  1. We bought this for our son last year (when he was 6) and he LOVES it! He uses it as a nightlight. It looks rather realistic (especially when the room is dark) and is great for kids interested in the solar system. It comes with a remote control, so you can either turn it on to continuous cycle, set it to light sensor, or use the remote. On the downside: it does eat through the batteries. I suggest paying for rechargeable ones. It really is a nice gift. I paid $29 and don't regret it (though would have preferred a lower price). One of my better "toy" purchases.
  2. FYI: I stopped by my local Sam's tonight to ask about quantity of the Sharp Aquos they are advertising for $866. The store manager told me that this Sams club does not have them and WILL NOT HAVE THEM. He checked for other clubs and found only 4 stores in Michigan that have the TV's--a mere 22 televisions TOTAL for the entire state! No rainchecks. I asked why they were handing out flyers about the TV's if they had no intention of honoring the price and he just shrugged his shoulders. I strongly suggest you check stock for your local club before you in line for hours.
  3. These are not available in all zip codes. Office Depot is very selective about what areas get the deals. I'm not in a "lucky" zip code. But thanks for posting--maybe someone else can benefit!
  4. Our Kohl's was set up so well. Yes, the line was wrapped around the store, but as someone else mentioned, lots of great deals were in the aisles for easy access while you waited. And the line moved FAST. I waited a mere 20 minutes (not bad for such a long line). They had every register open (with a checker and a packer at each one), three greeters managing the carts and offering assistance, and an employee stationed in every dept. It was such a pleasant shopping experience!
  5. You know, I haven't been shopping at Walmart much lately, so I hadn't paid too close attention, but now that you mention it, their clearance prices stink lately. Years past, I could get some great deals. Jusst this past week I stopped in for something and couldn't resist the 4 aisles of clearance stuff. And it seemed like they still had clearance in every dept. None of it was worth buying (heavy shelf wear and ripped packages) and the prices remained high. I've decided to forego any Chinese-made toys this year, which means I'll be shopping in specialty stores. But in support of this board (which I've haunted for years) I'll make sure to do the remainder of my Christmas shopping elsewhere. There are just too many other retailers that love customers for me to tolerate Walmart's attitude anymore.
