned after owning my first-gen PS2 that any sort of extra player in a system will only shorten its life span. This time around I'm going to have dedicated DVD players and systems. Plus. BluRay isnt even the definitive next-gen DVD format. Hell, HDDVD isnt either. Theyre going to implode and kill each other. HD is ahead of its time to the average consumer and all us nerds trying to take advantage of it now might alienate the rest of the people and theyll just give up on any new formats that could be beneficial.

    $4.99 Movies

wow. THAT'S on sale while all the Criterion Collection sets gather dust.
  14. GUITAR HERO has single handedly revived the lives of PS2s around the country. It's not a dust collector after a month. Its one of the best games ever made for the PS2 thats great for the whole family. If you're family's cool enough to like metal and other classic rock songs. GHI has a better tracklist but GHII has improved gameplay altogether. Plus, it has Freebird. :) I don't think you'll see either on sale since GHI has dropped to about 60 dollars now, with guitar. and the new one retails at 80 with guitar. I did noticed that BB is selling the unofficial wireless guitar for 40 bucks which is great, but ugly guitar, so I think that's going to be the only GUITAR HERO related deal on BF. Seriously, everyone loves it. No other game can you play Bark at the Moon and More Than A Feeling and feel like a rockstar.
  15. Wow. Again, Dissapointment. BB and CC have lots of things that never sell but it still baffles me how they try and shove Click and RV and all those other really bad films down peoples throats. Fry's and Target, I'm looking at you as my last hope for media.
  16. At least Arrested Development Season 3 is cheap so people will purchase it and give the show a chance. Best. Show. Ever.
  17. Yeah, your managers would tell us to call them. Insulting someone's parenting is pretty uncalled for unless theres something horrible visibly going on. I did tell someone to stop acting like a child once. It was some 30 something year old lady. She left the store. Thank God, I wouldnt want her wearing the stuff we sold anyway.
  18. Obviously the clerk screwed up his side by not helping you further by calling another store. Having worked two Black Friday's in two years I know how people can be before, during, and after this season. You also don't know what state the employee was in as well, personally. Before I had to quit my last job I didn't care about helping people who gave me one bit of attitude somehow. I was still polite but if you gave me a bad look or even subtly made a remark about my service I would have no problem lashing back. Of course, not viciously but just as subtly. And understand that at around this time retail folk deal with LOTS of b!#cy mothers and customers. Theres nothing we hate more than those mothers who feel they have to OWN customer service while they're in the store. The kind that sigh and make YOU feel like it's your fault that we don't have an item. This isn't directed at anyone but understand that when you're in a store the employees will deal with the customers they find more likeable first. And we'll go out of our way to help them if courtesy is returned. And yeah, if something goes wrong you'll get an apology and a gift card or something but realize sometimes management does that out of courtesy. Just because you got it doesnt validate ANY of your actions in the store. It's a bribe. In the end, if you were a jerk in the first place, management and employees go in the backroom and laugh at you. Sorry, had to vent. I still get angry when I see idiot customers in stores who MUST have something and if it's not available it's the worker's fault. Again, not directed at anyone. I just needed a catalyst for this. So yes. Bottom line: If you have to physically show your anger then you're not witty. Wit is ten times more scathing than any physical outburst.
  19. The old DS is bulky, heavy, and has one brightness setting. If you can even call it "brightness". The Lite comes with a bigger stylus, 4 brightness settings that are eye burning bright, longer battery life I believe, and it looks a hell of a lot nicer. If you're buying the DS for a child then go for the old one. Its a workhorse. Its tough and can be beaten around a bit. The new DS is really for the 20something iPod generation. Its emphasis is style. Gameplay doesnt change at all. BTW, I love my DS Lite. I carry it everywhere. Take out when someone is playing their lame PSP.
  20. I just wish companies didn't rely on FPS games to sell systems. What happened to the days of platformers?
  21. I just lost my Bluetooth headset so thats good. The one on sale looks nice. But yeah...total bummage.
  22. The sad part is that the PS3 has no "Must Have" games at launch. The Wii launching with Zelda blows PS3 out of the water imo.

    Playstation 2

Oh, and if you dont purchase a 600 dollar PS3 you're out of luck. It doesnt come with HDMI connections. Which means you wont really be watching your BluRay movies in true HD.
