This isn't one that expands to a long lightsaber; not the toy by Hasbro. It is much more realistic looking and sounding. It makes several different sounds, power up (and lights "up" the blade) power down, clash, hum, etc... My son also has several of those but now really wants one (two actually) that is as close to a real one he'll ever get !!
