  1. Honestly there are so many things I am looking for myself that it really doesn't work to shop for others. I will only if it's my mom or MIL otherwise nope.

    Doll House

How it all started is I saw one in a magazine where they took one of those cheap pressed wood book cases you can buy or find at a garage sale and turned it into a doll house. So that was my plan but I couldn't find one cheap that I liked. Then we did our own housing project this summer and had some scrap wood left so I thought what the heck. The peak is 55". The 2 floors together (straight sides) are 36" high and 11" wide. The overall width of the doll house is 50" so each room is about 16" high, 22-28" wide, and 11" deep except the "attic". I maybe would have added a third floor if I was to redo it but who knows. It is shingled with wood shingles. There are handles on each side as it is really heavy to lift otherwise. It is really pretty big. It was inexpensive and fun. I like that most of the stuff can be changed easily. I can repaint any of it. You could do chalk board paint of the sides or back. I put funky stickers all over the sides. You could do trees and flowers, doors windows etc... You could use glow in the dark paint for the stars instead of stickers. The floor tiles can be changed really easily and so can the wall paper because it's just sticky contact paper. I thought about cutting some cheap bead necklaces to make door beads in the bed room but haven't yet. My daughter put polly pockets in the "attic", bratz in 2 rooms and barbies in 2 rooms and called it an apartment building one day. It was a blast. My daughter loves that all the blinds, laminated stickers, and wall decorations are attached with that ticky tacky putty so she can change the rooms and the look of everything. I plan on making more wall decorations as time goes on. Maybe pictures of the sky, clouds, birds, etc... to put under the blinds so barbie can look out the window? The possibilities are endless.....

    Doll House

I made one for my daughter. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted to buy so I made it. We had some scrap wood left from a house remodeling we did last summer so that was basically free. We shingled it with wood shingles. I painted 3 of the rooms and used contact paper for wall paper on the other 2. I used sticky floor tile from the dollar store in 3 rooms and used scrap carpet in the other 2. I took wall stickers also from the dollar store, laminated them, and used ticky tacky (that restickable putty). This way she can change the wall things around. I had some samples from when we ordered wooden blinds so I used that for her window covering. I just found I could be a lot more creative and we can change things as we go. The peak if 5 ft high and it is just about 5 ft wide as well. All of the rooms comfortably fit barbies or bratz. I'll try to add a picture, hope it works http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c109/haulinbuns/100_1116.jpg
  4. My niece asked her mom why the paper was the same from Santa as from mom and dad. Well my SIL explained that Santa is indeed magic and when the presents come out of the chimney they automatcially get wrapped in the same paper as what is already under the tree. Just thought you'd all like to know how that happens
  5. Thanks I got the blue and yellow for 9.99. My son has a March birthday so I'm going to stash this away. Thanks:g_thumpsu
  6. That sure is a lot of lights but I like it. My kids would LOVE:hearthrob to see that in real life. We always go drive around purposely looking for the ones that are over the top.
  7. My kmart has tons of them for 11.99
  8. The Walmart we went to was really bad infact it was disgusting. We got there at 3:40 am. Everything was really disorganized and most employees kept saying that they didn't know where things were. We were redirected many times but by 4 am finally found our stuff. There were 4 of us. It was a Super Walmart and most of the stuff was in the large aisle between the grocery area and clothes. I was standing directly in front of the Game Boy SP's. I was if not first then second in line. When the cut the rope and said go for it there was such a surge and mad dash. I was pushed to the side and when I tried to grab one I was elbowed in the face and the lady behind me was knocked to the ground. I bent over and reached towards the bottom and grabbed the last 2. I handed one to the lady on the ground since nobody would let her up. I just stood in the area and guarded it with my life pretty much until it cleared a little so I could get out. My friend was by the computers and there was a big fight there. My sister in laws were by the portable DVD players and they reported the same. It was really sad!! I have shopped on Black Friday many years but never anything like this. Not sure what I'll do in the future. As far as kids go- after Walmart we went to Menards at 6 am. There was a white minivan left running, 2 kids in it (not sure of age but they were in booster seats) watching TV with no adult. When we left Menards (it was insane too) at 7:20 am the parents were just going to the van to load up and leave. At least 1 hour and 20 minutes in the van alone. I felt sick and wished I would have called the police on them
  9. I know it's it sad. Now there is no competition between what store I will go to first. It was either shopko or walmart, definately not shopko now
  10. my in laws?!?!?! Just kiddin, mostly sleep is the only thing I readily give up
  11. The Bratz Funky Fashion Makeover: Meygan is at the 9.97 price already. That's great because it wasn't listed in the ad as being available online. Yeah!!! It was really the only thing on my list for TRU
  12. no they will not have computers or laptops of any kind
  13. Here are the shopko door busters except for clothes, the ad is really long so I didn't type the clothes. There is also a huge that is at least 34 pages long that is Thursday Friday and Saturday. They are open on Thanksgiving from 8-6. It is mainly stuff that we see in other ads as far as toys and such. If anyone has a specific question just post it and I'll reply. I got this in my paper today and started to scan but it is so thick I didn't have time to finish.
