  1. I have a Pharmacy rewards online code that I am going to use Cyber Monday. 15% sitewide Cyber Monday Deal + 5% off rewards online code + 5% off using Target's Red Card = lots of shopping!
  2. Went to Target at 8PM on Thanksgiving. The family went home and nothing else to do so we headed out then figuring the big rush was over. Target was busy but not overwhelming but busier than a normal Thursday night. Every checkout lane was open, things went pretty smooth. We mainly took advantage of their 40% off all clothes, BOGO toys, bungee chair, stocking stuffers, and the Blu Ray Hunger Games. We used our Red Card, 5% Pharmacy Reward, mobile coupon, and Cartwheel to save about $130. On Friday we went to Harbor Freight and Jo-Ann Fabric. Those were by a busy mall that had horrible BF traffic in past years but this year was not bad, like a busy Saturday amount of traffic. The mall opened Thanksgiving and stayed open and I think that made the crowds less than usual on BF.
  3. I personally don't care...Thanksgiving isn't a big family holiday for us but e still won't go shopping. It sucks for the retail workers but it comes with the job. It should be time spent with family but these places are businesses. Other things were open on Thanksgiving before retail was. There is money to be made somehow. There is nothing we can do to stop this train now that stores have got a taste of Thanksgiving shopping. We are at that transition point like when most stores were open on Sunday but some weren't. Same goes for Thanksgiving. Just as pretty much every retail store is open Sunday nowadays, the same will happen to Thanksgiving (save for some stores with specified policies like Costco). Thanksgiving will turn into a watered down holiday that feels like any other weekend day with extended sales. What I didn't like this year is all these "BF Preview sales" or "Early Access BF sale" etc over the top nonsense along with different start times. What a mess. BF isn't special any more, they have turned it into some generic gimmick where they can create "additional" sales to give the illusion you are saving tons of money around Thanksgiving. I remember when leaked BF ads were a huge deal and you really felt like you got a scoop (maybe done on purpose? Who knows) and now companies email you them directly and now everyone is a BF shopper. Bleh, I becomes less interested in the sales every year. The only thing I want this year is the Old Navy 50% off everything sale which I will buy online.
  4. Also, they are not price matching the entire weekend.
  5. I think we should get use to stores opening on Thanksgiving Day. In this economy, stores are looking for creative or different ways to increase customers and sales. All it took was for Store A to have this idea, open on Thanksgiving Night, have success, and now Stores B, C, and D want in on that action. Within a couple years, everyone is doing it and the deals are spread out. Someone probably got paid a lot of money to basically say, "Open Thanksgiving Night and spread the deals over the weekend for increased customers and sales." The mainstream media has caught on to this, along with the rise of social media, and now BF shopping is the cool thing to do. Which is why many of you have noted that teenagers and first timers are out and about more than ever. Years ago I remember the thrill of viewing a leaked BF ad on this site because you thought it was a secret. Now, it is no big deal. I have gotten emails from Target showing off their ad already. Its all mainstream now. I remember going to a Macy's when they opened at 5AM (which made you felt like you were getting exclusive deals by them opening a few hours early) to get some items. There was no line, but it was like a busy Saturday there. No one was putzing around window shopping. People were moving, getting their things, and moving on. You felt like it was an underground club and if you told friends and family about it, you got laughed at. Now they are the ones out doing the shopping.
  6. So if I buy one of their BF ad items tomorrow, can I bring the receipt in on the day of BF and get a price adjustment?
  7. My wife and I were going to head out to Target this morning to get a lot of the TV DVD's Target had for $13.98. We were online last night to look at Amazon's sales when we saw all the DVD's we wanted were on sale for the same price or cheaper! So we bought our 11 TV sets for $122. Sweet! We avoided the crowds, fighting for a parking space and fighting the shopping carts, didn't have to pay any sales tax. We just have to wait until Tuesday, which is no big deal. We didn't see anything else in the ads we liked. We are getting a HDTV for Christmas from my wife's parents and we don't need any more electronics. Plus I just can't buy things in a store if I know I can get it cheaper online. I took my wife to work this morning around 10 and the Wal Mart looked real busy for a normal Friday, but not too busy for BF standards. Granted it was at a "late" time of day for BF sales, but I saw a bigger crowd there last Saturday. Onwards to more online shopping!
